Do you have stories to tell too?

Welllllll .... none that I would dare share publicly!!! :lmao: (So I PM'd you. :upsidedow )

Does anyone watch The Biggest Loser? My SIL and I were watching part of a marathon over the weekend. First of all, what is up with the SHEER amount of CRYING that goes on during that show? For real?! We made a drinking game out of it. Woot, we have tears! Look, tears again! Wow, full sobbing. I am pretty sure they keep a Cost Co pack of tissues on every set. Second, what's up with having to be severely overweight to go on that show? They should have "The Mediocre Loser" for people who are only maybe 30 pounds overweight. I would kick some serious butt on The Mediocre Loser. I'm just saying.

Oh, and thanks for humoring me with my pics of Savannah. She is 4.5 months old. I think you might be able to see her shaved belly because she was spayed before Christmas.

Those were absolutely wonderful. You have such a beautiful family. I had tears running down my face watching you all through the yearsi/m a sap. Thanks for sharing.

I didn't mean to make you cry! I better not share the video I made of my Dad for his memorial service.

Evening everyone!!

Just dropping by for now, but I'll be back!

The DF is bugging the **** outta me and wants attention...men

Oh, I am SO up for a Mediocre Loser challenge. Bring it on Sista...

I did notice the shaved belly, so I'm glad you explained it.

That means Janet, Sharon, Penny, Mike, Jennifer & Katie. Did I leave anyone up North out?

I so desperately need to loose weight and get back to a work out routine. It just seems that every time I get motivated to want to do something I get demotivated very quickly.

That work schedule doesn't sound like fun. Glad to hear you are still going to be able to stay in contact with us. Do you take a big vacation after the 15th to recoup?

Well, personally, I'd consider myself up North! But I'm guessing you mean northeast folks! :rotfl:

I'm exactly the same way on the motivation part!

I also meant to comment earlier about the work schedule. Try to stop in and see us whenever you can at least! Otherwise, we'll look for you to surface sometime in April!

How long have you been on the computer. Hopefully DH will get tied up in a football game so you can back later.

DH never got tied up, but I did doing a zillion other things. First chance back in to catch up again! Luckily only 3 pages!

marci - dont get talked into a mid-sized suv; some of the smallest cargo space i've seen; espec. the Jeep & Saturn. Once they tried to palm off a PT cruiser as one, couldn't even get 2 suitcases in the back.:confused3 Check out mousesavers, entertainment has some good coupons too.

Love the PT cruiser - yeah, I consider that an SUV! ;) I am using entertainment - don't actually have it, but mom has 2 books so I got her spare number, registered it online and you can just do it all online and print out the coupons. That's usually the cheapest rate for normal places - I know big tourist places like WDW you can sometimes find other better codes, but not others.

For all of you who have a list of homies addresses, we have a new one to add to the list! PM me and I will get it to you!

If you could PM or email it that would be great! If you don't have my email anymore, let me know and I'll PM it again!

Okay, my Photo Story file was too big to upload as one continuous video on PhotoBucket and YouTube "failed to convert my file", so I'm splitting it into two files. Here's the first half of my 8th anniversary present to Brad. It'll cover 1998 (when we started dating) until November, 2001 (when Joshua was born).

http://s239.photobucket.com/albums/ff248/MooMonsters/Videos/?action=view&current=8thAnniversary1.flv

Here's the second half, which covers December, 2001 thru Summer, 2007

http://s239.photobucket.com/albums/ff248/MooMonsters/Videos/?action=view&current=8thAnniversary2.flv

I hope that works. Anyway, you can watch me gain... lose... gain... lose.

See, I didn't even notice the gain, lose, etc! I was too focused on the family and cute guys! But I'm really clueless. Remember my story about my mom and the dental problems, which resulted in her losing 60 pounds? She had lost 40 of those before I noticed! :guilty: And I saw her about once a week. So guess I'm not the world's most observant person! On the plus side, anyone could put on 40 pounds before I'd notice either! Thanks for the videos!

So, how do you guys want me to do the wedding pics? You want a mini trip report? You just want me to throw some out there and tell you who everyone is? What sounds good to y'all? :confused3

The more the merrier!

