One of my super close school buddies' (she will be a sophomore this upcoming year) parents got a divorce last year. She is now going to be moving to Tennessee to be with her mom (I don't know how the custody arrangement works).

Anyway, another friend is handing out scrapbook pages to complete for a scrapbook for the moving girl. The moving girl LOVES music. I was wondering anyone knows any good "goodbye" or "friendship" songs (Disney or otherwise) that I could use on the page I'm making for my friend.

TIA all!

Well I know of a few as I just made an entire scrapbook for one of my friends who just graduated from college that I won't see again for at least a year.
Some are more "mushy" type, but you don't have to use the entire song, you can use just a single line or whatever. If you want the lyrics to any of these, let me know, otherwise, I just listed the songs.

--You'll Be In My Heart- Phil Collins (Tarzan)
--Still On Your Side- BBMak (this is the song I use in every scrapbook for friends)
--Who Says You Can't Go Home- Bon Jovi and Jennifer Nettles
--Me and My Gang- Rascal Flatts (this is the perfect friend song)
--Friends In Low Places- Garth Brooks
--Young- Kenny Chesney (perfect song for friends, I still sing it with my best friend all the time)
--Together Again- Muppets
--This One's For The Girls- Martina McBride
--These Are The Days- Keith Urban (only the opening works well really-
"My grandma was a wise old soul
Took me by the hand not long ago
Said, 'Son, what's your hurry, boy slow it down
Taste the wild honey, listen to the sound
Of the wind that's blowin' through the trees
Rivers flowin' to the sea
Yeah they're all headin' home just like you and me
Life's for livin' child, can't you see?'

These are the days we will remember
These are the times that won't come again
The highest of flames become an ember
And you gotta live 'em while you can"

There's probably some more, but those are the ones I know I've used before. Hope this helps!

"The skin of my country yellow teeth" by Clap you Hands Say Yeah. Song about small town person moving to big city.

"Its so hard to say Goodbye" - Boyz to Men

"Best of Friends" from Fox and the Hound.

"You got a Friend in Me" from Toy Story.

Hi! One of my favorite friendship songs is Queen's You're my best friend. My husband and I used it for our wedding party dance song. It's such a great song to express how you feel to a friend!
You're My Best Friend
Ooo. you make me live
whatever this world can give to me
It's you, you're all I see
Ooo, you make me live now honey
Ooo, you make me live
You're the best friend
that I ever had
I've been with you such a long time
You're my sunshine
And I want you to know
That my feelings are true
I really love you
You're my best friend
etc. etc.
Another song that I love and can't get out of my head is Seasons of Love from the play Rent. My kids were in a show and sang this and I couldn't stop the tears! Beautiful lyrics and mean so much!
Seasons Of Love

Five hundred twenty-five thousand
Six hundred minutes,
Five hundred twenty-five thousand
Moments so dear.
Five hundred twenty-five thousand
Six hundred minutes
How do you measure, measure a year?

In Daylights, in sunsets, in midnights
In cups of coffee
In inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife.

In five hundred twenty-five thousand
Six hundred minutes
How do you measure
A year in the life?

How about love?

Good luck with your scrapbook! :goodvibes

Thank you for your input! It's appreciated-one of my other friends suggested WICKED's "For Good", also. I'm not sure which one I'll use yet, but I will keep all the suggestions in mind :)

I like all the suggestions!

That's the first song I thought of. "For Good" from "Wicked."

I've heard it said
That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow
If we let them
And we help them in return
Well, I don't know if I believe that's true
But I know I'm who I am today
Because I knew you:

Like a comet pulled from orbit
As it passes a sun
Like a stream that meets a boulder
Halfway through the wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you
I have been changed for good

It well may be
That we will never meet again
In this lifetime
So let me say before we part
So much of me
Is made of what I learned from you
You'll be with me
Like a handprint on my heart
And now whatever way our stories end
I know you have re-written mine
By being my friend:
Like a ship blown from its mooring
By a wind off the sea
Like a seed dropped by a skybird
In a distant wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you:
Because I knew you:
I have been changed for good

And just to clear the air
I ask forgiveness
For the things I've done you blame me for
But then, I guess we know
There's blame to share
And none of it seems to matter anymore

Like a comet pulled Like a ship blown
From orbit as it Off it's mooring
Passes a sun, like By a wind off the
A stream that meets Sea, like a seed
A boulder, half-way Dropped by a
Through the wood Bird in the wood

Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
I do believe I have been changed for the better.

And because I knew you:
Because I knew you:
Because I knew you:
I have been changed for good.
