Something new for early MK park hours

Yay! The article said its for up to 100 guests, so it's only $750 per person! Maybe DH and I will renew our vows and invite our 100 favorite people. . . I may even host an essay contest for 4 free invites - applications due soon!

I'm sure many will find this tempting. Luckily I haven't paid for a wedding any time recently, but an occasional article about the "average wedding budget" will quote astronomical (to me) sums, so I'll bet a chance to ride in the carriage in your wedding dress past the castle at this price will get snapped up like hot cakes.

7:30 am at the train station. 9:30 am at the Plaza gardens. Yeah, I want to be the bride who is getting her hair and makeup done at 4 or 5 in the morning. Not.

DD had a Disney wedding. But it was in the afternoon. And we paid about a quarter of that. But I'm sure there will be people who think this is a great value. #1%.

Question: What is stopping anyone from paying for the Early Morning Waffle Hour for themselves, a few guests, a person with a nice DSLR camera and an officiant, entering the park when it opens for the ticketed event and having a quick, discreet wedding in Fantasyland? It would cost a heck of a lot less. You'd just have to organize and pull off the "flash mob wedding" fast enough to avoid being approached by security, assuming that this is even against the rules.

Wellll.... Disney does have very strict policies about weddings anywhere on their property, never mind in the parks. I don't think you'd find a minister or JP in the state who would do an unsanctioned wedding. (at the risk of being banned if caught) So you'd have to get one of those internet registered things ( are they even legal in Florida?). And then there's the whole possibility of getting caught by security and being turfed out of the park. On. Your. Wedding. Day.

I've heard of unsanctioned vow renewals happening though.

I thought they already did this. We had an 8:05 BOG reservation, were let into the park about 7:40 and as we were directed to walk on the path around the castle, we ran right smack into a bride and groom having their pictures taken next to the castle. Full regalia, top hat and tails, bridal veil and huge wedding bouquet. It was a little embarrassing, as we were way underdressed for the occasion!

That was probably a portrait session.

One afternoon we saw someone getting married at Seabreeze Point on the boardwalk. A man walking by got pretty much as close to the ceremony as he could and shouted, "don't do it, it's a trap!" Everyone in the wedding party turned around and glared at him. He just laughed and kept on walking down the path. That would be my nightmare about getting married in such a public place...people have no filter. And you know a true bridezilla would totally blame that on Disney lol.

I would also hate to shell out 75K for a MK ceremony on a day it happens to rain. I'm sure like all other outdoor Disney wedding venues this one probably has a back-up location, but what a horrible and expensive disappointment if you had to wind up moving.

You can add a photo session in the parks to your wedding package. It's not on the same day as your wedding, generally. I forget what it cost, but it was a fair amount of money on top of having to get all made up again, get new flowers, etc.

To each his own. If it is what someone wants, then go for it. I hope it is everything they want it to be.

That's a really good idea. They sell those Minnie ears veils all over the parks, nobody would even notice. Then you could spend the extra $74,950 (because everybody has that as extra cash, right) on a year long vacation at DisneyWorld.

With the price of a full wedding now a days, Disney is not to far off. I know many people will say, no way, and how to do it cheaper.
