I want to go to Daytona next week. I need to put everything on hold for 2 days and just be with Brad doing something completely fun. I seriously need it.
Tricia - if you can swing it GO! I am also trying to go away with hubby for at least one night next weekend. We haven't had any time away for quite a while. I can quit work next Saturday at noon and get at least one night away and return sometime Sunday afternoon. We would leave DS with Grandpa. GO GO GO - you will be better after your trip. Sending some:hug: and:grouphug: to you.

Just in case you didn't see it before I do not want any of your snow.
Lori, I second that. We don't get snow days at the office, so snow days for me, means -1) get the kid somewhere for the day 2) get to office or worse (drive to client's office) on the bad roads And Most Important - try to do both before 8am. Come on Spring!

Doing the "ketchup" dance.

So, anyway, after I tell them that getting a bereavement day for a family pet, but not an 'uncle' and needing 2 weeks notice for it, is wrong and they need to readdress their company policy!

Have I made your day??? :lmao:

Yes you did. How do you give 2 weeks notice for a funeral???????????:confused3

And yes - I would not leave Bubba alone (and certainly not when he was that sick!)

:)

I hope so...I'm starting Monday at a new tanning salon that is opening up in the shopping center Bubba does karate in....matter of fact...it's 2 doors down from the karate school...Not even 5 minutes away! :thumbsup2

Good for you Barb

I told them that I, and everyone else in that office, WORK to LIVE, not LIVE to WORK...like them :sad2:

Barb - do they really work that hard? I was getting the feeling they were a*holes and only wanted THEIR employees to work??

we have now gained 1 hour and 17 minutes of daylight.:goodvibes

the groundhog gang is on the most wanted list of every person living in either the north or mid atlantic or new england states.:hourglass

43 days until spring:3dglasses

1 week until v-d day:love:

6.7 months until my vacation.:thumbsup2

Penny - THANKS. Love the daylight, spring and VDay alert. As I have not planned any vacation yet, I will be happy for you.:)

I can't believe I almost missed Survivor tonight. I completely forgot it was starting again.

Fans vs. Favorites and Johnny Fairplay was voted off!

What else is going on tonight?
Yes, I missed it too. My coworkers wanted to watch WVU-Pitt bball at 7pm in the hotel bar. So we obliged.

Man - those youngin's can drink. I had one Strawberry Dacquiri the whole night and water with our meal. When my partner and I left at 9:00 they were on their 5th beer. Hope they can be productive this morning.;)

I will have to watch the Survivor episode on the website.

Well, I am all "ketched-up" now. And apparently, I have been talking to myself this morning. (miss you fletch)

Need to start getting ready. Last day out of town on business until about August.:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I hate check out mornings, as you have to get up a little early to pack everything.

If you need to get up early tomorrow, set your alarms, as I will take Saturday morning off from the wakeup calls.

By the way - how much does Fletch make for this job? Do we get time and a half?

:)

Thanks for the tips and I'm looking forward to telling everyone about the trip:woohoo:.

Shawn

Shawn - first of all - WELCOME!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: I'm definitely not the Universal expert, but there are a bunch of them here so I'm sure you'll find out everything you need! And we're a friendly bunch, if a bit strange! :dance3:

Quick summary. I'm off today!

Last night I really WANTED to go to that stupid meeting at the middle school. Actually, I even went TO the meeting. But when I got there, they were handing out packets labeled with your child's name where you checked in (the "were you here checkpoint"). And inside the packed was a printout of every powerpoint slide they were going to discuss. And the previous group (6th grade parents) were STILL in there and it was into our start time, and the meeting was obviously going to be an hour and a half, and I only had one question and the packet answered it, and I passed third grade reading and figured I could read the slides on my own in five minutes.....I opted to take my packet and just come home!

Really, Eric will be taking exactly ONE class at the middle school next year - GYM! Everything else he will be going to the high school for. Since my question was "will 8th grade gym be offered first hour and what time will that be" and it showed that in the packet, I was all set! Not like it was the kind of question I could even raise my hand and ask, you know, "Um, if my child will only be taking gym here next year, will it be offered first hour to accommodate his high school schedule?" Yeah, THAT would be applicable to the rest of the 400 people in the auditorium! So I'm REALLY glad I didn't have to stay!

