Another thread on the CB got me to thinking... Have many folks thought about what song they'd like played at their own funeral? What song would that be?

For me, I think it would be Old And Wise by Alan Parsons Project.

My father asked for 'You'll Never Walk Alone' to be played at his funeral...which I thought was a great choice.

I have quite a few as I want it to be a party, but the 2 that best suit me are Stairway to Heaven and Highway to Hell, played back to back.

Both of my IL's chose Ashokan Farewell from Ken Burns' Civil War series. It's a beautiful, haunting violin piece and now I can't hear it without tearing up. I think DH and I will both have it played at our funerals. Along with Monty Python's Always Look On the Bright Side of Life. ;)

Y'gotta have someone do-up a mashup of those two. :)

Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd...

I want a laugh track playing in the background...I want people to celebrate and have a good time.

I have a list of songs from some of my favorite bands, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Who.

Cetnerfield by John Fogerty... and the Star Wars theme :thumbsup2

Shiny Happy People. By R.E.M.

No idea why. Just something I've been wanting for years.

I've also thought about other parts of the funeral process. No visitation or post-reception. Unless my sister wants it. More happy upbeat songs.

All funerals I've been too have no music, nothing playing as you come in and sit and wait for the funeral to start. I think there should at least be music playing. This way it's not as tense as people sit there, and you can hear them breath and clear throat. It's just very uncomfortable waiting in total silence.

I want to be cremated. No ashes in a funeral plot. Underneath some roses or trees. Some spread at our family camp. Even have looked into making diamonds from ashes, though it's very expensive. No headstone to pay for. :)

"You Talk Too Much" :lmao:

You Talk Too Much"
(Joe Jones and Reginald Hall)

You talk too much
You worry me to death
You talk too much
You even worry my pet

You just talk
Talk too much

You talk about people
That you don't know
You talk about people
Wherever you go

You just talk
Talk too much

You talk about people
That you've never seen
You talk about people
You can make me scream

You just talk
you talk too much

[Instrumental Interlude]

You talk too much
You worry me to death
You talk too much
You even worry my pet

You just talk
Talk too much

You talk about people
That you don't know
You talk about people
Wherever you go

You just talk
Talk too much

You talk about people
That you've never seen
You talk about people
You can make me scream