Marcie-enjoyed your 2 videos :thumbsup2
I like the duet piano one. The kid that's playing next to your DS, he sure was flipping the pages fast, wasn't he? I got a kick of the kid flipping the pages  Looks like your DS enjoyed playing the duet, and hte piano in general :thumbsup2
I took piano lessons when I was kid and I remembered how nervous I was to do piano recitals, piano duets etc. Wasn't my thing. My mom kinda forced me into the piano lessons. I love singing alot more :)

Rose - in the video, DS is the one close to me. The other person is his teacher, who's probably about a 50 year old, 200 pound woman. I'm sure she'd be flattered to be referred to as a kid! Told you the video quality wasn't very good!

DS LOVES performing! You couldn't get him on stage singing or talking without forcing him, but give him an audience and an instrument and you can't shut him up! I'm the same way regarding the lessons. Took piano lessons for 10 years and it took 6 months for DS to become better than I'd ever been!

certianly...
nothing worse than peeps who wait a long time to do a TR:beach:

Absolutely! Good thing YOU'RE not like that!

. His grampa told him this was his Christmas present, but couldn't find it around here for PS2. They were not getting any in until after 12/25. So Gramps found one on 1/2. It is set up in the living room. I sang and they boo'd me off the stage.:lmao:

Marci - Son is in band in 7th grade. They started at the end of 6th grade school year. He basically hits the drum pad. But for his school Christmas concert, he got to play the bass drum. So, he was pretty excited about that.:cool1:

I played guitar and drums once each and each time I didn't have to get boo'd off - the game itself told me I was a failure and quit the song! If you don't know, for singing, you don't have to actually sing - you can just say the words at the right time if you don't want to mortify yourself (like me!) Or sounds like you should call Rose to come over and join you guys!

DS also really enjoys the timpani. He had fun with it at band camp this summer - it's like a huge drum and you have to adjust the tension of the covering to get different tunes. Apparently he was the only one who could do it fast enough (it changes during songs) so he got to play it a lot. We also just watched the video of him playing those xylophone things and I never realized he played 3 mallets at the same time (hitting 3 notes at a time with 3 sticks - 2 in right hand, 1 in left). Someday we'll try to load that video!

Oh, and thanks for humoring me with my pics of Savannah. She is 4.5 months old. I think you might be able to see her shaved belly because she was spayed before Christmas.

Oh, come on - we all love cat pics! I'd love to see some as she and Alex become "friends!"

Are the holidays over yet?

Yep. Think so.

We were promised a TR from you when "the holidays were over". popcorn:: :rolleyes1
day 1 is simmering in the TR section, it's sooo long it's embarrassing.

must admit i like to cover all the bases, have kept copies of my old ones & it helps me reminisce.

will make sure to watch the videos when i get a chance to read thru the thread, busy am tomorrow-ma to drs...seems like January is always full of medical appts i put off until after the holidays

i detect a pattern lol

off to watch Gladiators:3dglasses

Okay, quick trip summary! Midwest posted their lower fares today. We decided Boston was the best bet (going out of Milwaukee). If we waited for Southwest's, we'd still be paying an additional $200 for the minivan and driving to Chicago (and dealing with Chicago chaos).

So, we were able to book the air for $203. Could have gotten $188 if I was willing to fly out of Boston (driving that morning from Albany) at 6:30am. I wasn't! ;) Rented the minivan for $317 with the entertainment card. Booked the 3br, 2ba condo ski in/ski out at Killington for $200 for 3 nights. Booked the lift tickets for $600 (see, now THIS is where they get you! And that was with one day free!) Booked the hotel in milwaukee the night before the trip for $79 including 14 days free parking (we need 9). We'd be paying $72 for the parking anyways! Hotel has a pool, hot tub, full breakfast (that we won't be able to benefit by since we'll need to leave by 5am!). Bought travel insurance for $78. Talked to all relevant parties on that end. What am I missing!?:confused3

Anyways, doing all that today on a VERY slow computer (stupid DH had to be backing up stuff all day today) and making lasagna (for dinner tomorrow - yum!) took much of the day. And taking DS shopping for a shirt for the Snow Ball coming up in a few weeks. He HAD a shirt, but no, of course GF went out and bought a dress that didn't match his shirt so had to go buy a different one!

