Something I need to share.....

I'm not trying to be disrespectful, I just think you guys are way offbase by calling her a genius when she really doesnt do much with Disney.

I admit i'm not inclined to like her brand of "music," so maybe i am coming at this from a biased point of few. I enjoy heavy metal like early Bon Jovi and some hardcore rap like Will Smith, etc, but mostly i stick to soundtracks of disney flicks these days.

Hey, we all love Disney, so please dont take my comments the wrong way, just expressing my disdain for her.

:hippie: PEACE Y'all!

Oh, thank goodness. :lmao: No worries, it's all good.:thumbsup2 I enjoy a ton of different genres of music...well maybe not opera and really indulgent gospel, but that is a whole other focus group.... but don't takee personal if someone doesn't care for something I like.

Medusa may be one of my favorite albums (cds!) EVER! It is so well loved that I'm on my 3rd jewel case for the cd since I have dragged it so many places (before I loaded it on my phone).

I would also propose that AL's version of "A Whiter Shade of Pale" is superior to the original! :worship:

Thanks Kevin...I'm putting this on my Christmas list for dh to get it for me! :cool1:

She also does a great version of the Paul Simon song "Something So Right".

Thanks for the heads up on this one.

Annie is one of Rick's favorites. His all time favorite of hers (so far) is "Put a Little Love in Your Heart" with Al Green from the Scrooged soundtrack.

Thinking this cd must be downloaded on Rick's Ipod for Christmas...:santa:

Merry Christmas Sweetie!

I won't say anything, since I when I said I didn't know who Annie Lennox was, it elicited gasps from Kevin in chat

Annie has recorded a new Christmas CD called A Christmas Cornucopia.
Last year Straight No Chaser was my Christmas purchase.
Perhaps this year it will be Annie Lennox.

(of course, now I also have "Here Comes the Rain Again" in my head!!!)

The very first Very Special Christmas CD is pretty much my favorite Christmas CD and Annie Lenox's Winter Wonderland is one of the reasons why. Also Whitney's Do You Hear What I Hear and Stevie Nick's Silent Night. I could almost listen to just those 3 songs all season.

Art is subjective, and if you consider her warbling and oversinging art, then

1. Has she done any work for Disney?
2. Why not?
3. What does she have against a first class operation like WD?

I like a few of his/her songs. "Why" features strong vocals, no doubt.

But that "If I Could Turn Back Time" song where she sings half naked to the sailors on the aircraft carrier is Over The Top (meaning outrageous, not the sly Stallone movie :confused3)

I'll be that if she could "Turn Back Time" she'd not spoil her artistic intergrity by doing the video !! LOL OMG :scared1:

Bottom line: I'm not gonna give her a chance.

I'm not sure if you're serious or not , but "If I Could Turn Back Time" is by Cher not Annie Lennox.
Cher is pretty fabulous as well , in a different way :)

Speaking of Cher , is anyone going to see "Burlesque" ? Some of the previews look great and some not so much....

I'll probably go see "Burlesque", but I'm not going in with very high expectations... :confused3

Let's agree to disagree on Annie Lennocks. Her voice is not that good, and frankly she's bizarre. I saw some cool acts at the Food and Wine festival Eat to the Beat that would blow her away, as you may already know.

first..........i do not consider myself a fan.........having said that.......... i am having a difficult time unraveling your logic.........and..........your knowledge of music seems to be quite limited......Disney music lumped in with and compared to pop contemporary??????????????

Thanks for the tip last week in chat, Kevin. I downloaded it from iTunes that night, but only got around to listening to it today. You're right. It's amazing. I've always been a fan of her voice and music anyway, but this is a great holiday CD!

Being a teenager in the 80's I was lucky enough to have watched the video of Bing Cosby and David Bowie singing Peace on Earth. Great memories, great times, not so great hair!

For those of you who think i dont know music because i mistook the tramp Annie Lennocks for the harlot Cher...let me introduce you to the best song ever recorded. people have been copying it for more than 50 years but nobody has heard it. its Richard Lanham and the Tempo Tones "On Your Radio"
Youtube it and get back to me.
i'm staying at the Bonnet Creek Waldorf Astoria if you wanna debate it in person

:dance3:

Not likely. I can't imagine anything good coming of that.
