Hey Rose just wanted to let you know that you and your dad are in my thoughts. Hopefully all will go well and the treatments will beat it as easily as possible. And I agree with Barb, don't think of yourself as poor. You have a wonderful husband & two wonderful children & a whole bunch of buddies in a box to be thankful for. I've been told that until we are happy with what we have we will never get more. I know it is hard, even I get down a lot and I know I have a lot to be grateful for. Keep you head up and come here to vent when you need to.

Barb & Tricia - Thanks for all the advice. It is sad that it took so long for me to realize what it is that makes me procrastinate so much during Christmas. When it hit me the other day that last Christmas was so much more enjoyable because we weren't here it was like a weight lifted of my shoulders.

I told the kids & dh that I will no longer be inviting the family to Allys' birthday parties. They can just get her gifts to her whenever they see her for Christmas. I also told Miranda & Chris that I do not plan to celebrate Christmas at home next year so they can plan early enough to go with us.

And Barb I will go ahead and make room for you, dh, & bubba! Todd is going to join us for Christmas too! Anyone else want to come along?

So I am done catering to the witch. It just does me or the rest of the family no good. From this point on I am doing what is best for my kids. To heck with the old people.

And yes Barb it was strange to take the tree down so early but it had to come down. The needles were coming out by the handfuls when I would run my hand across it. It was really strange anyway cause we never did get to finish decorating. We didn't put up any of our outdoor decorations because the weather was just too crappy. We do have sunshine today though & I am so happy!!!! I need sunlight or I get very cranky!

penny, the bears stink this year.

look where they were last year at this time.

i'll come back with my comments soon.
i'm trying to get motivated

it is now new years eve's eve eve........

wah - i missed the thread ball drop last night;)

went out to eat, little italian joint getting popular; now need ressies. I had the biggest platter of chicken pizzaioli (fantastic red sauce, olives, peppers, onions, mushrooms; topped off with tons of cheese-drool) you've ever seen; polished it off this afternoon after grocery shopping-yum. Am i full, heck no! Making chicken stir fry for dinner, afraid to step on the scale after this holiday

Hope everyone is gearing up for the new year:thumbsup2 and a crushing defeat of the Pats tonight. :rolleyes1 sorry in advance to their legions of fans. Heard on news that a box seat was being offered @ $24 K for charity.

Kfed - i think motrin, specifically 800 mg every 4 hours is the best; oral gel or even whiskey on a cotton ball helps deaden the throb. Best part, sucking on the cotton ball:lmao: jk, feel better:wizard:

Tricia - thanks for sharing the pics, didn't know care bears were "in" again...when did they get so big? Ones my DSs had were 1/2 that size. Your boys look so sweet nestled in their beds. What breed dog is that, he's a biggie - friends used to have one that looked close - a Coonhound?

Rose - hang in there, so much to deal with; don't know how u do it. Your pikachu is sooooo cute.

Tracie - a laptop:cool1: , excellent

lori - been there, done that with in-laws; bet i know why u do it (other than you're a classy gal)...out of respect for DH:thumbsup2u keeps the peace...trust me, he'll never forget it.:goodvibes That said, spending time w/my relatives has given me hives. DS was understanding as to forgetting his anniversary, said i could make it up to him by making him dinner next weekend. Ok by me, luv to cook for a crowd.

mac - when DS got injured on SplMt I wrote to corporate offices...didn't get a sorry; just a legal eagle asking if we were planning action. Said only if they didn't institute better training of CMs/1st aid kits, etc.:rolleyes1. Guess she thought i was kidding when i stated it's not always about $.

penny - if tomlin has 1/2 a brain (and it's looking encouraging so far) big ben will sit the bench. Earlier this week saw a clip of him limping out on BB court to goof with the Harlem Globetrotters.

barb - we luvs our heinz catsup, our lovely state store system has struck again...DHs fav. asti is now only available by the case. I could drive to WVA & pick it up, think they need to come outta the dark ages.

deadliest place on earth has a bit of a ring to it:upsidedow . i'm guilty of enjoying, perhaps identifying with amusement parks/charactars; just don't get the concept of running one down in an attempt to elevate another? Perhaps just a version of sports teams trash talking:confused3

The Care Bears just made a new version cartoon on CBS. Started this fall. Thankfully, my boys have decided to enjoy that version on Saturday morning ONLY and make do with the old (think cheap) versions on dvd. However, I'm fed up with the whole Care Bear thing and am ready to Care Bear Stare myself if this phase doesn't pass quickly. The huge Care Bears were a 25th anniversary special thingy available at Wal-Mart (and at $10 each, why not?).