Anyway, catch you all later!

Jodie - Thanks for the story. I feel special!

I didn't mean to make you cry! I better not share the video I made of my Dad for his memorial service.

Goodness no, I would be in a full sob if yo did that.

Evening everyone!!

Just dropping by for now, but I'll be back!

Hi Katie! We are still waiting for that pic you promised us from Halloween!!!!

Yeah I didn't phrase that right, did I? When I coming straight North that will have to include you, mac & Rose. Is that it?

Yippee! I'm going to head over and read it.

Sounds like you have the bases covered. Of course I really have no clue since I've never been snow skiing.

Well after watching the marathon of Cash & Treasures on the Travel channel New Years Day we have made up our minds about our trip this summer. Mikey has decided that when we get to I-40 he wants to turn right!!!! We will spend 3 days in North Carolina digging & panning for gems & gold and then we will head to Orlando for 15 glorious days.

DH will fly home a week ahead of me & the kids. We may add a couple of days to the very end and hit the darkside, still not sure about heading back yet after last years ticket fiasco. DH says no but my heart says yes. Thats why it will be at the end!!

Janet - I really want to go out west but the panning/digging is spread across the entire state and that is one thing the kids really want to do. And when it comes down to it I have a hard time leaving my DVC resorts and going anywhere else. Maybe some day I can make it back out there.

They had the REAL RINGS on that dang pillow! :scared: I never let it out of my sight. :scared1:

They look like little angels! How long did it take to dress them this time? Did Brad survive?!?

Well...the good news is: I don't have to leave the house all day :yay:

The bad new is: today is 'undecorate' day....putting all the Christmas stuff away and putting the tree in the field outback :guilty: I always miss having it around the first few days....hate to pack away those 'favorite' ornaments and holiday things :sad2:

Oh well..at least I'll be able to keep ketchuped today

Did you get all undecorated today??

Rose - in the video, DS is the one close to me. The other person is his teacher, who's probably about a 50 year old, 200 pound woman. I'm sure she'd be flattered to be referred to as a kid! Told you the video quality wasn't very good!

The boys having fun in the snow was great! Don't you like it when they all hang out at your house? At least you know where they are, right?!
During the piano duet, I bet your son was wishing you were turning the pages instead of taping him! How he could keep his place and still fight with the page is beyond me!
To answer you about college plans...were still playing the waiting game. He is accepted at the 3 schools that he applied early acceptance. We won't hear about the 4th one that he applied regular decision until March I think. His top 2 choices still are Embry Riddle and Worcester Poly Tech. Even with the $50K merit scholarship he got at WPI, if you divide that by 4 years, the cost will still be about $48K a year. Definately the most expensive one on his list. He's applied for a bunch of smaller scholarships thru various foundations and companies. We'll see how it all washes out and decide in the next few months.

DS also really enjoys the timpani. He had fun with it at band camp this summer - it's like a huge drum and you have to adjust the tension of the covering to get different tunes. Apparently he was the only one who could do it fast enough (it changes during songs) so he got to play it a lot. The xylophone thingy is called a marimba. James played it at the winter concert this year. The timpani are pretty cool. Not many kids like playing them. At James' school they play 3 at the same time. All tuned differently.

day 1 is simmering in the TR section, it's sooo long it's embarrassing.

must admit i like to cover all the bases, have kept copies of my old ones & it helps me reminisce.

I'm heading over there to read it right now!

Oh, and it's Mike's birthday today ... The big 3-9. Whoa!

Happy Monday to all!!

First of all I wanted to offer my support. From someone who is completely "addicted" to food, I could never do it. The ONLY way I lose weight is by exercising more. Now that does help some subconsciously. If I just spent an hour working out, I'm less likely to just blow all the calories I burned eating junk. But basically, we try to eat fairly healthy, but still have all the junk around. So I am always eating it. I think working is helping some, because I can plan what I bring and make sure it's whole wheat bread and granola bars (and water) and if I run out, that's all there is. As soon as I get rid of the Snickers stash I have hidden in a drawer! :rolleyes1

But I'm interested in the Alli. I saw it on the stores and of course the ads and read about it and was actually considering trying it. I didn't know there were any side effects if you ate certain foods. Since I'm NOT going to not eat certain foods, I guess I'm glad to know this before spending the $60 or whatever to start.

