Something you want to do this Winter

A weekend in the Poconos. I probably won't, though. I have several "money" things coming up for 2016 and most likely can't afford it.

I may be the only one, but I want to clean my closets and do my spring cleaning before spring hits. Then I will finally be ready to rip out and replant my garden without inside distractions. I'll also be ready for some work we want to have done (moving a closet, installing crown molding and replacing flooring) so we can repaint the main rooms once it warms up again.

Ride roller coasters at my local Six Flags in NJ. It's going to be fun to ride coasters in December and a few days in January without having to travel far.

I'm looking forward to it too. But I hear that about half the park will be closed during the Holiday season. No El Toro  But all the lights should be very attractive. I saw a few promo photos of it.

Are you aware that Six Flags is having a "bonus" weekend right now? They were open Friday, yesterday and today. A wine festival is also going on. I took Friday afternoon off and went to get a few extra rides in since I missed Fright Fest this year. (Went to Fright Fest at Six Flags Magic Mountain in LA on October 30).

I think I might use my parents' fireplace this winter before I sell the house. It probably hasn't been used in 20 years.

But I hope 6 dead squirrels and a raccoon don't drop out when I open the damper!!

Looks like everyone is looking forward to winter  All I want to do is save money! After the last two winters my heating, electric and plowing bills were higher than ever. I had a lot of other sunk costs like vet bills and stuff relating to a car accident. Also had a furlough at work that amounted to 5% of my take-home pay. I've already cut my spending and after this California trip that's it for awhile. Luckily our lodging, and park tickets are free and I had miles for my plane ticket so this is a super cheap trip.

I would LOVE to learn how to ski, but doubt that will happen this year *sigh*.

I was there on Friday as well to get my final rides on Kingda Ka, Zumanjaro and El Toro for the season. I never got to El Toro because I had heard it was having breakdowns all day and ran out of time at the end of the night.

It would have been nice to have El Toro running for Holiday In The Park, supposedly it has a lot of trouble running in the colder weather compared to some of the other coasters so I guess that might be why it is closed.

I plan to get back into scrapbooking during the colder weather. (And I started yesterday with four pages!)

Lose 30lbs!!! ;)

Dh and I hope to go on a cruise in the summer... I want to go confident and not hide or not go at all...

El Toro was only running one train when I rode it, and there were long gaps between dispatches, so what should have been a 20 minute wait stretched to almost an hour. I didn't have the patience to deal with it again. So only one final ride for the season.

I do remember reading somewhere that certain coasters can't operate when the temperature gets to a certain point. So I suppose that makes sense why El Toro will be closed for Holiday in the Park.

But what do you want to do in your wonderful Arizona winter?? ;)

Like I mentioned in my first post .....go to WDW which I will be doing in January

And go outside! Can't do that for long in the summer

to not shovel every day. one good storm I would be ok with but not storm after storm like we had last winter

and do you think you will ?

I want to go Skiing, its been years since I did, didnt know what i was doing and it was so much fun.

Do I think I will ? Hell no

I would love to take a long, romantic weekend in the Poconos. A nice cozy room with a fireplace and a secluded deck with a hot tub, not any of those cheesy rooms with round beds and champagne shaped hot tubs:scared: I want to drink some hot chocolate laced with brandy and watch other people ski:rolleyes1
