I hope things are okay with you Todd. I saw some brief images this morning on tv with "Florida Storms" as the tagline. Looked like the aftermath of a tornado, or at least some fierce winds. We'll have to check on the in-laws in Oviedo. Well, MIL and FIL anyway. SIL and her husband flew to Chicago for the weekend. What a great weekend to fly to Chicago.

I spent the morning helping my mom get a Wii for my niece and nephew. We were at Target at 7am. They were handing out tickets as you arrived. We were number 110. Some people had camped out since 8pm last night. We had an hour wait until the store opened. They escorted the folks with numbers to the electronics dept. One by one they let people go to the Wii display, pick what you wanted, then check out. So, you waited in line, but then you got to shop the section all by yourself. No pushing, shoving, grabbing. Nice. They had 136 Wiis. We were done by 9am. I'm sure they were completely sold out within minutes after we left, since we were 110 out of 136. At least I don't have to haul my mom from store to store anymore.

I'm going to try to get some cookies baked today for a gift bag for Joshua's teachers. Peanut butter kisses are first on the list...

Same here they say snow but only sleet and just starting to have light snow.

Hey Tricia...the storms didn't last long and it's actually been a nice day here. The winds are pretty gusty but nice and sunny. Temps have been steadily falling and expecting to really feel it after dark. I went to have the brakes checked on the car and was told the pads have plenty of life left but the rotors in the back are slightly under the manufacturers specs. To replace and turn the rotors on the back and install new rotors would be $335!
Nope...not today and then went to Best Buy to see what they had. I can't believe they have CSI: Season 6 for $72.99 and Season 7 for $69.99...forget it. Then I went to Borders and got a new calendar for the house and the Charlie Brown Christmas CD...I love those songs on there. I headed home for lunch and am just waiting for the Survivor finale tonight.

Thats my day.

I wish it would snow here in FL.... I'd love to see some snow.

Speak for yourself...I don't miss the snow and ice...that's why I moved here.

Barb - thats horrible!!! I'm trying to be thankful. When she was healthy she was a mean old bitc....bat. She's been in the nursing home about 2 months now. We had a phone hooked up for her 2 weeks ago. Put our # on speed dial for her. We're regretting the phone now. She has been calling us when she needs a nurse cause she forgets she has a call button. But she remembers how to speed dial the phone????
How did the dinner go with the hockey families? DH's hockey buddies are a rowdy bunch!

Quick hi to everyone before we head off skiing for the evening with kids and girlfriend. (DH is driving through the mess from St. Louis - pretty much snow all the way). Were watching the weather channel - what do you know? The odds of us having a white Christmas are 100%! Imagine that! Remember my house pics when someone commented on the snow covering the lights on the bushes? Still the exact same way 10 days later - not a flake of it has melted!

I've been following, but I have to go cram stuff in the car and head out for the 1.5 hour drive. Going there will be fine, but concerned about driving in the dark on the way back late tonight! Not a fan of driving in the dark or the snow!

Hi Penny - I wish the wind would die down. I'm tired of shoveling the same darn snow over and over again.
I've got haddock chowder and biscuits cooking for dinner. I made the Venetian cookies this afternoon. They came out OK but it takes too long to make a batch (3 hours) and a batch will only give me bars for about 1 1/2 familes. I need enough for 12 families.
Think I'll make peppermint bark again. It went over well a few years ago.

Yikes, you must be exhausted. Are you headed into work tonight? We're still getting the snow, ice will be coming later. I can't wait....
Our driveway is an eighth of a mile long thru an open field. When we get the combination of snow and wind it's really hard to stay ahead of the drifts. Thank God we have a plow truck. I could never afford to pay someone to plow 10 times a storm. Is it spring yet? Me crawling out of a snowdrift.