So I came home and drank my wine and cheese and went in the hot tub and went to bed instead! Doesn't that sound like more fun! :yay: I meant to come say hi to you guys, but had too much wine and couldn't keep my eyes open. Don't know how you guys can PUI - I can't focus on the screen without my eyes closing!

Anyways - I'm off to shower, go out to breakfast with Eric, take Matt and GF to the mall, go out to lunch with Stephen and then go to a soccer game. I'll try to catch up later - I did want to respond to Barb's story and Tricia's pics (loved them!).

Morning everyone......

It's FRIDAY for all you peeps who don't work the weekends..... (lucky)......

Shawn, I agree with everything macraven said..... I'd rather wait at the front of the line for the parking garage and get in right as they open and get a close spot, than wait that same amount time further back in the line. The onsite crowds filter in around 10:30-11 and you will notice the wait times jump. If the park opens at 9 (officially), then they usually open by 8:30.... at IOA, the coasters and Spiderman are open; at the Studios, Shrek and Jimmy Neutron are open (they are the first two attractions when you walk straight in....crowded with 1hr+ waits at that 10:30-11:30am mark).

Barb - do they really work that hard? I was getting the feeling they were a*holes and only wanted THEIR employees to work??

::yes:: ....actually, they DO work that hard. It's not unusual for them to work a 12-14 hour day everyday....AND weekends.... (THAT is the problem with having your business in your home.....too easy to work 'off time') They just don't know how to treat their employees .... :sad2: (btw, they really have NO family between them AND they don't have/nor want/ children)..... (good thing for the kids they don't want).....

I was wondering WHY you were up so early :headache: Glad to hear that is the end of the traveling  (for awhile anyway....) That wasn't soooo bad...as I thought you were traveling until April :confused3

Uh...I don't know what Fletch gets, but he's 'off' Saturdays and Sundays....the weekend ya know ;)

Hola!

Got home a little while ago after the diving champs. Our boy came in 12th!!

(That's a good thing) :thumbsup2

Last practice this afternoon....and two days of champs and then we are DONE!

Hitting the sack....I'm wiped!

The meet will go very late tomorrow so if I don't see ya, happy Friday!

Hi KFed.....If coming in 12th is a good thing...well, then I'm :yay: for you guys!!! Should almost be done....right??

Last night I really WANTED to go to that stupid meeting at the middle school. Actually, I even went TO the meeting. Don't blame you...I'd left too...especially, if you've had a kid that "been there, done that" and you only had ONE question.... :headache: Enjoy the day off with the boys...

Happy Friday All!!!!!

This is the one day a year that I can honestly say I like the IRS :lmao: Got our tax return on the day it was promised :thumbsup2 efiling kicks butt!!!

so, from what I did not yet respond to yesterday it looks like we need to build a biosphere for lori - and have her transported in a bubble car :confused3 :lmao: so that she is not effected by the elements. other than that, I would say start looking into real estate in South Carolina....damo did it, hear its pretty nice too - then you can be near Tricia (sort of)! Oh, and the dog is just being spiteful......they can get that way - dumb dog!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

tricia - I really loved your pictures!! looks like alot of fun for Joshua!! I really hope that you and Brad get to go to the race next week.......You two need that time to yourselves every once in a while. You have been through alot in recent months and you need to give your brain a rest!!! keeping everything crossed for you

miss jodie - where are the late night ramblings that kept us so amused the other day.....you tease us with a header then no story?!?! hope you had a good night at work and that you can entertain us with the shenanigans of Savvie kitty today :lovestruc :cool1:

Darkie - hope you are continuing to get better - hydration and rest :thumbsup2

barb - just glad to got out of a bad situation with a back up plan already in place.....did they want the family to hold off on the funeral to meet with their schedule/rules??? - pfffttttt - life does not revolve around them and their company you did the right thing and like you said, can sleep with a clear conscience!! Kudos to you!!!

