Thanks, everyone. I think that I was just taken aback by how snotty and upset he was. I am not sure what "credit" means. I do know that his family commits to a certain amount they will try to raise, but I don't think they have to make up the difference if they don't reach the goal or anything. Not sure about prizes or incentives, or whatever. Plus, I think, and this has nothing to do with my colleague, but I'm pretty sensitive to snippiness right now. Let's just say that Chantix has crabbed out my normally mellow husband. This has not been an easy month for either of us, but I'm still hopefully optimistic. :hippie:

Janet, I think that movie is Semi-Pro, and I was disappointed to hear some reviews that it wasn't one of Will Ferrell's better movies. Sounds like your boys agreed with the reviews!

MF, so, you're eating cardboard, eh? Wheat cardboard? Toasted?! Congrats on 33 pounds! :thumbsup2

Tricia, have fun at the dentist? I go on Friday; I feel your pain! Does Daniel sit still for the visit? I don't remember the dentist that young ..

Jennifer, I mean to ask you ... what did you think of the season premieres of Little People, Big World? My whole family is into that show, and we treat it like "book club!" I have to say that I think Matt is presenting a very strong case for his DUI dismissal!

Well, I am "off to bed."

Hope everyone has a wonderful day. :grouphug:

And I need to work on my MIB shooting. Only 890k :sad2:

You definitely need to work on that! I could do that good with my eyes closed. :cool2:

:rotfl2:

Still annoying tho...just wait for their shavings next year.....:scratchin

Mwahaha! :maleficen

:tiptoe: Just sneaking in to hide everyone's alarm clock. :tiptoe:

:darth:

Nah, nah, na nah nah.... :p My light is on

You guys are so clever.

So, today, I get a call from my colleague who is totally making fun of me, calling me a blonde, for donating to the wrong year. I explained that I tried to contact the foundation and asked, "Well, ultimately the money all goes to the same place, right?"

His annoyed response was, "Yeah, but I don't credit for it this year."

Am I being petty? There was no thank you. No nothing other than that. I realize I made a mistake, but I tried to correct it, and the organization still gets the money. And my colleague still gets credit for it, just for last year instead of this year. Instead of being grateful that I gave until it hurt, he was ticked that he didn't get credit for the donation this year. What am I missing here? Those of you who do walks and so forth, if you really care about the cause and not who gets credit, is this the end of the world?

Wow! You would think the donation would be what mattered. Even if he was disappointed, he should have been gracious & thanked you for being so generous. Hopefully, he was having a VERY bad day.

Wake Up!

Not over until tax day. I'm the biggest loser at 33. The next closest is 18.

You're doing an awesome job with your diet.:woohoo:

Wanted to wish all a good day....and I promise to read later

Hope you have a good day too! :goodvibes

Morning Homies :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Good afternoon, Lawrence & Tracie. I'm never up early enough for a "good morning".:o

Morning Everyone!

I'm off in a few minutes to take Daniel to the dentist. This is the appointment that I had to reschedule because Joshua's MRI conflicted with the original time.

I may need heavy medication when I'm done.

Give Daniel a big hug for all of us, after he's done.

Ok Once you donate money to someone or something it should be graciously accepted . Many people can not afford to donate anything these days to anyone's cause. He should be very glad you are a giving person.

We did not win again at bowling. This team is very young. Only freshman and sophmores , No juniors and one senior. We are really progressing though my DD went from Bowling a 90/100 game to a pretty good 120 /160 game. the coach is really great and has 2 boys on the team so he is really into seeing them improve.

Got to go clean up the basement and do some :laundy: . Still trying to figure out what is wrong with my computer but seems like DH may have done some thing to it . :confused3 .

Try to be back later . I need to get moving no motivation today at all .

i just sweet talked the principal into letting me replace the stolen graphing calculator with a "used one"...wanted me to pay over $100:rolleyes1 (discounted price:headache: )

now, if the ebay peep didn't fluff up the description of the $30 one i bought, i'll be set...hee, heepopcorn::

still think they are wrong, wrong, wrong...shop teacher has them set all their stuff out in the hall...evidently, it was picked up by a passerby:confused3 ...yes, we do live in howdy-doodyville.

marci - Favre retired!

french onion soup sound good for dinner:idea: ; whatcha-all having tonight?

morning alll........sun is trying to peek out of the clouds.
jodie, you can't argue with an idiot. so many times i contribute out of guilt to a friendship to help their kids out on selling cards to candy to sponsoring someone in a walkathon. when i make a donation out of concern i feel better about it. i have never counted any of my donations for credit on tax filing.
not even my tithe. you can use your cancelled check for accountability on the 08 donation for tax purposes....or posting on your cc if you went that way.

