Something about Nothing, come join in........ Part 3

Here's my story: Been using the same Disney Visa since 2005...and we use it for everything.... On my way home on a Friday night from work, DH gets a call here at home from Chase (credit card company). They wouldn't talk to him, cuz I am primarly cardholder, so I called them as soon as I walked in the door. They asked if i charged $800 of office furniture in Ohio?? :confused3 Uh...no. So, they immediately deactivated our cards and were sending us new ones.....which took forever cuz this was around Thanksgiving and the holiday slowed them down and then the mail :headache: ...... When I got my statement, i also had 2 other fraudulent charges on it.... $50 application fee to University of Oregon :confused3 and $39.95 to some online dating service in NY :confused3 (KFed???) If Chase had NOT caught these suspicious "out of state" "strange" "large amount" charges, I'd been toast. Long story short....i filled out paperwork and have had NO problem since.... I really have to thank Chase, if THEY had not caught it right away, they could have maxxed our card out and then WE would have had a problem when WE tried to buy something! Also, due to a mess up at RPR our first year, we learned to always take a back up credit card on vacation.....NEVER just 1!!!! :thumbsup2 And, ever since these incidents....I always call the credit card company ahead of time and give them our travel dates :thumbsup2

Now they had to be able to trace that one. The card had to be tied to the transaction for the U of O. Good thing they are on it like hounds. I have also had trouble leaving a card at the HRH. They put a very big hold on it and didn't release it until we were back home from our trip. I have not given them a card for charges since.

So...lemme get this straight...that is as much homework as sitting in skool all day (almost)?? :confused3 That is utterly ridiculous.... :sad2: I thought kids were supposed to have 10 minutes worth of homework equivalent to the grade they're in....3rd grade would be 30 minutes?? Thought it was something like that....SIX hours of homework is not right...heck, by the time Bubba gets home, eats, does activity and gets ready for bed, it's LESS than 6 hours :sad2: Something needs to be done, I agree it's over the top!

Yep, they are not supposed to be kids anymore. They are supposed to spend all of their time doing school work. We are supposed to be raising mindless robots. It is really sad when a 3rd grader does not want to go to school. I will most likely end up homeschooling her before she ends up graduating. :headache:

.........and where is Miss Sharon?? :confused3

She has NOT checked-in in awhile

(she better have her note for MommaMac!)

Good morning, homies.

I am not bragging or anything, but my weekend started 3 hours ago and I'm not due in till Tuesday. :)

Leaving for the salon in a bit (these roots do not blonde themselves  ), but I'll be back later to make sure you're all behaving!

Noooo... not bragging at all... ;)

That reminds me to pick up a box of haircolor. Thinking of going a shade lighter again. :scratchin

Oddly enuf....I probably would NOT have dated DH had I known him when he was in the service...I have his military pic/photo and let's just say it looks nothing like him! :sad2:

Brad has said that I wouldn't have liked him 15 years ago (or longer). He readily admits that it took him a long time to "mature". Probably has something to do with the fact that he never had a relationship survive for more than a couple of years back then. :rolleyes1

It was actually pretty funny. The puppy is on a chain, since she won't mind and keeps running off (or is it that the beagle keeps trying to herd her to the road?:confused3 ) but she was trying to go after it herself. The beagle went after him but wouldn't get to close to it. I was out there, came and got oldest ds (who went and got the shotgun) and that coyote would not run off. He would go a little wasy and then stop and turn to watch us. He has been back once or twice since and he is huge. It's just not normal for them to come out in the middle of the day and come into a yard then not run away.

I always say that if a wild animal isn't afraid of me, then I am afraid of it. :scared1:

Guess we must just live in cow country!

I don't recall ever paying more than $3 for a gallon of milk, and if you look for specials, you can frequently find it for like $2.29 a gallon. Generally cheaper than gas! Good thing since we also go through about a gallon a day around here (and I don't drink it at all!).

See...they are watchin' out for their money....they caught it quick...and I'm guessing since it was "keyed" in it was a 'red flag'..... Makes ya wonder how they get our info in the first place? :confused3 (Like MY Visa is used for everything...but not internet purchases...different card for that ;) )

So....how was your bus trip? :confused3

That's what I got, that it wasn't the amount, but the "keyed in" thing that tripped the red flag.

Well, a bus trip from NY to TX, complete with booze, snacks from a Quik-E-Mart, and new clothes.... What a PARTY!

Did you all know that a square is a rectangle?

:confused3 Ummm a square is made up of 4 EQUAL length lines... a rectangle is made up of 2 longer, equal length lines and 2 shorter, equal length lines... unless the rules have changed since I was in Kindergarten? :confused3

Oh, but I will argue that 0.999999999(infinity) is equal to 1. That is a fun debate. I can see both sides. ;)

Ours is $3.98 a gallon and RARELY goes on sale. I always figured we were paying trucking expenses.

