i am limited on the dates in a way.

i like doing 4 nights at hhn and not just 2 nights.
opening weekend is so crowded due to the deep discounts given out for ep then.
and hhn is only on friday and saturday that first weekend. not sunday

DH got his car back FINALLY on Thursday. It was supposed to have been ready on last Friday. The body shop did a good job on it. We didn't take any after photos, but here's what nearly $8,000 in damage looks like on a 2003 Cobra:

Yes, we are glad to have it back, especially DH! Thankfully nobody was hurt (except for the deer and I don't think it felt too much pain). We have really good insurance, so we were only responsible for $100. DH was just sick when it happened because he loves that car so much!

Just got in from shopping...what a long day! The boys did OK at their meet. Then onto shopping.....everything was packed!! But got a wet suit for $20 and some other things, but still have alot of shopping to do.

I picked the first weekend in October because 2 people at work are already on vacation for Columbus day week, so that precludes us from going then. Isn't the first weekend of HHN usually the very last weekend in September? Isn't that the preview weekend for AP holders?

Janet, I think all the floors at the RPR are pretty much laid out the same way. Tower 3 is our favorite. In fact, I forgot to tell the reservationist that's where we wanted to be when I made the reservation today. Will have to call back to add that. I figure staying at RPR instead of HRH paid for our RIP tickets. Think I'll start some threads that HRH is too loud and rowdy to scare people away and bring the AAA discount at HRH in line with RPR and PBH.

I picked the first weekend in October because 2 people at work are already on vacation for Columbus day week, so that precludes us from going then. Isn't the first weekend of HHN usually the very last weekend in September? Isn't that the preview weekend for AP holders?

Yes...the first weekend is passholder's weekend but it's open for anyone who wants to go. The main thing with the first weekend is for the people who have the Frequent Fear Passes. The FF passes are usually purchased by locals who have passes like me and passholders are offered special discounts on the tickets. It's only Friday and Saturday for the first weekend.....not Sunday. I enjoy going opening night because I can get a first look at the houses and report back to the DISers.

The last weekend in September IS opening weekend but it's not a passholder "preview" weekend as much as it's a passholder weekend mainly because they discount the tix for passholders that weekend. The FF passes are not valid on Friday or Saturday nights (considered peak nights) and the discounts are not as hefty on other weekend nights.

This year because of the bad weather we had, they extended the FF pass and AP discounts to the final weekend including Friday and Saturday.

Clear as mud now?

that and AP constitutes the largest discounts and crowds.

the kinks are not worked out until after opening weekend for the houses, streets and bill and ted show.

i have gone opening weekend 3 times only.
prefer the second weekend for more hhn nights available.

I would be VERY surprised if UO killed the last weekend in September 2008 since the event was so well attended this year. It ran for six weekends this year and it's setting up for six weekends next year...if tradition holds.

I haven't heard anything about the opening date next year so we'll have to wait and see what Universal does.

i was told HRH would honor my coupons and allow me the perks/benefits of loews first program.

last time i talked about this was in october.

if things have changed since then, i'm in the dark.
i am to call early january to set up my dates.
who knows, maybe things have changed and i'm not aware of it.


my coupons expire nov 8th next year so if i can't use them for next october, i'm out of luck then.
have no idea what dates i could go then.
i'm juggling schedules with others in my house to be able to be gone in october.

i'd be better off staying off site if i can't use my coupons

Morning folks! I awoke this morning to find a BAD storm raging through the Orlando area. It's the cold front that will cause a 20 degree drop in temps over the next few days. While I'm ready for some cooler temps, I don't like bad storms. Hopefully this will all blow over by lunchtime.
