Have used SW but was thinking of trying Song or Jet Blue out of Logan. Ill be traveling with 8yo DGD, any thought,s or info would be helpful. Thanks:scratchin :scratchin

We have flown Song several times now. We really like it. Well, except for the changes they seem to make. But, they have never been huge changes and the CS reps have always been very good about getting me what I need after a change. I think they really are pretty similar now that Song has the on-board t.v.s. I'm sure that at some point we will try JetBlue. They just don't open up their flights soon enough for me. But, then again, they don't change them around either. But, we have found Song easy to check-in at, easy to board. A nice experience so far.

Thanks goofy4tink. I went to web sites and song saves me about $40, looking good for Song. Don't want to rush it but first time with just me and DGD. DW Can't travel during holiday season.she works in retail.TV should keep the little one happy on flight to Orlando. Thanks :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Hi, I've flown Song and jet Blue out of Logan. I prefer Jet Blue, these are my reasons.

Jet Blue:
TV's
free full cans of soda, bottled water, and snacks, you can ask for extras.
nicer workers.
they don't "sell" lunchables or other junky food that the kids want.
ticketless, no tickets to lose or misplace.
they didn't change our flight so that we lost a whole day in Disney.

Song:
they kept changing our flights and kept mailing new tickets, very confusing.
"sells" lunchables.
gives children cups of soda with ice.
along with changing our flight times, both to and from Orlando, they didn't seat me, the only adult with my three children. This happened to many families on this flight.

But, last year, my husband had to fly back two days early. (the reason I was the only adult w/3 children). I had non changeable tickets and not only did the Song CSR put him on the same flight with my mother and niece, she even pro rated the fare so it didn't cost any extra.

Thanks sammy66 I am getting a little worried about all the changes in flights with song . I have some thinking to do. Thanks for your input.

I want to support Jet Blue as much as possible but I have to say that I prefer Song. JB is a NY based company that puts its customers first. They both treat passengers better than other airlines. But Song is superior.

Anytime I’ve searched for flights that both airlines fly, Song has been cheaper. JB’s fares start low and only seem to go up and up if you don’t act early enough.
Song gives you Delta FF miles, Jet Blue’s FF program sucks. Since JB’s points expire in 1 year, you have to fly them all the time to earn something.
For New Yorkers, Song services all 3 airports.

Furthermore, all airlines change/cancel flights from time to time, you need to stay on top of your reservations and Song shouldn’t be judged by one or two people around here having changes. People tend to blow things out of proportion when it happens to them.
All airlines will give you the full can of soda if you want, all you have to do is ASK FOR IT.
ALL airlines will give you e-tickets if you so desire and if they do in fact mail you replacement tickets what is so confusing about throwing out the old ones and keeping the newest ones????

I would say that if the fares are the same and you don’t care about FF miles, fly either airline. But if JB is more expensive, you should fly Song without hesitation.

Another vote for Song, here.

The "changes" they've made to any of my flights weren't anything beyond what most other major airlines would make; you can book 331 days out, so you really have to expect some changes here and there.

Even with any changes, Song had more flights, at better times, with more options than Jet Blue.

With Song being part of Delta, if there is a problem, (you missed the flight, a plane broke down, weather delays) you have a much better chance of getting onto another flight than with Jet Blue.

I also like have a choice of what I get to eat, and whether or not to pay for it, or bring something from the trerminal.

I want to thank everyone for there help and info. Looking at the web sites Song is cheaper and has better flight times for us. Ill be booking the flight soon. Thanks :) :) :)

I know you have made your mind up but I also wanted to give a big thumbs up to Jet Blue, when I looked their flights were cheaper so I went with them and couldn't have been more pleased. Just returned 5/14- 5/22

I am with goofy4tink on this one. I really like being able to reserve the flight early. I am just finishing booking April 2005 at the 331 day window, bcs for April vacation I can't take any chances. I sent my Auntie on JetBlue earlier this month and she raved about how wonderful everything was. So for off-peak travel times, I think we'll hold on for the JetBlue tix, but notably I currently have two itineraries booked on Song.