I know I wouldn't have liked dh when he was in high school. I was a popular kid, he was a nerd. I am afraid he is reverting! :headache: :rolleyes1

That is true. If a wild animal is not afraid of you then something is wrong. Chris was shooting to scare the thing off and it would run a little ways and then turn aroudn to watch us some more.

I know you guys have probably never heard of or seen a Braums, it is a regional company, they only have stores that their drivers can drive to and back in the same day. Anyway it is a dairy farm/stores and their milk is still as expensive as anyone elses. The farm is actually 4 miles from my house. In fact if the wind is blowing just "wrong" you can smell it. :headache:

Bread has also gone up here. Has it everwhere else?

Well actually according to my husband the engineer a square is a special rectangle. According to my neighbor the kids had this question on a test. Yeah, in the third grade. I know that I was taught that a square had 4 equal side and a rectangle has two sets of equal sides but the sets were not equal. Anyway, her son missed a question on a test that how many rectangles there were and he missed it because he didn't count the squares. I googled it last night and the people that were asking that questionn were college students. Since when do we teach our children colloge math in third grade? And even better why are they now saying that a square is a "special" rectangle? DH said that he could argue both sides of that too.

Oh and I agree, .999999999(infinity) is equal to 1!

Guess I am paying trucking expenses too. Actully ds said it is because they feed dairy cattle corn and corn prices have gone up dramatically because they are using it for fuel now.

Mmmmmm... nothing like fresh country air! :rotfl:

Our grocery store just started carrying Sara Lee bread and there seems to be a pricing war, so our bread is actually cheaper than it used to be.

Okay, I can't take the SLOW page loads and posts. I'll try again later.

You've heard of "suicide by cop"....I'm thinking "suicide by Chris" :lmao:

Bread hasn't changed drastically in awhile....I buy store brand at 74 cents/loaf :teeth:

I actually saw an interesting thing on tv about the corn-fuel thing..... it's actually going to be MORE expensive than the regular fuel....the manpower involved in growing and harvesting (not to mention the gas those tractors/machine use!)...then, trucking it around and the pollution in the air from 'converting' it :confused3 ....it was awhile ago, but the jist of the story was it wasn't going to be any better than the gas :headache: :confused3

Tlinus Great gift basket i hope we get something but I am not banking on anything.

Thanks for the USELESS COW information :thumbsup2 . Now if we only had COWS in NYC I could use this information :lmao: .

I am going to do the shirts and I think a crown or sash . I am thrilled to try club level this time and am so :goodvibes excited . I just need to stop looking on the computer :surfweb: because nothing else is getting done . Not in my house ,not one thing at all . Hey I can't get one fish two fish red fish blue fish out of my head .Maybe this time I will NOT get WET on that ride .I need to listen to the song better I think .:confused3

See everyone after the science fair tonight . My DS 6 won for his class and we are off to the fair tonight :yay: .

Okay, so I lied. I'm back.

I was looking at the Nascar schedule because we are trying to make our plans for the Daytona 500 and they just announced race times and stuff like that.

I have always cheered for Mark Martin. I can't decided how I feel about him driving the Number 8 for DEI.

Everyone but Lori can ignore this post completely.

if i'm not mistaken for the lower castes in India, a path of salvation is to be reincarnated as a cow?:confused3 they do have very soulful eyes imo.

middle DS had a thang for cows (during the country decorating phase back in the late 80's). He has quite a collection of them. However, they must be real cows only white w/black spots would do. Where do kids come up with this stuff lol

jodie - i believe the revenue agents were fishing:rolleyes1 . If anything, it taught me to keep all receipts, especially those for misc business expenses. It was a humbling experience, especially since the ex refused to appear with me (believe that was strike 2 for him;) ). Have fun getting touched up.:goodvibes

tracie - nice swag! Hope u find some cheap air, if not; how long would the drive take for you?

st L - i gotcha:thumbsup2 ; that would be worrisome.

tricia - so you can't eat a dairy cow? dh used to dye my hair for years. It just got to the point where my color was so light (an ashy/platinum) that the roots were popping up every 4 weeks...too hard on my hair. It always took 2 boxes and with highlighting/foils it's less expensive to have the "cheap" pro my DIL hooked me up with, do it every 2 -3 months...go figure. DH does often comment he misses doing playing beautician. I think it had something to do with the fact that i was wrapped in a bathtowel so as not to drip.:rotfl:

barb - hard pressed to find bread less than $1.50 in my area (even the store brand stuff).

lori - i haven't seen that brand in our area for a long time:confused3

mary - congrats! you're off to the science fair, the birds and the bees are there...not quite one fish, two fish lol. My youngest DS won in 6th grade. His entry "which hairspray will hold my straight hair spiked the longest...Expensive, Medium or Cheap" Aquanet won:yay: 1 gallon for $.99:laughing:

least i got my taxes started, now all i need is for w-2s to come floating in the mailbox, they aren't as responsible as tricia is.