Please let us know how everything goes and maybe you can help motivate us (okay, ME!) to do better! I have to go for my weigh-in at the Y on Tuesday and I'm dreading that. Did the Holiday club thing where you weigh in before and after and if you maintain, then you get some prizes. (Last year, coffee vouchers at a Starbucks-type place here). I didn't get them last year because I gained 1/10th of a pound! I was quite annoyed! (Where's that mad smiley?!)

i have met marcie twice in person.
she is NOT fat
she is thin and trim

she even has muscles............

one of my sons was on xenical which was the prescription form of ali some years back. that stuff was over $120 a script.

it worked. if you cheat, you get the oily liquid mess during the day.

no way, i compared him to richard nixon pages ago:lmao:

i am thinking of running off with the pirate 'nanner though....arrgh, he's hot!

:

you know keisha, i had to look twice at that nanners sword in the middle of her siggie.

i didn't realize it was a sword first time i glanced at it.....:rolleyes1

Your view regarding successful weight loss is exactly in line with my thinking. There are just to many gimmicks and you have to know what works for you and be certain you can stick with whatever you choose.

I'm one of those "I can't eat just one" types, so I have to basically give it all up. Plus, with the Alli, if you eat more than 15 grams of fat per meal, you will have side effects. Alli works with your digestive system, so anyone care to guess what the side effects would be like?? I don't want to experience it, so I've been very, very careful and so far, so good. Matter of fact, I'm feeling kind of freaky about what I eat and examining things like never before. If I'm not 100% certain of content, I won't eat it. I hope to be able to have one of something at some point in my life. I don't want to forever have to give up burgers, pizza, things like that. I guess I just have to get through this then see if I can incorporate them into my life again. Here's something else. . .I've not set any certain number that I want to weigh. I am tall, so I think on the charts I should weight between like 170 - 186. . . sumthing like that. But I honestly don't care what my scale says, as far as that goes. I just want to feel good and be healthier (or is that more healthy)?? I use the scale to know how much I am losing, but it will not rule my life.

Thanks to Sharon who sent me some yummy looking low-fat recipes this morning! And thanks to everyone for all your support. . . I know for certain that I will need it. I am absolutely determined.

Ya'll want to know what really, truly, honestly motivated me to get my big ole butt moving?? I wanna fit in the seat on the MUMMY!!!!!!!! and all the other rides that could be questionable. That is my goal for end of April. . . to be certain I will fit on any and every ride at the parks!!! So in essence, from spending so much time here, and reading all your posts and trippies, you have motivated me. Seriously, I've never been as committed as I am right now. I know it is age and others factors as well, but my biggest motivator is being able to fit on the rides and spend the day on my feet, which, when you are my size, can be challenging. I don't want to spend half my day sitting down and miss doing all those things with my kids, because I'm TOO DAMN FAT! I have lots of poundage to get rid of, and I will by no means be anywhere near my "I'm good right here" weight, whatever that might be, but I plan to lose 40 pounds by our trip. That's a big, giant step to where I want to be.

I need to ketchup like everyone else and respond to everyone else instead of focusing on mineself. Sorry . . .I'll get there.

this is my butt kicking smiley to help motivate all homies to do well on their diet.

wendy, i know who you are and i know where you live.........i'll come kick the butt to help you out anytime you need a homie......:goodvibes

you can do it. i know you can.
i took off 41 lbs in 5.5 months last year.

i joined curves and counted calories.
i also use sparkpeople. com for diets, receipes, exercises and happy ending story people lose weight articles.

my downfall was thanksgiving and people that live with me.
i'm back to counting calories again and drinking the water faithfully.
that was one thing that really helped me.
i learned at spark and curves that if you drink a certain amount of water daily based on your present weight, the pounds drop easier.

no lie, it worked for me.....it's the one thing that made a difference with me.

if you are 140 lbs, then you need to drink 70 ounces of water per day.
if you are 200 lbs, then drink 100 ounces a day.

since Tday, i could no longer say i had lost 41 lbs.
some of it found a home with me again. but this time they are just rentals and not permanent dwellers....
