I open threads when I know I have no relationship to the topic. Like ones where pregnant women ask what they can ride, ones about coolers being brought into parks, ones asking what age kids can go off by themselves. I also like to open the ones where people ask if they can cook with their hotplate in the room (hmmmm....mostly just to watch the fight ensue?). ;)

I'm not pregnant, I never bring food in, I don't have kids, and would never cook in my room. Why do I open these threads??

 :teeth:

Anyone else?

I think its all part of the brainwashing by the moderators. There is a way they keep us hooked to the boards neglecting our houses and families. Someday someone will find us all like zombies staring at our monitors on the disboards. LOL

Sorry I didn't answer your question, but if it makes you feel better I also open threads just to see what is inside.

Deanna :cat:

Only if I have a lot of time on my hands... then I'll open just about anything!!!

:wave2: princess:

maybe rubberneck postings????? I am the same way. I know I shouldn't look, but I just can't help myself!!

How about being a moderator on a Disney site and hardly ever going to Disney???? Hellooooo..... :teeth:

I, unfortunately, am linked to threads I normally would DIE before opening so I have to read them.... :earseek: Otherwise, I stay away from them.

Because you've been raised to be a very good DIS-er and plan ahead to the day you will head to the park towing 4 pre-schoolers and being pregnant with your 5th. You will need to know how to make the most of your "money".

;) :p :teeth:

So you can absorb every piece of knowledge in case you might need it some time in the next 60 years. ;)

I open them too, because I like the DIS folks and I care about whats going on in their lives.

Sometimes, if I have an opinion, or a suggestion, I even give it, even though I don't have direct experience...

But be warned, if you don't have kids and want to give an opinion to someone who does.... I often get talked down to when I comment on a thread about kids just because I don't have my own. Like I'm not allowed to have an opinion or give suggestions for things kids might like? Never mind that I am around small children almost daily and have a degree in psychology, right?

As for the political threads, I think it's amusing watching the hardcores on both sides go at each other, because as a non partisan, I can see faults on both sides.

I've never brought coolers into the parks, but I like to read those threads to get ideas, just in case I ever do. :)

I do the same thing....especially when I'm really bored. It's like a car wreck. You just can't look away! ;)

Maybe it's a relief to get away from our problems and ones that are very similar. You can open these threads with which we have no "connection" just to snoop around.:D

I open them too. However, if I reply I try to do it in a way that makes it clear that I'm not an expert - just giving my opinion.

Voyeurism - in one of it's many forms...

Guilty! ;)

Look!! I finally got my first tag! And all because of this thread!