Yes, and I still LOVE them!

Want a quick cow lesson? Probably not, but since I learned this crap after I moved out to the boonies, you guys get to learn it too.

You can tell dairy cows from beef cows if you just learn the basic body shapes:

There. Now go forth and spread this incredible usless knowledge...

I think having shirts made is a great idea! You might just catch the eye of a TM and get something special. I remember somebody saying they wore a birthday shirt and a TM got everyone in line for a ride to sing Happy Birthday to them. Nothing may happen, you never know, but at least you'll have a special memory. Think of the cute pictures. I would definitely do it.

I am rising, but I ain't shining. :p

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Planning on doing any brain surgery later? Those are clever commercials.

This will be the second year in a row that we get to claim the medical deduction. At the rate 2008 is starting? Yeah, we'll probably get it next year too.

I know it is a rare thing. I have saved ALL our receipts (drugs, doctors, etc) because I know it may raise a red flag somewhere and get us one of those dreaded audit notices.

Here's mine. Phone rings at home. An automated message tells me that it is Citibank fraud alert and suspicious activity has taken place on my card. I am urged to call the customer service number on the back of my card. WTH?

Well, since it wasn't asking me for my account number or anything like that AND it was telling me to call the 800 number on my card, I did.

Turns out 5 transactions had been keyed in on my card in the past hour (keyed as in entered manually at a card machine, no swipe, no internet). I had just bought 2 bus tickets from New York to Texas, a handful of crap at a gas station, several bottles of liquor, and some clothing. None of the charges were much. Maybe $100 or so per transaction? The customer service rep read back to my last charge, made her notes, closed the account and told me exactly what I had to do in order to remove the charges. I had a new card the next day.

I hope you get it all staightened out. It sounds like you've got a good vacation plan going! :wizard:

Yeah finally was able to get the other airline tickets today and just so happened that the tickets I needed to get was DW and oldest DS :lmao: just have to maybe wait till tomorrow to start getting the hotel ressies for RPR and maybe sat for offsite hotel and finally the Universal tixs and then the waiting sets in:banana:

ha - he didn't ring twice;) but the postman brought the W2's:woohoo:

off to cypher

barb - forgot to answer, no this was in Dec. '05. Another reason why i like DP & charging things to the room key @ both U & WDW instead of watching the server walk out of sight with the CC. For some reason our room key wouldn't work (or was it a ploy:idea: ?). I've read other posts as to the issue; what can you do?:confused3

st l - enjoy planning, it's 1/2 the fun:thumbsup2

Anything to draw attention to the birthday girl....can you find a flashing birthday button?? Maybe from a card store or something :confused3 She is SO gonna hate you

Good luck on the Fish ride...pay attention to which "fish" you are in ;) ...that matters in the song! And, even if you DO follow the directions in the song, I still think you'll get wet :confused3 (...i know that is the idea with our gang :( )
Congrats and good luck at the science fair....what did he study and present??

(& good luck getting to go btw...)

prolly takes us about 14-16 hours  :sad2: (that's why we fly ;) )

Trying too but DS 11 is saying he doesn't want to go:scared1: and when we ask why he told us that our oldest DS was calling him chicken for not going on certain rides and I told him don't worry about it cause his brother wouldn't go on Dr Doom :lmao: And thats his favorite ride and besides its too late and I paid for his ticket and we don't want to loose $340.00 on that excuse:rotfl2:

:confused3 Ummm a square is made up of 4 EQUAL length lines... a rectangle is made up of 2 longer, equal length lines and 2 shorter, equal length lines... unless the rules have changed since I was in Kindergarten? :confused3

From someone who has taught elementary and middle school math, trust me:

A square IS a rectange.
A square is also a rhombus.
A rhombus is also a parallelogram.
Therefore, a square is also a parallelogram.
Additionally, a rectangle is a parallelogram.

Any questions? :confused3

Really - think of it like this. The real definition of a rectangle is that it has 4 sides and 4 ninety degree angles. There is no rule for how long the sides have to be. Therefore a square can also be a rectangle because it does have 4 sides (they just happen to be the same size) and 4 90 degree angles.

Similarly, a parallelogram just has to have 4 sides, with opposite sides the same length. No rules on angles so again a square could be one. Have I confused everyone enough?!

The farm is actually 4 miles from my house. In fact if the wind is blowing just "wrong" you can smell it. :headache:

We call it "stinky time" around here! :rotfl: Generally the smell is caused during the times around here (usually early evening) that they spread manure. Hence the name! :rotfl:

Everyone but Lori can ignore this post completely.

Wonder if I should tell him what DW said to me today and that is she didn't care if I was dead or about too she would drag the body bag to the plane:scared1: then said she was jk but makes ya wonder who she loves more me or Universal:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Oops - also adding in that the opposing sides of a parallelogram must be PARALLEL - before Mac or another of the math people here catch me on my definition!