janet - I posted this to you last night, but just to say it again, the beer distributor that we go to is going to be carrying LANDSHARK beer starting on Monday!! may have to buy a case and while drinking it think of you ;) :lmao: I agree with mom....you need a vacation - especially one that does not involve getting bug bites and coming home sick :thumbsup2

marcie - we have the same kind of plan (HSA) except ours is $1000. We can carry over any leftover balances from previous years as well. They pay the first $1000 (plus any we carried over) then we pay the next $1000 - once that is done they pay 80% to our 20% up to $5000, then they cover 100%. The first two years on the plan we hardly used anything......but so far this year in the first two months we are quickly burning through the pot :scared1: :scared1: I am glad you were able to get your one question answered and not have to sit through what very well could have been a 2 hour thing!! Glad you got your wine and cheese and hot tub in as well.....:thumbsup2

wendy - :cheer2: :cheer2: great job on the 15 pounds!!!! keep it up!!!!

mac - HOWDY!!!!! Did you get your room for October? I talked with the person I was waiting for and things were taken care of :thumbsup2

katie - great news about the swim meet - good luck on the rest and you have yourself a great Friday!!

penny - thank you for the daylight info:worship: I noticed each day we gain more and more moments of light, didn't realize it was a whole hour and 17 minutes  :cool1: Did you ever hear back about that job? did I miss a post about it?

Hey there to Rose , Todd and Mary and WELCOME to Shawn!!!!!! If I missed you on this go around, I will ketchup again shortly!!!

thanks for the link

here's one off the boards i just found - always thought the treehouse would be very cool to visit, cannot imagine how much they'd cost though:scared:

I wonder if they will be considered part of SSR?

Totally random and meaningless to anyone but me. . .

I am working at my desk while eating dindin (grilled chick & steamed veggies) and my dd11 comes in. . . so I ask her if she would please get the salt and pepper for her poor, overworked momma. . . a few minutes later (:confused3 ) she comes back with a pepper shaker and sets it down. . . I said, did you forget the salt. . . she responds, no, I put salt in there so now it's spepper and you only have to shake one thing! :flower3:

Aaaaawwwwww  :lovestruc

Awww, how sweet!

And congrats on the 15 pounds!

uummmm that "snake" looks suspiciously like. . . well, like. . ya know:confused3

It is not getting dark here now until after 6. I guess it must be because we are farther south than you guy.

since this is a tolerant thread, i will add my pennys worth.

i did not really thrill that much for some sections of the MGM/Hollywood park. that of course is just my lowly opinion

i hate flying.

i love food.

i hate folks who are mean to kids and pets.

i drink lots of coffee. love coffee. mmmm coffee.

i am sooooo thrilled about the super bowl win. wore my
giants hat to the store today. only got a few looks. tooooo bad. the better team won.

added a few things to my bucket list. see below.

Well I don’t think you are the only one with that opinion. Ally hates MGM. Michael and I like to go to ride RNRC & TOT, he likes the Stunt Show but that really covers it for us.

bucket list add ons

snorkeling
driving a mack truck
go to a real afternoon tea

I have never snorkeled either. Think I will add it to my bucket list too!

The worst thing about that is I have been to Hawaii and was supposed to snorkle in Hanama Bay but we ran out of time and didn’t get to do it. You see I unfortunately listened to my not so dh and we hiked to the top of Diamond Head. I swear I am still going to kill him for that one. When we got back down the first thing I did was call him to let him know he was in big trouble!

Anyone here ever hiked Diamond Head? Well lets just say it took at least 4 hours to climb up and back down the stupid thing. Even worse, we got the same view on the boat out to the sub ride we took.

Had Chrissy and Matthew's conferences this afternoon. DH couldn't make it to conferences b/c he was home half a day yest b/c of snowstorm, had lots of work to do at work today.
Went ok overall. Chrissy's was pretty good :thumbsup2 I'm glad the teachers and the team were positive of her improvements.
Matthew's conference went ok, a little of the "blah, blah, blah" and "needs improvement in this and that socially" stuff from the social worker  But overall was ok :)
Matthew is going up in a new math group- with some of the other gifted students. Matthew is in the gifted program at school. He has advanced to learning basic algebra since begining of school. He is also learning all the other math stuff for 5th grade.

