This is going to sound crazy, but.........

I suffer from migraines and bought a product called MIGRAINE ICE in the pain aisle of a drug store. It is a very thin piece of comfy fabric that contains cooling gel that comes in different sizes for your forehead, temple or back of neck. You peel it off and it sticks to your head - very comfortable though.

Well, my son had a fever recently and I pulled two out and put them on his forehead - and back of neck and he loved the cold feeling and guess what, they never got warm! Even with a temp of 104! They stayed cold for hours!
He said they were so cold that he wanted to take it off after awhile......

It just has a thin gel pack between layers, that's it. My DS asked if we could bring these of WDW to wear when he got hot on the back of his neck! What an idea! I wouldn't go prancing around the park w/ it on my forehead, but I would wear it on the back of my neck where it wasn't so visible!

Right now they have special pkgs. that have 5 forehead pads with 4 free temple pads (great for kids - put behind their neck).

Hope this helps!

Do you think I could buy enough of these to fit over my whole body? :D

This sounds great!!! When I get too hot I get a bloody nose. And I put a cold cloth on the back of my neck and right wrist, But when I'm not home this is more difficult.

But this product sounds like a good Preventive measure!!

Thanks for the info!!

Thanks for the info...I always get a headache after driving the 13 hours to Disney I'm checking this out as well!

Sherry, I was thinking the same thing!! How attractive!!

This sounds like a great deal. I have vertigo and it is managable with Dramamine but sometimes I still have to stick my hand in ice cold water to help that "sick" feeling pass. I'm going to the drug store to find this product. Thanks

Melissa

I am so glad I finally have been able to give something 'worthwhile' back to these Boards!:D

Hey PD Gal!

What a find! I'm more polar bear than human (or so says my wife  ). If the temp passes 60 F I start to get hot.

Where did you find these? Who's the manufacturer?

This will help me in SO many places!

Hi Magill,

Once again, it is called Migraine Ice by Mentholatum. I buy them in the pain relief section of my local Rite Aid Store. They do have an 800# in case you have questions 1 877 2 soothe and a website www.migraineice.com. They have a money back guarantee - of course, for migraine relief, not cooling off at a theme park!LOL But it works for us! It is icy cold and I would not be with out it for my headaches.

Hope it works for you.

I am part polar bear too! My dh thinks the a/c is always turned way too high.............

You know, I get migraines too, and have always wondered if these help. They are kinda expensive, so I have never bought them before, but would be worth it, if they help migraines. I have seen them at my local Walmart in the pharmacy isles. Most dicount department stores carry them.

TiggerKeeper- Have you tried Meclizine HCI 25mg,its a 24 hour pill, and is the only thing I will use for Motion Sickness[yes I Know vertigo is different] but if Meclizine worked you wouldn't need to take a pill every 4 hours. Our HMO also suggests it for Vertigo.
