Katie - Our local high school swim team has won 7 state championships in a row. Evidently it is tradition to throw the coach in the pool (like the gatorade dump for football). Congrats on the win.

Off to work today (sixth day this week). Anyhoo, I will try to get you some more info on the IRS tax rebate checks. I actually checked the official IRS site and they only had two sentences - rebate is coming, but legislation has not been officially enacted.

When I get the facts, I will post them, so we can all count our money. Who is going to use their rebate for their Universal Vacation?

Don't know about the rebate check they will be sending out but we done filed our taxes and already started getting everything for our universal vacation the rebate check that they are suppose to be giving maybe a little extra money to take or DW and DS's new bathing suits and god Knows DS's need em

I've been trying to ignore that tickly, scratchy feeling in the back of my throat for days....can't ignore it anylonger.....I've got a damn cold.
I never get sick....blah
I'm hoping a hot shower will help.

It's a good day to wrap up in a blanket and play my new computer game I guess.

I'm not looking forward to sitting in the cold ice rink tonight. I think I'll take a couple of dayquil and see if it helps.

Hey, Sharon! I missed this last night.

I have been to Daytona several times. I love the dog track there. This will be my first experience with the Daytona 500.

Oh no Tricia, seeing as I'm a greyhound owner, I do not want to know that you go to the dog track.....I was involved in greyhound rescue years ago before they shut the tracks down around here. I have seen some horribly abused dogs. But I will say, not all owners mistreat their dogs. We mostly just found homes for the ones that could no longer race (which would normally be shot to death).Ok, enough of that. I guess we can still be friends. j/k

LOL, typical man response! I usually just play solitaire, used to play the sims games years ago. You know, that part of Ravenhearst where you have to play the little game on the TV to get the key? That's the hardest part of the whole game for me! I gave up the first time and had DS do it! It's officially the week-end, so I'm going to break open Huntsville after my next up of tea!

There are several hotels on International Speedway Blvd. Not anything spectacular, but there is a Ramada Inn, Travelodge, La Quinta, Super 8 (bleech), Days Inn, ummmm... off the main road a block or two is a Hilton... ummmm... I know there is more, but I'm drawing a blank right now. You DO NOT want to be anywhere near Daytona International Speedway (which by the way is the original DIS... ha...) for the week prior to, or a couple of days after, the Daytona 500 on February 17th. It will be madness. We are staying at the La Quinta, which is about half a mile from the track, so that we can WALK back and forth to the races.

There is a nice Hilton on Daytona Beach... Ocean Walk, or something like that? I haven't stayed in that area in awhile, but that is a consistently nice hotel.

Thanks for the ideas Tricia - The college recommends the Hilton on the beach. Sounds like a good one for August when we move him into the school.
I need to go back again in Oct for Parent Weekend, that's when I want something closer to the school. I'm going to check the race schedule for Oct, because I would really like to be on Richard Petty Blvd. That's within walking distance to the college.
I hope you get to go to the race although you are now spoiled by the last one! DIS hires most of its help from the college. James is hoping to work there, so maybe I can get you tickets for next year!

lori ..it is just the midterm stress for DD . Between a different test everyday and different times sometimes i don't know if she is coming or going .. I am glad it is over now I don't have to drive her every day . She is off till THURSDAY .

Off to CLEAN HOUSE TODAY . Loading the bags of cloths up to go to the local church and cleaning out the basement I should look like this in a few hours . See everyone later .... Maybe

Hi all
Anwways, if anyone wanted to know, I helped Chrissy do a Cape Fear, North Carolina/Wilmington NC poster for her school project that was due this morning. Ok, I did the majority of it for her, but I had Chrissy color in the water and sand(beach areas). I pasted pics I cut out from a brochure I found at home also. Pasted pics of plantation mansions from the Wilmington,NC area. And I had typed up a little info for it and I pasted
my typed stuff on the posterboard. I worked on it most of the day yest.
Hope she gets some kind of a good grade on it. I'm sure she will, as homework is modified for her.

Tomorrow is Matthew's Pinewood Derby for Cub Scouts
We have check-in for it in the early afternoon.
I already sprayed cooking spray on the wheels of his car this morning. Cooking spray makes the cars go faster


I do feel bad I can never "catch-up" here and individually reply to everyone.
I would have to be here all day to do that.

Had our PTA luncheon today.....DELISH! So stuffed!

Went and worked out to burn off some of those calories

Then we had our annual water basketball tournment with a team from upstate NY.....

And....

It was the first time we won in 7 YEARS!!!



So in celebration, our boys decided to toss me in...is there something wrong with a 17 year old picking up his coach, flingin her over his shoulder and then tossing in the pool?

Guess I should appreciate before I gain more weight.....

YAY! About time for a win!!!!

Was it a bit hairy getting out of the pool with the wet clothes on? Hopefully you didn't have on a thin top. I can just see the principle shaking his head thinking of the parents calling him!

I was going to post on the other thread, but do we need to bury that one? I had posted this morning before I went to work and told about my misadventures on the icy porch. Thank you to all who showed their condolences for my injuries! My knees are bruised and and my hands are sore, but I'm a pretty tough gal...like I said earlier, I am clumsy and do stuff like that all the time.

Hope your not feeling too sore today. I do stuff like that too. We have a sunken family room that is one step down, and I'm always tripping on that darn step going back up. It's not a pretty site to see me sprawled out on the kitchen floor! Pretty embarrasing. I think my daughter inherited the clumsy gene, as she does the same thing!
