::yes:: ....to annoy you :teeth:

Noooooooooooo

:snooty:

I just love your smilies!

And yeah I think the dog does it to annoy me.

I'm thinkin yer crazy

Now that goes without saying! I do have 4 kids!

Yeah, like that'll happen.

I might say something to her, but it won't be "hi".

Get off the pins and needles already. Jodie left us high and dry. :sad2:

So what did you say to her? Never mind, we can't say bad words in here. ;)

Yep, gotta get off them. It hurts. :rolleyes1

Actually, the main reason why I asked the in laws to do the babysitting is because I had a feeling this was coming. Carol isn't up to watching the boys for almost 4 days, Deb doesn't have the patience to watch the boys for almost 4 days (long story), so if I had asked "them" to take care of the boys, it would have fallen mostly on Mom. And, if Mom could throw up a roadblock at the last minute to cause our plans to be cancelled, she would. She is bizarre about us doing stuff without the kids. Always has been. It's not like we leave them often or in the hands of strangers. Our last night away from the children was August, for one night, for our anniversary. :confused3

I don't think it has anything to do with Joshua's seizures, although that gives her a new tool to poke me with. She has always been this way about the grandchildren. My mom was a great parent... and she is a wonderful grandparent... but she has trouble with letting ME be the parent sometimes. KWIM?

I am so glad I live an hour away from my mom. My sister on the other hand lives on the same street.

:confused3
I hear ya...I get what you're saying  Your Mom should realize you need 'couple' time and time AWAY from the boys... When you guys are 'good' and happy, you are better parents. My Mom used to get angry with us cuz we never asked her to watch Bubba....he always did everything with us..... Now, I need to give her 2-3months notice :headache: So, we don't ask anymore

Cause if you don't get the alone time you end up like me. I would rather go off with the kids and leave dh at home. :rolleyes1

start them engines already!

I love him!!!!!

He is pretty cute too!

had to pick up my mom's ring, had it resized, took it down to her & she told me i look like crap...said I need a vacation:idea: ; she forgot we just went on one in Dec. lol. at least she still knows who she is each day when she wakes up:thumbsup2

Good ole mom!

Thanks for the clarification Marcie.

Last night at the baseball meeting one of the booster club officers came in late with his ashes. At first I thought he had been working on something and didn't know he had it on his face then finally realized it was for Ash Wednesday.:upsidedow

This happened to me ALL the time when we used to go to the morning mass in Michigan (here they have 6:30am and 6:30pm, so for some reason I never make the early one! ). All day people would come up to me with their fingers out towards my forehead saying 'Hey, you got something here!" I'd be dodging them saying "Yeah, I know!"

Lori, that story came from Jodie's wildly popular post on the CB: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1710189

I did read some of that thread Jodie, but never commented there. As others have said, I enjoy reading the CB, but tend to stay out of most stuff. But I did want you to know that I spoke with a Jodie yesterday on the phone and everywhere I had to annotate who I spoke with I spelled her name JODIE in honor of you (she never spelled it for me)!

uh marcie, did you just get that...

yes

Are you making fun of me for being blond? Or just musically challenged in general? ;)

yes, i am catholic. I did not eat meat on wednesday.

Woo hoo! And we share the same birthday too!

Hey, stop talking .... back away from the keyboard ..... I am moving a little slow this morning and need extra time to catch up.....

Crud, what was I going to say?

Tricia, your health insurance sounds like ours. We have a high deductible and then it pays 20% of the bill after the deductible is met. This is a new plan from last year and is the latest of cutbacks in our company. I work for a major national corporation, so you'd think they would be able to negotiate something better than that, but no. When the new plan was announced, we all tried to scramble to find alternatives. We found the only alternative was to not get sick. Hope Joshua's pediatric neurologist bill doesn't hit you too hard, but most importantly, I hope all the news from his visit is all good!

