to the parents for showing no class.

I too would have fealt very badly for that poor woman she must have been mortified.
Some people are plain rude. I went to a funeral last Monday and most of the people were very elderly. You had to walk from the temple service to the gravside service. Suffice it to say. The very elderly people were making the trek very slowly across the street. I was in the very front of the line of mourners ( being a bit younger) Behind me were 2 women in thier late thirties. Cracking jokes the entire way across about the time it was going to take to get there. Then it progressed to well lets hope they don't fall in the hole. At that point I just stopped short, turned around, and very evilly said. Shut up. And you know what they did. And did not utter another word. And I fealt much better.
Of course confrontation is not always the best choice. In your case if the parents were in on this as well. I would have simply said. What nice values to teach your children. If you had spoken up. You would feel better about the whole thing.::yes::

No ! i can say i dislike people but never hate them and i can say that after i just got a ticket supposely for not wearing my seatbelt, is which i was wearing my seatbelt, but the police officer said even his partner said i didnt, i said i most certainly had my seatbelt your talking to mrs. safety here, i even make my 6 1/2 yrs old still sit in a car seat. basiclly it was yes i did, no you didnt, yes i did no you didnt and i ended up with a $25 dollar fine !

so, i can honestly say i dont hate you know who, just dont like them right know. now i have $25 less to spend at the members homecoming:sad: :sad1: :sad1:  :sad1:

even speaking up and telling the truth sometimes doesnt help the problem.

as for the teens i would have turned around and said, that may be you some day , sooner then you think and i hope no one makes fun of you at your desprate time of need.

oh, i forgot to mention on my way to the bank, yep, the officer had someone pulled over and on my way back from the bank he pulled me over then after i left and was sitting at the light , the officer pulled someone else over, hmmm this smells like a doughnutless day for someone !

Do you expect anything less from a couple of teens? Those years can be the worst! Hopefully as they grow up, mature and become less self centered they'll learn a little more compassion. Unless of course, their parents were also laughing with them, then they might not stand a chance. Glad you said something to them. That is sad to make fun of someone who either couldn't help her accident or who was sick. :(

Yes, I certainly can expect more that what was shown here.
Compassion needs to be taught at an early age and if there was an adult with them, then that might have been a good time for a "touch up" lesson.
Age is NOT an excuse for lack of compassion.

Well, my first thought about those rude teens was, "Maybe they'll spend the last decades of their lives wearing Depends!" Thatmight give them a different view of things.

It could happen to anyone and I don't think it's a big deal. I just hope the elderly lady didn't hear the rude kids

I feel so bad for that lady. :(

Hopefully, she at least didn't hear the snickering.

I'm pretty sure I'll hate EVERYONE on Thursday when I make my valiant attempt to quit smoking...

LOL, when threads like this get moved to the CB without a move note, I enjoy trying to figure from whence it came, LOL. This looks like a DVC bunch. :teeth:

Last night I dreamed this thread was moved to the Community Board!

Bobbi:D

While I don't like to use the 'hate' word when it comes to people, some people just leave me puzzled. That was just downright MEAN. It seems like more and more, people have less and less respect for others. I hope they are Disboard members too, and can see how rude they were. That poor woman.

Does this make me HATE these people? - NO. I see two insensitive teenagers whose parents should have shut them up. I don't think these people are necessarily bad but are needing a lesson in sensitivity and learning to keep their mouths shut in public! Everyone makes mistakes, let's just hope these teenagers learn from this and grow up to be compassionate adults.

That poor woman, she must have been so embarassed. :(

Truthfully, teenagers are old enough to know better. Their parents shouldn't have to tell them to be quiet. I have witnessed many adults, in their 30's and beyond, being just as obnoxious. Rudeness knows no age.

When my Mom was pregnant with me, she became very ill and they operated...a ground breaking operation for the 1960's. She had an infection and had to have about 10 ft of her intestines removed. Now, that she is 70, when she has to have a BM, she has almost no warning...It's NOW. The story told by the OP is one of my mother's worst nightmares and one reason why she limits going anywhere. Luckily for her, this only strikes in the morning, so she is able to plan her day around it. Which is why we now only fly redeye to Disney World. (Can't exactly get up and to go the bathroom when the plane is taxing down the runway. Also, she's careful about rides in the AM, but she absolutely hates taking the bus in the morning.

Having said that, unfortunately, seems a little typical for teenagers. They don't realize that they will be old one day...To them, it's just not going to happen. That's why they have parents to teach them. Blame the parents, not the teenagers.

Truth be told, I do not "hate" these people, at least not now. At the moment they were snickering though, hate is pretty much the best word to sum up how I felt about them.

Maybe I was a little vague in my OP, but the parents- especially the father- were just as bad if not worse then the parents. This was not a case of bro & sis makin jokes, mom & dad were just as guilty.

Lastly, the elderly lady heard none of the comments as they didn't start until she left.
