Something special for a 10 year old boy to do?

I have 3 kids. They will be 10, 3, and 3 when we go in June. Are there any special things that a mom and son could do? My DH and 10 year old will probably do a fishing excursion just the two of them, so I was wanting to do something just the two of us. I was excited about the family culinary adventure, but it has been discontinued.

Lots of the resorts have activities, there's mini golf, horseback riding, a special meal just the two of you. Dad's already claimed fishing or I'd suggest that. Really, it's all about what he likes and what you can share.

In the MK, you could play the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom game (its free!). Grab your free set of cards at the firehouse or at the kiosk in Liberty Square, then go around to the portals and try to defeat the sorcerers. YOu can get a new set of free cards every day as long as you have checked into at least one portal since the last time you got a set of cards (on a previous day).

There's also the pirate/treasure map game (also free) that you can play in Adventureland

I agree with Sorcerer's of the Magic Kingdom, plus it is FREE!!!. DS9 got really into it a few trips ago and that is one of his favorite things to do in Disney. Usually we do a park in the morning and eat lunch together, then DH and my Mom take DS3 back to the resort for an afternoon break and DS and I head over to the Magic Kingdom to play a few rounds. Usually that involves me getting a dole whip and wandering around after him while he races from spot to spot. He absolutely loves it though and gets very into it.

I think something really special would be getting a fireworks time reservation at California Grill. At 10 I imagine he can sit through dinner and then he will one of the best views of the fireworks especially out on the viewing deck. Also it would just be adorable to get dressed up and go one a mom and son date. I know my fiance still talks years latter about the just mom dinners he had at nicer restaurants.

Since it's mother and son, what about the horse carriage rides that are at POR one afternoon or maybe renting the little speed boats from the lake resorts..

I have a 10 yo and we just returned from our first trip. Two activities our son loves were the Wild Africa Trek and the Pirates and Pals cruise. On both we met grandparents/parent taking one child as a special solo event.

On our first trip, my son was turning 9. He really loved Jedi Training, Pirates League and Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom!

Ask him what he would like to do. At that age, my eldest liked going to back out to the parks with one parent to see one of the fireworks shows and get a couple rides in.
