Is DM moving to Texas? Man, I need to ketchup.

Lawrence, is Mary Ellen stomach still hurting or is she on the mend now? Hope you didn't have to go back to emerg.

glad we're all on the same page now:banana: :dance3: it's still icy here, i hate winter...even though it's sunny it's depressing

barb thank you very much, now go break 10K:thumbsup2 (if u run outta words -nanners work cheap;) )

not sure where the boys will land; neither has a passport (although jr has a police id - can't remember the name of it - that supposedly is good in lieu of a passport:confused: the other one is waiting to get hired somewhere & thinks he'll have the same card).

I've spoken my piece (spring for the passport & don't wait until the last minute or you'll run into the same garbage that transpired last year will the long delays...of course, i know nothing:rolleyes1 ...it's in their hands).

Honestly, since they've only gone to Ocean City by themselves before, I'd rather they'd just stay in the US. I received an SOS for plea to deposit money in ckg acct on that trip as I recall...they decided @ 2:00 am to drive out on spur of the minute over 4th of July...so surprised they couldn't find anything but a very pricey dump.:headache: guess that's how they learn:confused3

off to reheat turkey dinner, when i served it up yesterday my mom asked it was leftovers from Xmas:upsidedow she said she knew it was the end of January?

Hey gang.

Janet - I did not know you were a dog-breeder. One of my coworkers is interested in a goldendoodle, and I see you mentioned the labradoodle. I had never heard of either of these. It does seem like we're messin' with nature.:confused3

Rosie - Good luck to Matthew on the show tonight. I also LOVE:love: Groundhog movie.

:) Jennifer

I have reached the point where I have to wish.....

PENNY and MARCI

(better late than never ;) )

I am up early cause I drew the short stick, and have to drop Princess Peanut off at the vet this morning. Little Savvy is getting declawed today...

I know I read about the bloated tummy and stuff, but how is she? Alex happy she is home?? Better with no more claws?

If you see me here... remind me that I'm supposed to be cleaning.

AHEM!!
4.gif

DD called and Madie has a severe case of strep. The rash is a strep rash. Never heard of such a thing but it is even worse today.

Strep can even 'appear' in a non-rash form. Let's just say all of sudden Bubba would have an itch in his behind :rolleyes1 (i know, TMI, but may be helpful to someone else) for no reason. Thought he wasn't cleansing properly. So, made sure he was cleaned up, and he would still get sudden bursts of itchiness. Finally, after a couple days, couldn't take it anymore, took him to the doctor. They were positive it was pinworm, although I was insistant it wasn't. After examination, doctor was sure it wasn't also. He had no idea, but at the last minute, decided to try a swab of the area and test for strep. Much to his surprise, tested positive. Was on anti's and felt better right away. Doctor said very rare to see that...but you see, that is MY kid. He doesn't get the 'normal' colds and such (actually, he's never had a 'cold'), he gets the weird stuff. When he's getting sick, he gets that croupy cough...and, if I catch it quick enough, we don't need to make the trip to the doctor :thumbsup2 He's had pinkeye twice, and usually upset stomach.... oh well....I still think I'm blessed with his good health....even if it is 'weird' stuff when he does get sick

Let's see if this link works- about Miley Cyrus. Below.

http://news.aol.com/entertainment/t...in-underwear-pic-scandal/20080129090109990001

The 4 smaller pics to the right of her pic are not her. I have AOL as my internet source. I hope this one about Miley is false :guilty: Looks like her BFF may have put her pics up on Miley's Myspace acct? I don't know.

Yes, thanks, we will enjoy the variety show tonight!

she has a target on her back:confused3

pics didn't load for me, were they the ones where she was licking a lollipop with her friend? Such a fuss about those ones last week, last time i looked she wasn't a nun or preacher. These kids are entertainers, not necessarily role models; same as athletes. Don't understand why everyone holds them to such a rigid standard or why they care what they do in their private life. I could see it if they profess to be perfect, they're just kids-make mistakes like they all do; hopefully - learn from them & move forward.

imo, even if "real" she is no more or less stoopid that tons of other kids posting same crap...i tell my DS don't post anything u don't want a future employer to see.:teacher:

Here's some info on GROUNDHOG DAY.

