Anyone else on dates when southern schools start back??

I live in NC and up until this next school year schools have started around August 5, but NC passed a new law that schools can't start until August 25 due to tourism.

We're thinking of going next August when we'll have 2 kids in school, but we haven't decided yet. This year we're taking ds (who will be in 1st grade) out of school for 1 week the end of September.

Any other southern schools make this change? I wonder how it will impact the crowds late August.

School usually starts in the Orlando area around the second week of August. Matter of fact, they end school very soon since they get out in May so now is when the crowd size will increase.
Not all of Florida starts at the same time though, give or take a couple of weeks.

Ummmmm..ok, I'm in trouble!...

Just got off the phone with Disney reservations and....

we have 8/19 & 20 at the AKL Savanah view,

8/21 & 8/22 at the WL woods view (our first time!)

and then 8/23 - 8/27 at the BWI (deluxe concierge, I splurged here and stayed for less at the other two)

Sooooo..what do you think DH will say when I tell him? (I have until 5/19 to confirm or cancel)

You guys are just such a bad influence......

3 resorts in 8days?!

We're doing 2 resorts in 14days

Actually, it's 3 resorts over NINE nights.. (2, 2 & then 5) Crazy, I know!