Way to go Chrissy & Mathew!

i'm finally waking up:rolleyes1 time for a nice, hot soak.

inspired - think i'll add an at-home hot tub to my bucket list.[/SIZE]

You woke up & I went to bed. Glad the meds finally wore off. I want a big outdoor hot tub one of these days too. Sounds wonderful.

fyi, senate sent the "slightly amended" tax abatement to the Pres for siggie...

we shall see what we shall see...

added in $300 for srs who earned @ least $3 K either earnings or Social Security, interesting twist

They should also fix it so those of you that are caring for a parent can get the $300 for them too. Idiots!

Hi Guys, I’m going to Universal on the Feb. 18th :woohoo: and need some help. First how is the meal plan? Second what would you do first if you were me? And third what is the one thing (not the shows) that is a must do?

Hi Shawn! Welcome. We are a great bunch, if I say so myself. Hope you stick around.

How cute is a Kindergarten program? OMG! I wanted to cry it was so sweet!

Thanks for the pics. He is just too cute! I always got teary eyed at those things. I bet that really surprises you, doesn’t it!

Fans vs. Favorites and Johnny Fairplay was voted off!

Sounds like it will be an interesting Survivor. My favorite is still Rupert.

psssssssssssstttttr. janet - my beer distributor will start carrying LANDSHARK starting on Monday!!!
:yay: :yay::yay: :dance3: :dance3: :yay: :yay: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :yay: :yay: :yay:

So you have a beer distributor huh?

Hello everyone . Well the busy time has begun and I am starting to go a little nutty  . I spent the morning at a PTA meeting and the main point of conversation was CHEESE SANDWICHES and people who don't pay their kids hot lunch bills :lmao: , It is amazing what people will fight over at these meetings .

Now that must have been a very interesting conversation. How much can you say about a cheese sandwich? Why is it their business if someone isn’t paying their kids lunch bill and how does the PTA know? I am so glad I don’t spend time at the PTA meetings here. Afraid I would have to speak my mind. Maybe you will like this one…Ally has probably eaten at the school 5 or 6 times all year, she takes her lunch. We sent $20 when the school year started way back in August. Well they keep sending home an envelope for me to sen more money because she is down to $7.60. She probably won’t even use that before the year is up. Why are they using the money/time to send me these every week?

Off to bed I am really tired. I went back and did a little :surfweb: and can't believe how much you guys can yack :lmao: :rotfl2: . I need to get out of all this stuff I need to do and spend more time here :surfweb: :rotfl: .

You do need to get those priorities straight.

BTW I ordered the Sleepnumber bed today . :woohoo: . I am so looking forward to it . After we sleep in it for awhile I will let everyone who wanted to know about it how it is . I am sure we will  LOVE IT . The only thing is it is very expensive I am a little shocked I even spent this much money on a bed .

Can’t wait to hear how you like the bed.

What happened?? :confused3 I went to submit last post and boards were down...database error? Are we going down tonite? I knew they were running slow :headache:

They went down so I you guys couldn’t post to much for me to catch up on!

I hope a good rest does you better for tomorrow...I'm sorry all that talking about myself gave you a headache.... (...no more HH job discussions...promise)

:guilty:

Nope, wasn’t your story. I woke up with it yesterday & it just kept getting worse throughout the day.

Hey all....got an email from Lawrence tonite.

He says he is very bummed he can't be here and he wanted you all to know that Mary Eva is doing "great" now and he says "hi" to everyone....

Tell him hi for me. Glad Mary Eva is doing great!

I was being a little picky, wasn’t I. I will probably end up somewhere around Georgia or the Carolina’s, maybe Tennessee. Mikey wants to buy land that covers the corners of Tennessee, Georgia & Alabama so he can have a hunting guide service. The Tennessee river valley is beautiful.

Yep, dumb dog! At least she is tiny so her spots are too.

DM - I hope you are feeling better.

Jodie - Where is that Savannah story?

Have a terrific day everyone!

never been to Hawaii

it is actually not on my to visit list.

from here the plane ride would be death.

from utah, possible, but long.

i just hate being in that damn seat so long! i cannot sleep on a plane.

San Fran and San Diego and Santa Barbara , Seattle and Vega$ are at the top. those we will do when we move.

Yeah, the Savannah story?

WHERE IS IT?

and how is our sweet Daniel today???????