You can log onto "www.groundhogsday.com" for a complete list of predictions around the globe. (sorry, I don't know how to post a link.)

Here's what has been posted so far:

Shadow (more winter for us) - PA (the most famous "Phil") - Janet
Quarryville, PA (Eastern PA) - Barb
West Virginia - ME
Vermont -
Virginia -

No Shadow (early spring) - Georgia - Tricia
Ontario - Damo are you close enough to claim spring???
Illinois - Mac, Marcie, Wendy

Let me repeat - Mac, Marci, and Wendy - SPRING IS COMING - Your groundhog "Chuck Wood" from Stickney, Illinois said so. (By the way, even if you don't live near ole Chuck, I would claim him:) )

In WV, our groundhog is called "French Creek Freddie". There were about 200 people there this morning. When Feb 2nd is a weekday, they get about 50 people. I guess we now know why they didn't film Bill Murray's Groundhog Day in West Virginia.;)

:)

Okay you guys...you need to explain the whole situation...I don't follow NASCAR, so I'm

It's the whole Dale Earnhart Jr thing again. You might remember we were having a "free the EIGHT" discussion a few months ago. Theresa Earnhart is the head of DEI (Dale Earnhart Inc. the company started by Dale Earnhart Sr). She is the second Mrs. Dale Earnhart. She inherited the company when Dale Sr died. There has constantly been a power struggle between "the family" (Dale Jr and the other blood relatives) and "the widow" (Theresa).

Last year, Dale Jr announced he was leaving DEI to drive for another company. Theresa refused to release the Number 8 (the car number that Dale Jr has always driven... companies own the number, drivers don't... but it is customary to let a driver take his number with him once he becomes famous). Dale Jr will now drive the Number 88, as close as he could come to his original number.

MY driver, Mark Martin... bless his heart... got his contract purchased by DEI in a merger deal. He will now be driving the Number 8. I dread the first time they roll out that car. It won't be pretty. :sad2:

That's probably more than you wanted to know...

DS had a good appt with the Skin Doc. She said he had a serious case and plain OTC stuff would not work. She also told him that his long hair on his forehead was making the problem worse. His reply, "Yeah, but I don't have hair on my cheeks, and I have pimples there too.";)

Glad to hear you got him meds and taken care of! Kids can be so mean when it comes to acne-faces. :sad2: My DH has scars from it....it's good to know you didn't waste your money and time on OTC ;)

Now what parent in their right mind buys a 13 or 14 year old girl a THONG ????

A kewl one? OR, maybe one is who desperate to be a 'grandma'? :confused3

My day started with me accidentally rubbing my right EYEBALL with a towel . . .what a goober :confused3 but then it started bleeding. . yes, that's right. . . my EYEBALL STARTED BLEEDING!:scared1: :scared1:

For those of you who might have seen my HRH customer service concerns thread, I am happy to report I'm currently working with some, shall we say, upper management to get things resolved and they are slowly restoring my confidence.

Okay, while funnie story....I am SO sorry to hear about your eye :sad2:  That must have been quite painful!! I hate it when you do something like that to yourself...you can't even blame or yell at anyone for it :headache: I'm sure you're doing better by now, but wanted to let you know I was wishin' you well :goodvibes

Yay, snow day! So we didn't have soccer or religious ed, so we got to go out and celebrate my birthday!

Sounds like the perfect way to spend your birthday! Oh, wait, no, I guess the PERFECT way would be on some warm beach or theme park or ship somewhere warm and sunny sippin' a drink  (Still sounds like you had a good day!)

Hope everyone had a great day today!!! Today was my last day of school for the week so yay for long weekends!!! I only go to class on Mondays and Wednesdays so I have it good. :stitch:

Well....hiya Kevin! Good to see ya back here!

20 POUNDS

CLAP03.gif

peeps are speaking in tongue;)

did recognize the german via youngest DS taking it this year

GERMAN!? :scared1: Why did he pick that? I thought Spanish was the one to take....easy, so many spanish-speaking here anymore :confused3 .....I actually saw a report on tv about the choice of learning language...they are starting to emphasize people take Mandarin Chinese....guessing cuz of the growing relationship with China? Apparently going to need a lot of Mandarin speaking peeps in the future :confused3

I'm stuck at 14. . . what are you doing?? I'm still taking alli and eating very healthy and walking. My personal trainer/nephew says he thinks I'm losing alot of inches, less weight and building back muscle. I feel so much better than I did a month ago, my clothes fit differently and I just have a general feeling of well being, but dang it. . . I wanna have lost 20 pounds too!!!! It's that magic lake you got. . .