Interestingly, when Song was first launched, they were noting that the color scheme and service characteristics were specifically designed to appeal to women, who notably make something like >60% of all family leisure travel plans (Song's niche, after all). My DW tells me that another lawyer in her firm goes to Florida frequently (several times a season) with his family, and that when the husband books, he always books JetBlue, but when the wife books, they go on Song. Isn't that interesting...

All things being equal, we have had good experiences on both Song and JetBlue (and SWA too!).

I have to echo pumpkinboy--for off peak travel times, I will probably hold out for JetBlue, they seem to be a bit cheaper out of BOS, and the experience so far, has been hard to beat.

That being said, we flew Song in January, and could not have been happier with them either. I know some folks have had flights changed, etc, and so have I, but like another poster said, if you book 331 days out, there are bound to be some changes. I have a reminder set every 2 weeks to pop onto the site, and check our itineraries.

I don't think you could go wrong with either.

What type of changes do they make?

I could live with the time of flight changing (which I'd guess is what happens), but changing the date would be a huge problem.

Thanks in advance.

DBC--so far, the only changes Song has made to our flights have been the Flight #s. Really not a big deal to us at all. We are also not super choosy about where our seats are, so even though we have chosen seats, if they get changed, it will be fine. (That is of course, as long as I am not in the baggage hold, or outside on the wing! :rotfl: )

No worries from us at all. Hey, we're escaping New England in February, and heading to FL!!!!

For our 12/04 trip, Song's fares didn't come close to JetBlue's. There was an over $60 pp/RT difference, for our family of 5 that was around $300. Plus, the flight times were great. We like to go down to MCO late afternoon/evening and leave MCO as late as possible.

With all the fuel surcharge talk, we booked our flight. This is further in advance than we ever book. However, after I read on these boards about JetBlue granting vouchers/credit if fares for the exact same flight go down, I jumped.

I can't speak in terms of experience, but right now, JetBlues fares are beating Song and we liked their schedule better as well.

Another vote for Song. Just love their FAs, cannot do enough for you. Always offering extra soda or water. Great fares, been lucky enough to get $139. - $154. You do have to check often, but they are there. One DD only flies Jet Blue (her hubby likes Jet Blue) They are always trying to get us to fly JB. I always tell them, when I'm wealthy maybe I'll try JB. lol

Thanks for the input Debster.

We are heading out of NE in Feb as well, but NH vaca is really late next year and actually goes well into March.

We usually fly out of Manchester on SW, but are going to try the park and fly option at one of the Logan hotels this time.

I think I'll stick with better safe than sorry and book Song ($104 down, $124 back) instead of waiting out Jetblue or SW.

For February vacation out of the NE, that is a good price, I would grab it. We are paying $249 RT, but we are also flying into Ft Myers, NOT into Orlando.

It's a little cheaper because we are flying into Tampa ($104) and out of Orlando ($124) I think.

Boy, I didn't realize until now, but those prices include taxes. They are actually $89 and $108 before taxes. I can't argue with that.

I've never flown Song so I cant really compair the two, but JetBlue was awesome when I flew them last time when I went to Florida. The staff was really friendly, the planes are really nice and most of their flights are either right on time or even earlyer. I'm flying them again on Monday and I cant wait....

But on the night of March 31st I got an e-mail from JetBlue to call their 1-800 number because there was a change of their flights. My outbound flight was changed to 5 mins earlyer (from 9:10am, to 9:05am) and my inbound flight was changed by 55mins (6:15pm to 7:10om)... no big deal.. I get to spend another hour in florida =)

As I watched the prices of the flights on the days that i'm traveling (may 31st and june 7th) I've noticed since I booked (on Feb 19th) the price of the flights had kepted going up over time, until about 2 weeks ago when they released some more "superfly deals" which brought my outbound flight to $10 cheeper per person then what I bought it for (I had e-mailed them and they said I can recive credit to apply to any other flight in the next year). I guess its just a matter of keeping your eye on the prices and on their "sales" page.

But either way it sounds like you cant go wrong.... just look on the bright side.... your going to Disney World!!!:hyper:  :bounce:

I have flights booked with both Jetblue and Song this year. Price is usually what causes me to choose one over the other. I like Jetblue because rarely are flight times ever changed, they have tv on all flights and the seating feels roomier. I like Song because you can reserve flights earlier than Jetblue and can order food if you want. When we flew Song in December, outbound the plane had the tvs, coming back it didn't.
