Sneaking on ...

Tricia, I'm not sure about burnt peeps. But, prior to them being burnt, I would've recommended Goo Be Gone. Now, I'd recommend you write to Heloise! Heloise@goodhousekeeping.com :goodvibes

Lori, what happened to the girl who killed the kids? I mean legally. Were the parents held responsible as well?

Rose, hang in there. You continue to be in my thoughts.

MF, how IS the diet going? Is the comp over yet?

Barb, make any headway with the salon owner over his assinine policies?

Janet, how's ma today? What movie did the boys go see? I am sorry I don't watch Sarah, but Mike does. I can give you his email so you can chat about it!

I sort of have a rant. And guess I'm wondering if I'm being too petty. I'll let you tell me:

So, I work with this guy who is in GA (I'm in NJ). We are friendly enough at work (via IM, phone, email), and a few years ago he hit me up for a donation for an autism walk. His son has autism, and they walk every year. Every year I give, and I've never complained to him about the constant "Cure Autism Now" emails and pamphlets I now receive as a result, etc ... but I'm digressing. This is my gripe: so I get the email again this year to donate. Except I lost the email, and I've been busy and not working the same tour as my colleague, and I just wanted to get it done while I was thinking about it, and so I googled his last name + Cure Autism. And I thought I found the right page (it has a big picture of his son on it). And this year since we got a big tax return, the donation I made was very substantial. Well, after I got the confirmation for my donation, I realized that I had found the page for the 2007 Walk. Not the 2008 Walk. :headache:

So, I forwarded my colleague the confirmation and apologized and asked him to let me know if he knew who I could call to correct the mistake. In the meantime, I also forwarded my confirmation to Cure Austism Now, explained the situation and asked them to credit the donation for 2008, instead of 2007.

Several days have gone by, and I hadn't heard from either my colleague or Cure Autism.

So, today, I get a call from my colleague who is totally making fun of me, calling me a blonde, for donating to the wrong year. I explained that I tried to contact the foundation and asked, "Well, ultimately the money all goes to the same place, right?"

His annoyed response was, "Yeah, but I don't credit for it this year."

Am I being petty? There was no thank you. No nothing other than that. I realize I made a mistake, but I tried to correct it, and the organization still gets the money. And my colleague still gets credit for it, just for last year instead of this year. Instead of being grateful that I gave until it hurt, he was ticked that he didn't get credit for the donation this year. What am I missing here? Those of you who do walks and so forth, if you really care about the cause and not who gets credit, is this the end of the world?

Not over until tax day. I'm the biggest loser at 33. The next closest is 18.

Morning Fletch.
You can check my ticker to see how long you have left.

CONGRATS ON THE 33!!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: I have not had much luck in losing weight over the years. Perhaps you and Wendy will inspire me.

Are you doing exercise as well as diet?

:) jennifer

Morning Jodie.

About your rant. Many causes have "incentive" prizes if you raise a certain amount of money, and a deadline to turn in all donations. So if you gave to 2007, it is probably past the deadline and he really won't get credit for it to earn his prizes.

However, the important thing to realize is you gave a donation to a wonderful cause that may help his son in the future. He really should not have given you any grief over this - it makes him sound really petty and ungrateful for your past donations.

Feel Good About Your Donation!:)

I really don't think you are being petty......a thank you for the generous donation would have been the right thing to do - as well as a "let's see if I can getin touch with someone and get it credited for this year."

Some people just don't "get it" and while he has a very hectic life with a child with autism, doesn't give him the right to forget about common courtesy.

hope you are able to get it credited for this year - if not - don't sweat it

you did what you could and tried to rectify it.....you are a great person:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Morning homies!!!

MF - Great job on 33 - That money is yours!!!!:thumbsup2 Just keep it up. What diet are you following?? (did you already answer that somewhere along the line?)

I limit my calories to about 1000 a day. No carbs, no calories, no taste mulch type edibles. I'm dreaming of the chili dogs I will inhale when I win.

can you mainline a chili dog:lmao: (don't think i've ever had one, generally, not a big weiner fan:confused3 )

jodie - the boys went to see the wil ferrel basketball movie, don't know the name...said it was "ok" I'll give the same verdict for the finale of terminator, weird way of telling the story thru memory of another terminator:confused: While i'm confused, what "credit" exactly is your friend talking about? I always though when people collected for charity, other than administrative overhead it did go into a big "pot"...unless the child is getting a premium or present from the agency as in kids getting a toy when they sell so much junk for PTA or perhaps you're making a direct contribution to the child's "account-as in used for special camp, classes"? Make you wonder.

jennifer - didja see big ben (i'm not a fan, still think he's a fool for not wearing a helmet when biking); got $102 MILLION dollars for the next 8 years:eek: (the honey's will really be knocking down his door now). $25 M just for signing, another $11 guaranteed.

tricia - no peep left behind, so did he did in vain or did he leave his mark on the jeans? jk:lmao: Rather surprised to see there are entire sites devoted to peep "worship":upsidedow. Granted, i'm not the crafty type but, what idjit would glue them to a picture frame?wouldn't it attract insects, etc...ew.

On my way out the door for work...I cannot believe how busy this day is gonna be...(tonite will be fine tho!) ...hoping to hop on and ketchup during 'in-between' clients today :rolleyes1

Wanted to wish all a good day....and I promise to read later

Morning Everyone!

I'm off in a few minutes to take Daniel to the dentist. This is the appointment that I had to reschedule because Joshua's MRI conflicted with the original time.

I may need heavy medication when I'm done.

Before I go... Jodie, donations are like gifts. They should be graciously received, warmly thanked, and that's it. No strings, no complaints, no whining that you didn't do it right or give the right thing or the right amount or the right way. Period.