Really, congrats though. . . I KNOW how much hard work 20 pounds takes! You are inspiring me.

:cheer2: That is what you need to focus on Wendy.... you most likely have 'plateau-ed' and your metabolism will kick it back up....don't worry...keep doing what you're doing :thumbsup2

Mac, I am a little worried about you trying to book HRH over Columbus Day weekend and getting your King Suite ... I don't see any available Thursday - Monday. Please keep me posted and LMK how it goes.

eh...don't worry about mac...she got 'people' :rolleyes1

Anyway, I am working Super Bowl Sunday as usual. Guess they know I really do not give a rat's behind who wins and only watch for the commercials. I am catering our work Super Bowl party again with a bunch of artery-clogging crap that we'll all regret the day after. :woohoo:

 cupcakes :confused3

We have a double dip sporting weekend coming up.....first the Commercial Bowl. err, uh, I mean Super Bowl. Then Monday night we watch the St. Joe's (DH's alma mater) vs. Villanova

Guess we know where you are? :rolleyes1 Btw, how are all our Beans? C feelin' better? How bout Daddybean??

First, think of your metabolism as a lazy co-worker... someone who isn't a self-motivator... who will do something productive if you give them something to do, but will just sit there staring into space if you don't. Feed your metabolism little bits of something healthy to keep it busy and active. Also, your body will then learn to trust that good stuff is coming on a regular basis and it doesn't need to "store" it away.

Second, look at your food choices. Are you taking in more protein than carbs? If you don't care how fast you lose, it doesn't matter. If you want to lose faster, make sure that your protein intake exceeds your carbs.

:scratchin ....hhhmmmm, makes sense.

I still have not started Huntsville yet. I wasn't feeling up to it. Maybe this weekend.

Bubba started it :rolleyes1

I'm doing ok but Mary Eva is still sick with what I think is a stomach virus and took off work yesterday but she is stubborn and wants to go to work today.

That is not called "stubborn", it's called "brave" ;)

my hubbies really sick too, and draggin himself off each day...

How is DH doing these days? Hopefully better :goodvibes

My kids' school does what's called block scheduling about every 3 weeks. Means instead of having 8 periods like they normally do, they have 4 each on Wed and Thu and the classes are 90 minutes instead of 45. Of course really confused everyone since yesterday was supposed to be a block day. The school decided to keep today's block day the same (even number classes) and make up yesterday's tomorrow. DS15 was trying to figure out if he could stay home today - on the block days, one day he has all his "real" classes; the other all classes he could miss. So finally had to wait and call the school when it opened (of course after the bus comes) and drive him. But was a "real" day. Evidently we weren't the only ones confused. Other DS went to his math block (7:30-9am) this morning and at 8:15 his teacher strolled in, looked at everyone already sitting there, and said "Oh, is it a block day?!" :rotfl: So he got an extra study hall today!

:faint: :confused3 That's just too confusing....

....based on what I know about my 15 year old son, I probably wouldn't want my 15 year old daughter (if I had one) dating him!

uh...I hope not!! (Wouldn't that be incest? :scared: :sad2: )

Good thing you turned up Barb, since I live the closest to you, I was about to get on down Exeter way :car: and see what was going on :) (how far are you from the main Post Office on 13th st. in Reading anyway?)