Our Maggie dog is about 100 pounds of mutt. She has some Bird Dog in her (she points when she smells prey) and she has some Blue Tick Hound in her (and, boy, can she howl like a hound), but goodness only knows what else is tossed in there. Her momma was a full-blooded Blue Tick, but her daddy was a mixed breed. :confused3

spaghetti is cooking,
loaf of bread i made is very "rough" looking, but tastes good

everyone have a great saturday night, last one of 2007!:wizard:

Bubba looks like he knows what he's doing with those cookies. And, hey, you found Jimmy Buffet's salt shaker!!!

That's a lovely necklace... well, they are both lovely... just one is NEW and lovely. ;)

Are you sure Ryan wasn't an immaculate conception? I see nothing but you on that face... :)

Of course, when both our boys were little, all I heard was that they looked just like Brad. Ugh. I'M the one who did the pregnancy/birth thing. Give me something here. Then Joshua started looking more and more like me. HA! Daniel just looks like we picked him up on the front stoop one day. :confused3

Growing up everyone remarked on how alike my sister and I looked. Funny thing is, she was adopted!

We are officially undecorated. All the Christmas stuff was packed away today, inside and outside, and hauled down to the basement. Now I'm just waiting to find that one thing that I missed during my dozens of trips through the house to gather up all the Christmas decorations. I scatter Christmas stuff all over the house and I am always SURE that I have packed it all away until a day or two later I run across something and I have to try to stuff it in box somewhere. I don't know why that always happens.

Oh, and Barb... you may be on to something with the party hosting thing. I was looking through my pictures today from the gathering yesterday.

Here is a picture of the "snacks" I had on my table when everyone arrived...

When I shifted it to "lunch"...

And finally when I added the "sweets"...

Plus I had this setup for everyone to sit and eat...

I wish I could say that I can stop the mad hosting, but it's bred in my bones. If you are coming to my house, you will be well fed and comfortable. Dammit. :headache:

In a couple more years, your phone is gonna be ringing off the hook with pre-teen girls calling Ryan!

Hi Guys - Stopping in from skiing up in the very western corner of the UP of Michigan! I brought the laptop thinking I'd get a chance to catch up with you guys, but DS15 found out that his cell phone didn't get coverage up here, his girlfriend was not with him, and the laptop was the only way to talk to his sweetie! You can figure out the rest! :rotfl:

We drove up in some pretty bad weather yesterday and even let aforementioned DS15 drive for an hour or so in it. Did great driving until I told him to turn into the gas station. He missed the turn (even though I gave him plenty of lead time). But decided to make it anyways. Not the best decision on very snow covered roads. Slid well into the gas station, almost hitting the stop sign for cars exiting the station. :scared1: But stopped a few inches from it while everyone in the entire station stopped what they were doing to gawk at us!

Anyways - skied this morning and snowboarded this afternoon. A bit sore from some extended toeside turns, but otherwise had a good time. No wipeouts at least! Relaxing at the hotel now (a luxury Super 8). We asked for a rollaway and they told us one wouldn't fit in our room! Don't think we've ever had a smaller hotel room. Not for well over $100 a night at least!

Anyways, hopefully I'll catch up with you guys again tomorrow or Monday! Don't forget me too much!

i don't think i like the new faster supposively set up on the dis boards.

for one thing, it is as slow as it was before.
second, i no longer get my subscription notices in my email.

the last one i received is when darkie posted last night.
can't tell now if anyone is posting on the thread now.

i need the soap box

Tricia - these are my two favorites. Looks like the boys (and Maggie) were pretty darn happy with their gifts!

We used to mark two of the gifts for each child as being from Rudolf and Mrs. Claus. :thumbsup2
