Hi, we have a party of 6 (ages ranging from 14 to 67), visiting WDW in July. I'm looking for somewhere special to eat on our last night. DH loves steaks, chicken etc.. but I'm vegatarian.
Would like somewhere with a view/ or interesting/quirky?? But not overly priced.
Has anyone any suggestions??
Thanks.
Tracy

The Kobe - Japanese - or similar, you all sit around a big hotplate whilst the chef juggles & cooks your food. Not too expensive & there are always discount coupons in all the booklets.

Was thinking more of something 'on site' - more like Capn' Jacks at DTD?? or similar? Maybe somewhere at Epcot or DTD???
The majority of our party like 'home cooked' food, and I do eat fish, so anywhere thats serves food that's not too 'hot or spicey' would be fine.
Thanks

What about Restaurant Marrakesh at Morrocco in Epcot - it's not at all spicey and would be different with the belly dancer?

Sounds lovely to me, but might not get DH through the door. He'll just think everything is highly spiced! He once went for Buffalo Chicken Wings and left all of it!! It's so hard!!
Any more suggestions??
Thanks
Tracy

Ok then, what about Living with the Land. It's a very bland type meal and the novelty of the restaurant rotating is quite fun. There are characters though - would that be a problem?

Yeah, I know what you mean... I was going to suggest the "Rose and Crown" ;). The OP's DH doesn't know what he is missing - some great food out there in the world (and Orlando).

Shooby doo suggested the Kobe, but Disney have their own version onsite in the Japan Showcase - "Teppanyaki Dining". We have been there for lunch and it is excellent. You get a real show and the food is not spiced or really flavoured much at all - just cooked infront of you in a real show by the chef. Menu here - http://allearsnet.com/menu/men_tepd.htm . Great for a group (http://allearsnet.com/tp/ep/e_jap.htm and http://allearsnet.com/tp/ep/e_jap18.jpg)

I don't like it beacause it is so bland - I'm a spice girl myself! :rotfl:

I like the idea of the Japan restaurant, will just have to over rule DH!! I love spicy food too, so ideally we could do with something that will suit all of us!
Between the six of us, three would eat spicy food, and three won't!! I eat fish, but one of the six won't! I don't eat meat, but can usually find something on the menu.
Trying to sort out tea on a daily basis at home is a nightmare!!
Anyway, will look at all the suggestions, and hopefully get one booked - then there's no option. I could always keep it as a suprise for the last night. Although I did that about 10 years ago, when I booked the Hoop de Do Revue, and DH nearly died of embarrassment, when he had to strum his 'washboard' (I think he thought he was going to get dragged on stage!).
So, as you can see, I'd like some where with atmosphere, but not to cringy, if you know what I mean.
Again, thanks for your suggestions. Any more are welcome!

Teppanyaki definitely not spicy, but still flavourful (i.e. not bland) and a little different without being off-puttingly so (i.e. not "foreign").

Choice of meat/fish/seafood/vegetarian on the menu and combos too - something for everyone.

Teppanyaki definitely has atmosphere and a fun atmosphere, but no audience participation required at all! :). It's also in Epcot - so good for a last minute wonder afterwards (before going home the next day).

Good luck finding something - you certainly aren't stuck for choice in Orlando ;)

I've always fancied trying this restaurant, too but being the "fussy" one of our party, I didn't want to spoil everyone else's fun here by not eating anything! :rotfl2:

Now after reading all your comments, I think I may try and call for an ADR over the weekend! :teeth:

I second/third Teppanyaki, We went last June on Honeymoon and we loved it. All the waitresses wear traditional Japanese costume and the chefs are good fun and the food is cooked to perfection. My Husband loves spicy food, the spicier the better for him yet I am the opposite and I really only eat chicken unless I cook it and as another poster said they do have all combinations of meat/fish and spicy/non-spicy.

We also have enjoyed the Marrakesh in Morrocco and again not too spicy.

Although the restaurants say "authentic cuisine" It is an english/american slant on the dish and therefore are not overly spicy, if they were I couldn't eat them!

What about 'Ohana?
Well I'm definitely not Ginger, Sporty or Baby - maybe a bit Posh and a lot Scary!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Especially if hormonal :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi Lynnmci,
We were having a 'family' discussion last night and after going through all the suggestions we've been given, I think we're going to plump for the House of Blues. Do you know whether you can eat where the stage is?? Would we need to do ADR?? We really love DTD, and have always spend time there, so I think that would be a great place for our last night.
Thanks for everyone's suggestions - I would really have liked to try the Japan restaurant, but showed DH pics of the food, and got a big NO!! He loves places like Hard Rock Cafe, and TGI's, and we're big music fans (went to see Bon Jovi in Manchester, last week!) so I hope HOB's will be ok for all of us! I'm just keen to try their Key Lime Pie!! Yummm!!
If anyone could tell me about the seating there, ie, do we have to be specific to eat near the stage etc.....
Thanks everyone!!
Tracy

I ate at HOB again and then went to see Cirque Du Soleil. What a way to finish!!!!! Have a fab time