give mike a cig, he'll feel better. or take the opposite tours at work so you won't have to be around when he is "a.m." mike all the time.

congrats to mother on the weight loss. i would like anything in chocolate for my rooting for you ...........don't we all get a share of the pot???

rose, hope dad is improving now. keep us posted. prayers continued and i figured out you know who.

tracie and the beans........counting down to vacay time. i wanna go too.

darkie and brab........so, you snuck out of bed last night to give me the raspberry..........that was so not nice of you....:snooty:
but then, it was something i would have done also....

jennifer, i bet you dream in numbers at night........some people do in color but i think yours are in black and white..

tricia...is this the good son that is going to the dentist or the one that is stuck on the patio?
i never was taken to the dentist until i was about 10 years old.
mine went before their first birthday..

kfish, i would write bad words on the swimmers head for next year.
that will teach them to stand you up.

mary, hey homie, you are going south soon also, eh...

damo, where are you now?
SC or up north?

if i forgot you by name, i know you by heart still.
just moving slowly and on my first pot of coffee. :surfweb:

Mac I can not even tell you how ready I am to leave and go south now :rotfl: !!! :goodvibes

I guess we should get ready to move again are we already looking for a new home ?? We are on like page 180 something already do they kick us out at 250 still?? we may crack that by this weekend at the rate we are going . :rotfl2: :lmao:

Hey everyone...

Checking in for the evening. Just went to the County Swimming Awards dinner and guess what....none of our boys showed up

But at least I got to go home early. Looking gorgeous and no where to go ;)

The nerve of those boys!

Lori - Welcome to Best Buy Computer Hell!! We had this issue last fall. Hubby was on phone to customer service and eventually scored a $1,000 gift card to buy a new computer. So far, this one is OK.

:) jennifer

Okay, can you get me the number that he called. I do not want to deal directly with this store again. I already know they are just going to give me something in the store that they have determined to be comparable.

Totally agree. I even feel that way about things like MVMCP, etc. at Disney. But a lot is probably because we go so rarely. People I talk to who can go to WDW/Uni regularly enjoy the different atmosphere and activities from these kind of things. DS14 will watch the food channel for hours at a time, so I'm sure he would enjoy it! But I agree - I'm there for the rides. Although I do hope to sometime make it to Disney for free dining since I'm all about food (eating, not watching it being made!) too!

The thing with the parties is that they have all the extra stuff but the crowds are lower so you can do the extras and still get in all the rides you want. They are great!

I am here. I have survived Day 1 Orientation.

And I need to work on my MIB shooting. Only 890k :sad2:

Heck I could beat that with my eyes closed too! In my dreams!

#2 & #3 DS off to the movies, #2 treating:eek: must be something in the air...or those big boy paychecks he's finally getting;) so shocked, he asked me today to check out money markets, etc. for him:scratchin :faint: :thumbsup2 . Was worried he was going to keep buying toys

Sounds like the boys had a great evening. And that DS #2 has his head on really good! You should be very proud!

We're having the same weather here!

So we had no snow at all. How about you? Oh, and it is 50 and rising today.

I sort of have a rant. And guess I'm wondering if I'm being too petty. I'll let you tell me:

So, I work with this guy who is in GA (I'm in NJ). We are friendly enough at work (via IM, phone, email), and a few years ago he hit me up for a donation for an autism walk. His son has autism, and they walk every year. Every year I give, and I've never complained to him about the constant "Cure Autism Now" emails and pamphlets I now receive as a result, etc ... but I'm digressing. This is my gripe: so I get the email again this year to donate. Except I lost the email, and I've been busy and not working the same tour as my colleague, and I just wanted to get it done while I was thinking about it, and so I googled his last name + Cure Autism. And I thought I found the right page (it has a big picture of his son on it). And this year since we got a big tax return, the donation I made was very substantial. Well, after I got the confirmation for my donation, I realized that I had found the page for the 2007 Walk. Not the 2008 Walk. :headache:

So, I forwarded my colleague the confirmation and apologized and asked him to let me know if he knew who I could call to correct the mistake. In the meantime, I also forwarded my confirmation to Cure Austism Now, explained the situation and asked them to credit the donation for 2008, instead of 2007.

Several days have gone by, and I hadn't heard from either my colleague or Cure Autism.

Those of you who do walks and so forth, if you really care about the cause and not who gets credit, is this the end of the world?

