Hi. I live in Ontario Canada and see Sonic restaurants advertised on tv. Are they any good? We are heading to Niagara Falls, Buffalo in Nov. is there any around there?

Oh yeah they are good! They have really good tater tots. My husband loves the Coney Dog. My guess is if you have had the real thing this doesn't come close. Their burgers are good once in a while. The chicken strips are good. The banana splits are good! I don't know if they still have it but this summer they had some Cherry Limeaide thing with ice cream in it - YUMMY!!! They also had a Strawberry one. I liked the Cherry one the best because it was just a little tart, but not too bad. I think I need to go to Sonic for lunch tomorrow now.

Mmm I love Sonic!! Their coney dogs are good, and so are the chili cheese tots (and pretty much anything else with chili and cheese on it.. :rolleyes1) I usually get a coney w/no onions and onion rings (yeah, that's right - no onions on the coney and then I eat onion rings. :snooty:) or I get popcorn chicken w/chili cheese tots. DFi gets the fritos chili cheese wrap w/mozz sticks. We eat soo healthy.

I love sonic... I guess one of the reasons I do is they put mayonaise on the burgers. They have Frito pie, it's fritos with chili on it. The only time we were able to have it was when we went to Florida, we had one open up around 30 min for my house, I have to find it.

they recently opened the 1st two in our area, on busy highways on small plots of land. They were so popular (they still are) when they first opened, that they caused huge traffic jam ups, the towns had to have cops direct traffic, and one police officer even got hit by a car pulling in/out of the place!

I thought the food, the one time I got to eat there, was just eh. The chili cheese frito thing was different, I'd get it again, and the drinks are pretty good, but the burgers and the tater tots were gross; it could be because they were ice cold, but who knows.

I love sonic. My favorite is the cheese tots and orange cream slush.

Sonic is good, you should try it(if you like burgers). Odd thing about the onion rings, they have a slightly sweet taste. That's weird for onion rings but it's ok.:)

They're good for fast food, but not amazing by any stretch. Good shakes and malts and slushes and such. Tater tots, which are a nice change. Decent burgers and hot dogs, etc. Flavors for your sodas, and they don't skimp, so I do love me a Sonic vanilla coke - much better than a Coke Vanilla Coke in a can or bottle by far. Like an old drive in - eat in your car or at one of the few outdoor tables - no inside seating at any I've ever seen. Servers on rollerskates/blades to bring your food. Fun, but not a place we go to very often (then again, we have one nearby in any direction of the compass, so maybe it is just too familiar).

Are they good? Depends on your definition of "good". I don't find them any different than any other fast food chain.

We used to eat Sonic in TX because we had one close to our house. Now we are back in MO and have not been to Sonic in a yr and half.

Onion rings are supposed to have a slightly sweet taste, the way God intended. What non-Southern planet are you from!? ;)

the food is OK, the ice cream treats are wonderful and cheap! we have one about a mile away.

The ice cream concoctions are yummy, but the food is super greasy and full of sodium!

We just got one near us and the kids wanted to go so I took them. Let me say I happen to like fast food, I don't get it often but I do like it. SO when we went I expected to find something similar to Wendy's BK, or Mickie D's. I was disappointed to feel that everything was pretty bland.... all the calories but none of the tasty goodness payoff. DS11 & I had burgers, DD had chicken fingers, also chili fries and ice cream which is exactly the same as McD's IMO. DD got a $3 sundae that was the same as my cone with a teaspoon of M&M's tossed on top. The only thing either of my kids liked was my DS's grape slushie. To each their own but I won't be going back.

It's mediocre fast food. I have never figured out the appeal to it - I think the drinks are the draw, but if you don't/can't drink carbonation (like me) you're very limited in options.

I think their food is gross compared to other fast food spots and pretty pricey. The half price drinks (if your store does it) from 2-4pm is a good deal if you're trying to grab an afternoon drink for a crowd.

I had always heard about Sonic and wanted to try one. DD 23 likes them. So we finally stopped at one. Let's say that once was enough. It was just fast food. Nothing I would go out of my way to get.

If I were passing by -I would stop and get a drink (I like the diet cherry limade)
but I think the food is just sort of meh

the food leaves a lot to be desired. but the drinks...:cloud9: cherry limeaid. :lovestruc

Sorry, I just looked for you and the closest is 160 miles from Buffalo in Chenango, NY.
