Going to WDW at the end of May with my DS - 4. Meeting up with MIL and BIL/SIL and their 6 y.o. daughter. We expect to spend most time with them but want to take my son for an afternoon or evening all on our own and do something special. We are going to go to a character meal with them so that's pretty much taken care of. I was hoping that there was a fireworks cruise that you could join in with others on but if there is one, I can't find it.

Any suggestions on something we could do that is out of the ordinary from just going to the park?

Thanks for any suggestions.

They do have the Illuminations cruise (there is a thread at the top of the board about it). However, they book early and you may have trouble getting one at this point. Why not go to AKL for a meal and look at the animals. Or possibly rent one of the boats. My son is older than your's but these are things he really enjoys when we do.

How about the campfire movies in Fort Wilderness? You could go a little early and visit the petting zoo, then make s'mores and watch the outdoor movies.