That was very inappropriate of him. He should have been thankful for what you did. He needs to do anything further to try to get it credited to the correct year. You are a wonderful person!

Wake Up!

Not over until tax day. I'm the biggest loser at 33. The next closest is 18.

Woo Hoo! I think you probably have it in the bag.

Morning Everyone!

I'm off in a few minutes to take Daniel to the dentist. This is the appointment that I had to reschedule because Joshua's MRI conflicted with the original time.

I may need heavy medication when I'm done.

Hope things went well at the dentist.

That guy should be ashamed of himself.

I hope Mike is feeling better soon. I know that has to be extremely difficult.

Uh yeah, if the teacher has them sit them in the hall then the school should be responsible, not you. Good luck with the eBay one.

I had not heard Farve had retired. I figured he would this year though. Gonna miss him.

I will be having some sort of baseball field junk. Tonight is season opener. I have to run the concession stand.

Well I will be out of town Friday - Monday so I won't be here to add to the posts. I sure hope you guys don't give me that much to catch up on. :headache:

tricia...is this the good son that is going to the dentist or the one that is stuck on the patio?
i never was taken to the dentist until i was about 10 years old.
mine went before their first birthday..

Welllll... both boys are "good"... but this is the one that I regularly threaten to stick out back. ;)

We didn't take Joshua to the dentist until his 3rd birthday. Our dentist assured us that there was no reason for a checkup before then. He took one look at 3 year old Joshua and said, "ooops." There was a LOT of stuff wrong with Joshua's teeth. We wound up going to a pediatric dentist and having a full mouth rehab (under sedation) done on Joshua before he was 4. Because of the family history, the ped dentist recommended bringing Daniel in for his first checkup when he turned 1. No big surprise, but Daniel is following in Joshua's teeth problem footsteps... however, we are catching the problems and dealing with them before they get too bad.

Daniel handled the visit okay. He wasn't thrilled, but Dr. Tom is really great. He told Daniel what he was going to do, then he was in and out of Daniel's mouth in under 10 minutes. We have to go back on the 17th for him to do the other side of his mouth, but I'll worry about that when the time comes.

For now, I'm going to go prepare myself for Family Night at McDonald's tonight. Oh, joy of joys.... I don't particularly like McDs in the first place... then add crowded and full of very young children... Woo friggin Hoo!

hey gang!
getting ready for tomorrows big snow/ice/ rain event.

just bought and ugly pair of Vans at the store. yeah, ugly. BUT, they have enough room in the toe box and I did not tell but i am having surgery on the left big toe in May. at this point, they can cut it off. it is not right in there, something could be loose/floating and I just want it fixed. this is the toe I broke last April. some days, it just throbs. the good news is i can wear the walking cast I ALREADY BOUGHT AND THE CRUTCHES TOO after the surgery and there we save some moola. after a few days, a walking boot, and a couple of weeks later a real shoe. :thumbsup2

just saw that the D & D co-creator died. only 69. I have never played that game, but know a few folks who love it.

anyone here into L O S T ???
just got next weeks tv guide. should be a gooooood episode.

we are eating out of the freezer. or should i say , i will cook something from the freezer. tomorrow is spaghetti.

gosh is it dark out. and 48 degrees.

oh, we have gained 2 hours and 29 minutes of daylight, and we change clocks sunday morning!

did all the reading on DL.
I can tell you all, i have changed my mind. for those prices at those 3 hotels- i can go to DW for a week and eat and have a place to sleep and park passes too. (for several people) vs 2 people. so, DL is out. the other thing is , if we do DW, i can go over to Uni too. sure we could do that in DL, but, it just did not have enough to entice me. being able to throw in the meal plan at disney is a plus too. we did the basic one and it was soooooo cost efective for us.

well, time to watch MEDIUM I taped it last night.

stopping by to say :wave2:

I've read everything....but haveta ketchup from page 182  :headache: :sad2:

Back to work....be done soon

Not a 'workout' nite...hope to take a few hours and ketchup tonite ;)

Hope everyone is having a good Tuesday!

french onion soup sound good for dinner:idea: ; whatcha-all having tonight?

Made chocolate chip pancakes and scrambled eggs for the kids. DH and I had baked mahi mahi, steamed veggies and 12 grain bread.

Yeah, and we're not mean. . .kids don't like baked fish. But I made their dinner and wanted to stuff pancakes in until I choked. . .they smelled sooooo good.