If you would have, I wouldn't have been here Tuesday & Wednesday (well, until later Wed. afternoon anyway ;) )....then you would have had to explain to my DH who you were! :lmao: I've never been to that Post Office (usually hit the one in Mt. Penn/Antietam), but according to mapquest, I'm about 8 minutes away :confused3 (I live on the south side of 422 across from Walmart in Exeter....could walk to Walmart if we wanted to...and, sometimes we do in the summer...and stop at the DQ across the street :thumbsup2 )

....keebler elves, which make 60 percent of the girl scout cookies. they

Now that's odd, because my friend is a "GS Cookie Mom" and she told me it was someone else who made the cookies (name escapes me at the moment) :confused3

Jodie - I also noticed the DIS ads. One thread said if you were not logged on, you would see the posts, but if you were logged in, they would be hidden.:confused3

I didn't notice, but I checked it out. Saw an ad for Swan/Dolphin advertised .....on Universal boards? :confused3

WHERE is that freakin' Tag Fairy? :confused3

Katie: Loved the pix of bro's head :goodvibes Have you figured out what to do this year? Something about 'goodbye' or 'farewell'?? How about Tricia's idea of googling pumpkin templates? Or, something he is "into"??... how about a swimmer? Let us know what you decide :thumbsup2

Thought I would stop by and say hi and good night cause I am tired after taking DW to urgent treatment center cause she got to work and started feeling even worse and the only thing they could tell her was she had some kind of bad cold and didn't even know if it was the flu :confused3 to make matters worse is they said if her stomach kept hurting her come back saturday:scared1:

I know I'm late, but I do hope she is better

you so must save all those pictures of brother and his head creations.

later in life when his kids say they want to dye their hair blue or orange or do a spiked mohawk, they will have the ammunition to get their way...:hippie:

:lmao: good point :rolleyes1 (just think about how "cool Aunt Katie" would be :goodvibes )

Mikey's doctor gave him a sample pack of the 500 (whatever) dse of Advair instead of the 250 to use for two weeks to bring it back into control. He used it last night & this morning and said he can already tell a big difference.

Madie had her antibiotic yesterday and this morning and was raring to go. She talked non-stop today. She is back home now but will be back tomorrow for the weekend. It's gonna be a fun weekend.

Glad Mikey got what he needed to feel better :thumbsup2 ...and, so how IS miss Madie doing this weekend??

Now I'm hoping to get the call that my office has issued a mother nature day. . . yes, we have mother nature days. . . it's very cool :thumbsup2 I might not make 100K a year, but man you gotta love those benefits    Come on phone, ring :goodvibes

Who cares what they're called....as long as it means a day off

Well - got to get ready for work. Today is "Shadow Day", in honor of groundhog's day tomorrow. My 15 year old nephew is coming to work with us today to "shadow" us. He thinks he may want to be an accountant when he grows up. So, we are taking him with us to our bank audit today. I told him if he wanted to do this he needed to wear a shirt, tie, and dress pants. And that we would be leaving office at 7:30am and returning by 6pm. He still wanted to come.:confused3

:) Jennifer

Never heard of 'shadow day' :confused3 , but, okay..... How did your nephew enjoy 'shadowing' you that day? What did he think? Is he still thinking of going the accounting route? I could never do it...not 'math smart' enuf :sad2:

EWWWWWW!!! Huge snowstorm here.

Glad I have the milk, eggs and bread already!

I'm glad your son made it home before the storm....right where you need to be :thumbsup2 Home and cozy with those who love you....for your safe being, and so they don't worry!

Guess I already missed the french toast at House of Damo?? :(

Too busy to stay long.

Went to Monster Jam today and it was VERY fun for my DS he had a blast :thumbsup2 . I kind of enjoyed it too. ;)

Our anniversary was good we went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner . We don't usually eat there so it was good. Not really romantic but the weather was so bad yesterday we didn't make it to our usual resturant .

I am ordering my sleepnumber bed. It is just about as much as a regular king bed else where and well I really wanted it . I went to the store to see it in our mall and it was very comfortable :) . I could have taken a nap right there in the store :rotfl2: .

Gotta run cooking dinner now . See everyone later :thumbsup2

smartass........

:lmao: .....me too :(

test results
no fracture. severly inflamed heel spurs with the sprain. he gave a cortisone shot. still feels like a bee sting. i did not cry. yet that was a big needle.

birthday was good. went shopping. good italian dinner.

YAY for test! YAY for birthday celebration! :cool1:

Here is a story to shock you... My dear friend works for the doctors office by our house . She is a nurse and had a ten year old girl come in and ask about BIRTH CONTROL :scared1: . I really thought I was going to explode when I heard her tell us this . WHAT ARE THESE KIDS THINKING ??? And a better question where are the parents ??? :confused3

Okay...yep....you shocked me. :sad2: I agree...10 is a little young....but, haveta give the girl credit being responsible asking about birth control. However, she should be doing that AND condoms.... :rolleyes1

We have had HEAVY, HEAVY rain here all day! If this had been snow, there would be an awful lot. I have not seen it rain like this in years!