I agree with Lori that I can relate to your first two statements here almost all of the time! :rotfl2:

Our health insurance is the opposite. Which I guess can be a good thing. Basically they pay the first $1500, completely, no deductibles. This includes everything including physicals, meds, etc. But then we pay the next $1500. Then after that they pay 80 percent. So some years we've actually paid NOTHING! (well, of course monthly payments). Last year, we paid our full $1500 and then a bunch more. I think it caps at $4500 for us so once we'd paid that $1500 and then 20 percents up to another $3000, THEN they pay 100 percent. So I guess if you had major hospitalization or something. We're shooting for this to be a "we pay nothing" year!

marci - as for no meat days during lent, one of the few rules i strictly adhere to...even DH (the catholic "social member" as parish priest calls him) knows it won't appear on the menu on the forbodden days. I made (for ma & middle DS broccoli alfredo-bleeech another thing i hate the smell); DH had a salad & french fries & gravy, youngest leftover pizza from night before & fries; i had a peanut butter sandwich. Bought fish to fry, just didn't work out cause DH worked 3 hours over. Least i know Friday's dinner is ready to go:thumbsup2

I have my fish all ready for tomorrow too! Although it's going to be a "stuffed" day. Kids have a wacky schedule at school so DS12 has about an hour free at 8:30am, so I'm going to take him out to breakfast. Then they have an early release (12:30), so I'm taking middle son out to lunch. So - two meals out and I don't think I'm going to be starving for fish! Oh, well, they like it better than I do anyways!

Now, what else can I talk about? Who would like to hear about our behavior issues with Savannah? Anyone? Bueller? C'mon ..... you know my cat stories are as exciting as your kid stories .... poop, hissing, biting, being a bully to siblings .... I could go on. Let me know when you're ready.

I want to hear it! I like cat stories as much as kid stories!

(that was the joke...I'm not going on vacation around Lent? :rotfl2: )

Uh..... :scratchin ...... .........in the Arizona desert? :confused3

Yeah - my kids always do that too. I'll give up alcohol and smoking for lent! Guess I'll give up vacations too!

And strangely enough - seems like most people in our company (finance) do or plan to retire to Arizona so they must have the same philosophies!

And - hey, I've been sitting here at work catching up and you're making me late going home! Catch you all later!

'Idol' Attraction Coming to Disney World

Disney World Plans to Create an 'American Idol' Attraction at Hollywood Studios Theme Park

NEW YORK (AP) -- Disney World is about to get a little pitchy, dawg.
Walt Disney Parks and Resorts announced plans Thursday to create a live performance attraction based on "American Idol" at Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park -- formerly called Disney-MGM Studios -- in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Our goal is to try to recreate the excitement of those 24 people who show up on that 'American Idol' stage," Disney Parks chairman Jay Rasulo told The Associated Press. "We believe many, many viewers want to know exactly how that feels, and we're going to try to reproduce that feeling for them."

Much like the hugely popular Fox singing competition, the as-yet-unnamed attraction -- scheduled to open in late 2008 -- will allow theme park guests to audition then perform before a live studio audience inside the Hollywood Studios' theater space formerly occupied by the "Doug Live!" and "Superstar Television" attractions.

Disney licensed the rights to create the attraction from "Idol" co-producers 19 Entertainment and FremantleMedia, despite the fact "American Idol" airs on Fox and Disney owns broadcast competitor ABC.

"It is owned by us, so we can extend the brand in the off-air space in the ways that we want to," said Keith Hindle, FremantleMedia's licensing vice president. "We don't see this in any way as a NewsCorp. vs. Disney debate. That's never been part of the discussion, and it's not something that's relevant to us. It's just part of 'American Idol.'"

The attraction's details are still being worked out, but it will probably operate something like this: Theme park guests ages 14 and up will be able to audition for a Disney casting producer. Those who pass the test will be selected to appear in one of the park's "Idol" stage shows. Rasulo anticipates six to eight such shows a day.

Backstage, the performers will receive hair and makeup touchups from a stylist and singing tips from a vocal coach. Then, the guests will perform on an "Idol"-like set in front of a live audience and three judges. No, not Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell. Instead, Rasulo says it's likely three audience members will be selected to evaluate the performers while a live host will keep the show moving.