And, me being such a brain. . . I ordered 5 pizzas from a friends son to support his youth group at their church. . .then I ordered 8 boxes of girl scout cookies to support another friend's ds's troop. . . WE WON'T EAT ANY OF IT!!!!! Of course I'm in trouble cuz it cost $71 total. He's taking the pizza's to his work to sell them off. . .I was gonna give them away. And cookies went in deep freeze and he will dole them out to the kids in lunch boxes from time to time. So I in twubble today :confused3 Really I think I'm in trouble cuz the pizza's, which I ordered over 2 months ago before the life style change look absolutely delicious. They are hand made and 3 of them are pepperoni and mushroom. . our fav. So he saw them and it was on. . .

We are in the middle of a crazy blizzard!!! I to leave work early because the snow piled up over 6 inches in just over 2 hours. . . the roads were treacherous!! I couldn't believe it. DH told dd11 she could wear her converse this morning. . .the have those little holes in the side ya know. . . because he said we weren't going to get much snow. . . . :lmao: :lmao:

dd was MAD when she came in the house from school. . .first thing she did was jump all over dh for telling her it would be ok to wear the shoes

It's been a long time since I saw the roads as bad as they are. I grew up in Illinois and learned to drive in this stuff, especially with a winter birthday. Having said that, I feel very confident in driving in any type of weather because we have it all. I was actually really nervous driving today, but I think it was stupid hour on the highway. . . was there a new episode of Jerry Springer showing this afternoon or something??

We are really progressing though my DD went from Bowling a 90/100 game to a pretty good 120 /160 game. the coach is really great and has 2 boys on the team so he is really into seeing them improve.

Is this a school sponsored bowling team? I've never heard of a school having one. At least, they're improving. Next year will be their year. :thumbsup2

:confused3 Whatever my hubby gets for takeout. I'm still not feeling well. I haven't cooked in over a week, & I'm really getting sick of takeout. YUK

Ewww, I remember that lovely experience from Kenny's elementary school days. Good luck with that! ;)

I have a broken toe that didn't heal well also. That's just one more place my arthritis has taken up house in. :headache: I feel for you. Let us know how your surgery goes.

stopping by to say :wave2:

 See ya tonight!

I am going to try to get on the computer down stairs I think I have found the problem with my pictures and my get to post them tonight . :thumbsup2

Looking forward to them. I'll have snacks ready & waiting. ::popcorn::

Hope everyone is having a good Tuesday!

Has it been raining long? My niece & her 2 friends went to the parks today. They're spending tonight at CW. I hope it doesn't rain on them all day.

DH and I had baked mahi mahi, steamed veggies and 12 grain bread.

Yum.... That sounds good. Wish I was having that instead of more takeout. :sad2:

Evening people.

Janet - Did see the headlines about Ben - but haven't read it in detail. I  Ben - he must be Pittsburgh's most eligible bachelor - looks, celebrity and money.

Jodie - I actually fell asleep during the last half hour so I didn't see Matt take the witness stand. Will have to catch on the repeats. I have watched every episode of LPBW.

Last night was not a good night at the Jaws household. Jr. had homework problems and on Mondays he is to go Sylvan Learning for special tutoring from 4:30-6:30. Well he had a bunch of homework, and Mr. Jaws calls me at work at 4pm complaining about the teacher needing a PowerPoint presentation. We had purchased Office 2007 about 3 weeks ago for this presentation. Well now, the school computers can't read 2007 and it needed to be in Office 2003. We don't have 2003 as the Best Buy computer sucked and crashed, and now I can't find the old 2003 CD-ROM to reload. He was yelling, the kid was yelling, and I am at the office trying to work on tax returns. So, I come home to see if I can find Office 2003 and hope we don't have to redo this whole presentation.

Long story short - (too late for that now;)) you can evidently save files into the old '03 format with the '07 software. So, :cool1: did not have to redo it. Now that I was home, I wasn't going back to the office. So, I did what any hard-working stressed out woman would do - I took a hot bath. We do not usually keep alcohol in the house - or this would have been the right way to finish the evening.

So between the stress and the bath, I fell asleep during LPBW and only caught about 10 minutes of the next show.

Oh well - tomorrow is another day.

This day hasn't been too bad as I had a massage scheduled tonight.:cool1:  Feeling pretty good right now.

:) jennifer

jennifer, i bet you dream in numbers at night........some people do in color but i think yours are in black and white..

Good One. I always hate those dreams where I have missed doing a client's return and I didn't realize the due date was already here. Too early for those dreams (nightmare) yet.

:)

Lori - I will ask Mr. Jaws for the number he called. I think he went through corporate Best Buy and not the Geek Squad.

Right now Mr. Jaws is busy doing the bills, so I leave him alone.;)
