Something Wicked this MAY Comes! 18 nights @ RPR & SFR. An April/May 2025 TR

Carole, do they have a store on Citiwalk selling Epic Universe stuff? When my son Graham was little, he missed 50 days of school a year due to illness. We played lots of Super Nintendo. He was Mario, I was Luigi. If I have the energy some day when there, I thought I’d go get him a Yosgi. ( the little dragon).

I would assume they would, we haven’t gone into the store yet, but will over the next few days and have a look.

Bless him, that’s a lot of school to miss, glad you could make it a little better for him playing games 🥰

There is actually a Super Nintendo store now in Citywalk - to the right as you enter by the movie theater.

Spoilers!

We just came up from the Mother’s Day Brunch in Amatista……we are full to bursting, especially as I ate my body weight in oysters, King Crab and shrimp!

It was lovely, so I think we’re both going to snooze for an hour, all that food and a bottle of champagne too…..yep, snooze time!

Hope all the mummies are having a lovely Mother’s Day 🥰

but the crème brûlée and especially the crepes were not good!
Wah! We had our sights set on those. I don't care for butter beer in general (detest cream of soda), but the pics of crepes looked good to me

Now I'm pondering: how does one manage to mess up cream brûlée ?
one of the nicest cocktails around even if I say so myself!
I will vouch for it lol
may have had two
No counting on vacation

Hope you had a few for me, yum

We don’t like Butterbeer either, although we do like the ice cream and the potted butterbeer.

Crepes were bland and spongy, but neither of us like crepes to be fair, filling was just too synthetic and cloying.

Crème brûlée was messed up as it is mass produced goop. As I said earlier, it is one of my favourite desserts and so easy to make a really good one. We spoke to several folks here who had tried it and all said the same thing, wouldn’t recommend either but they do have some lovely entrees in the Cafe.

lol…..it is a good one and yes, one shouldn’t count alcoholic beverages on vacation!

I did!!! Tom said if you had been there we could have just pulled up a chair in front of them and enjoyed! They were nice, just not Lee & Rick sizes!!

We are stuffed!!!

Gives new meaning to bellying up to the (raw) bar lol

nice to see Amatista didn't cheap out on the buffet as so many other places have fallen off

Would have been funny though, pulling up a couple of chairs!

Yep, they didn’t cheap out which is good to see, quality products and replenished frequently which was good to see. I do think for $90 a person, you should get a complimentary mimosa or similar, but not anymore.

It was lovely though.

Looks like you had a lovely Second Mother's Day! This was the first time since 2005 (Davy reminded me he was WITH me in 2006 -- as in inside me. LOL), I was not with my boy. BUT, he sent me the nicest and funniest text in the morning, and then called me later in the afternoon (he is cramming for finals). AND, Jason brought me brunch while I was still in PJs. It was delicious! I spent the day watching my two favorite sports -- tennis and baseball -- and reading and had an absolutely fabulous and relaxing day. I ALSO talked to Davy about our trip in July (and for my birthday!). Your trip report spoilers are getting me excited!!!! (Also, we decided to come back January 5 as well... can't let the AP go to waste, now can we?)

Looking forward to more of your report!!!!

I did and it’s always lovely to celebrate twice! Kyle was away with friends running a half marathon on Sunday but he did send me a Happy American Mother’s Day email lol…..he knows me so well!

That sounds lovely Alice, a nice way to spend the day even though your boy wasn’t with you, wish him all the best for his finals, he’ll do amazingly well for sure!!

Your trip is coming up soon and happy to hear you’re back in January too, yes why not since you have those AP!

Yup, we are having a blast, but in a quiet way this trip, it’s very much a take our time and smell the roses kind of trip 😍

Well, today looks so much better than yesterday!

Haven’t seen such heavy rain since our last hurricane, it just didn’t stop from when we got up and got heavier and heavier and it was like a mini tropical storm as it was torrential for the whole morning and into the afternoon. So what do you do when the weather is like that….you go to the Mall ::yes::

And that’s what we did but we still got drenched and wet feet but we soon dried off and locals were thrilled as the grass needed it so much.

However anyone in the parks yesterday, it would have been so miserable, but today looks back to hot and sunny. Haven’t decided which park to do yet and might have a day onsite and do both, we’ll decide after breakfast.

Have a lovely Tuesday :sunny:

All caught up. Carole looks like you and Tom are having a nice relaxing vacation.

I like your new hair cut it really looks nice.

Congratulations to Kyle on his marathon completion especially under such harsh conditions. Heat really does amp up the issues with those marathons. Your physical endurance does get a work out.

Good to hear you were able to celebrate another Mother’s Day in style here in the states. Looks like Amatista put out another nice spread of food to celebrate. Glad to hear you were able to enjoy some of your favorites like the oysters.

I know you have been enjoying the heat while in Orlando 🐊. I had a couple of days there last week and my last day last Wednesday was smoking hot with full on sun. This is coming from someone who is used to Florida heat…..LOL

Enjoy the rest of your time in Florida.

We are having a very relaxing time this trip, not sure we’ve done a lot, but it’s been fun!

Thank you, I do love my short hair, much easier and quicker to wash, dry and style twice a day…..and thank you, yes he is a star with his running, and it’s such a social hobby, he has some lovely friends that all love running too and they are so nice….and so full of energy too lol…..

I was not embarrassed by how many oysters I ate, can’t say the same for Tom, he was into prime rib and I’m still on the oysters!

The weather has been beautiful, one morning and two evenings of rain isn’t bad, temps have been perfect for us in the high 80’s with no humidity. I read some idiot write a couple of weeks ago May was usually hotter than July/August…..er, no!! This is one happy lizard!

Thank you, only a few days left but a lot of catching up with friends over that time too, but not long till we’re back :wave2:

Looks like I am finally all caught up!

Your hair looks amazing!!!!! I love it!

Your pictures are amazing (as usual) ::yes::

I can't wait to see and read your trip report.

:welcome: Along, good to see you Pumpkin!!

Thanks!!! I never thought I’d love short hair, but I do!!

I’m so glad you’re all caught up and yes, hope you enjoy it when it does fully start up, it’s been fun but very casual this trip, I think some days we’ve barely taken a picture, living in the moment I guess.

Hope you enjoy it and happy to see you, hope all is well with you and yours :)