Do you want me to send the boat? Tracie never said if she wanted it.

i agree Mike...when it was coming down, it was REALLY coming down! Hard to believe we only got about 1.5" out of that! DREAD to think what it would have been if it were cold enuf to be snow! :scared: Thanks for the boat offer Lori....we didn't need it (live on a mountain), but Tracie might...she's outside the city, and well, we haven't heard from her lately... :scratchin ...if she don't check in, I'm gonna have to drive down and check on her..... :rolleyes1

we have gained 1 hour and 2 minutes of daylight.

jennifer - I've worn out at least 4 pairs of crocs; usually within a year lose their tread; i think it's a fab idea to recondition & ship them off!

I'm all for recycling! :thumbsup2 Didja hear they are going to try to do away with the plastic water bottles? People are not recycling them, creating bigger problem in landfills. A grocery store doing away with plastic too...paper or byo. ....:thumbsup2 good idea imho....

me too, i hope the furnace is really fixed this time.
if problems come back, then the company is contacting the manufacturer.
i have a 10 year warranty for all parts and service.
i wouldn't mind having furnace problems in the summer, not the winter.

well...wth?? What did you buy a new furnace for if you didn't want it to work properly? Tell them need to fix it or replace it....that is totally unacceptable  (how's the mailbox fiasco coming along?)

I thought I would stop by and say good night homies and had a good scare tonight my youngest DS was mad at me and went to his room and some how knocked off his top bunk bed off almost landing on him and checked him out and he didn't have a mark on him and needless to say I won't get any sleep tonight after that.

 I'm glad your son wasn't hurt....but, what the heck happened? HOW do you knock a bed off?? I wouldn't sleep either....be too worried! :sad2:

Had a terrible afternoon. It is pouring and windy out. Tomorrow we have champs and I went to put our banner up ahead of time....so when I begin to jog to the door, I slipped in a puddle and fell into the mud...as well as the banner. So right now it is drying downstairs but its dirty

And then the DF is just annoying the crap outta me and making plans for the Super Bowl when all I want to do is curl up in my PJs and make things with my Magic Bullet. Is that too much to ask??? :confused3

OK rant over....long day tomorrow and then dinner with friends (like I'm going to have the energy to do that after being with my boys for at least 7 hours :faint: )

Enjoy your evenings and Saturday everyone!

Sorry you fell Katie...sometimes 'no good deed goes unpunished' :( And, all men will bug you eventually...just bug him right back :thumbsup2 Hope your nite and Saturday were better! :goodvibes

it is a really bad downpour now. been a few hours. the raining cats and dogs variety.
what wild weird weather. if it was snow, it would be 3 feet....

who knows , migtht be 85 next week

wishful thinking

Oh yeah, I'm just sitting around worry about my HRH ressie :rolleyes1

any word yet?

Morning all. Waiting for the driveway to melt.

How's that going for ya? :surfweb:

I do have a sparkling clean oven and stove top, does that count?

Absolutely :thumbsup2

barb - they call u when skool is canceled - well, la-dee-dah! jk, i have to wake up & watch for the closings to scroll across the tv screen/news lol. Doesn't it just throw off the whole day:confused3

::yes:: It's only a year old....the entire school district is on some kind of 'connect-ed' phone thing where they (skool) leave an outgoing mssg., and it is forwarded (by phone) to the number they have on record. Think: email blast ;) While convenient and nice, they have to call early enuf for the high skoolers....hence, the pre-6am call :sad2:

Let me repeat - Mac, Marci, and Wendy - SPRING IS COMING - Your groundhog "Chuck Wood" from Stickney, Illinois said so. (By the way, even if you don't live near ole Chuck, I would claim him:) )

Spring is going to have a hard time pushing through the nearly 13 inches of snow we got in my neck of the woods this past Thursday night. However, since I don't mind winter or snow, I'm not complaining. My kids have played outside for HOURS the past two days.

I've never even heard of Stickney, IL? :confused3 Now I'll have to look it up to see where Chuck is from.