Top audience vote-getters will compete in a grand finale show at the end of each day. Overall daily champs will win a special front-of-the-line pass at a regional audition for the actual "American Idol" show. Hindle says Disney winners won't be given any special treatment during the real audition, just the ability to skip ahead.

Because of eligibility differences -- namely, the TV show's 16- to 28-year-old age limit -- winners may be offered the option of transferring their pass to a friend or family member, but they won't be allowed to sell it. Daily champs too young to audition for the real deal could save the pass until they're old enough to compete, according to Hindle.

But will there be enough Fantasias and Sanyayas to keep theme park audiences captivated?

"I know that there's enough talent on any given day in our theme parks to keep people entertained," said Rasulo.

Beyond the attraction, Hindle says actual "Idol" stars may make appearances throughout the year and merchandise designed by both FremantleMedia and Disney's product divisions especially for the attraction would be available for sale.

"It's a very collaborative process," Hindle said. "Disney knows more about live stage productions that we ever will. We know more about our TV show that Disney ever will. Exactly how this will manifest it is something that will be mutually approved by all parties. We're looking to Disney to see how their guests like to be entertained."

Totally random and meaningless to anyone but me. . .

I am working at my desk while eating dindin (grilled chick & steamed veggies) and my dd11 comes in. . . so I ask her if she would please get the salt and pepper for her poor, overworked momma. . . a few minutes later (:confused3 ) she comes back with a pepper shaker and sets it down. . . I said, did you forget the salt. . . she responds, no, I put salt in there so now it's spepper and you only have to shake one thing! :flower3:

Aaaaawwwwww  :lovestruc

Change can be a good thing. You'll have new and exciting stories for us!

I hope so...I'm starting Monday at a new tanning salon that is opening up in the shopping center Bubba does karate in....matter of fact...it's 2 doors down from the karate school...Not even 5 minutes away! :thumbsup2

Yes you made my day. Stinkin jerks. Amazing they think that someone that works part time would really care what they think.

I told them that I, and everyone else in that office, WORK to LIVE, not LIVE to WORK...like them :sad2:

I'll give up alcohol and smoking for lent!

I'll give up smoking.... :rolleyes1 ...but not the booze.... (gotta have some fun...right Elmer?)

That would work...just not White please.

Uh...does it COME in white??? Thought only silver??? :confused3

Um - it was my kids saying that - not me! ;) I already have my wine chilling for tonight. Got to go to a stupid meeting at the middle school first. So they can tell us about all the wonderful "changes" they're making for next year. God I hate things like this! I'd force DH to go but his flight doesn't get in until late tonight!

Hi all-
Quick fly by.....
Kids had a half-day of school today.
Had Chrissy and Matthew's conferences this afternoon. DH couldn't make it to conferences b/c he was home half a day yest b/c of snowstorm, had lots of work to do at work today.
Went ok overall. Chrissy's was pretty good :thumbsup2 I'm glad the teachers and the team were positive of her improvements.
Matthew's conference went ok, a little of the "blah, blah, blah" and "needs improvement in this and that socially" stuff from the social worker  But overall was ok :)
Matthew is going up in a new math group- with some of the other gifted students. Matthew is in the gifted program at school. He has advanced to learning basic algebra since begining of school. He is also learning all the other math stuff for 5th grade.

Hope to catch-up with all of you tomorrow.
Kids have off all day tomorrow- scheduled day off.
Next week they are in school all week. Yea! Hopefully no snow days next week. Keeping my fingers crossed on that.

Have a good evening everyone!

Yes I want to have my cake and eat it too.

Okay here is what I want...

No snow, ice, sleet, hail, tornado's, huricanes, earthquakes, extreme heat (nothing above 100) and no wind. I think that covers it. Did I leave anything out? I'm thinking I will need a summer & winter home.

sex

yeah for rose's kids!

penny - parts of mgm make me snooze too; although TOT is amazing experience:thumbsup2

i'm finally waking up:rolleyes1 time for a nice, hot soak.

inspired - think i'll add an at-home hot tub to my bucket list.

mac - where u be??? hope you still have power:wizard: and you didn't get anymore snow
