Hey everyone!

Didn't the weekend just fly??

Well busy shopping day....got some more stuff

Its gonna be a tough night...the wind is pounding on my windows and I can hear stuff crashing around outside! Luckily, none of our decorations flew away, but some of the lights got smashed. from last night's wind. No snow here, just rain, icy mix and crazy wind!

Gonna be a sleepless night but only 1 week of school until vacation!

Unbelieveable day today

Just by to say and I'm still alive (barely) and have read....will try to post tomorrow night....after work, dinner, soccer game, grocery shopping (cuz I didn't get to it today), putting the laundry away and homework....

Saw something interesting on the way to see Santa today....remembered late, but remembered to take a pic...but, not uploaded yet.... will try to get to that tomorrow....

Hope the wind doesn't carry Tracie and I away tomorrow .... if I don't return... ya know that's what happened

Oh, I thought I might tell you guys a little secret.......you know the IOA CD that they don't sell anymore? Well I've got mine on eBay right now and it's at $68!

The IOA CD has the "Call to Adventure", which is part of the main IOA theme. It also has the steel-drum mix from Jurassic Park.

I believe I do have an IOA music CD. I'll have to check this eve.

Morning all.....

I've been up since 5:32am (est) when I received my phone call....no skool today Have NO idea why...but the boss ain't gonna be too happy with me Oh well...maybe I'll get lucky and he'll fire me

So, THAT being said, I just "got the gift" of a whole day, and I plan to put it to good use Time to ketchup:

Alison....glad your DH got his car back....when you love a car THAT much, it is actually painful to see it in that condition......thank goodness for 'good' insurance!!! Good luck w/ MIL's tree.... She will appreciate it!

I spent the morning helping my mom get a Wii for my niece and nephew. We were at Target at 7am. They were handing out tickets as you arrived. We were number 110. Some people had camped out since 8pm last night. We had an hour wait until the store opened. They escorted the folks with numbers to the electronics dept. One by one they let people go to the Wii display, pick what you wanted, then check out. So, you waited in line, but then you got to shop the section all by yourself. No pushing, shoving, grabbing. Nice. They had 136 Wiis. We were done by 9am. I'm sure they were completely sold out within minutes after we left, since we were 110 out of 136. At least I don't have to haul my mom from store to store anymore.

How's the tummy....any better?? Did I miss pix of Joshua going to skool in his pj's? THAT shopping trip doesn't sound that bad....especially since I know while you were waiting, it wasn't in the cold! I've never heard of getting to shop the entire 'section' yourself either.....altho, I'm guessing it would slow the line down....but brilliant idea!! (heck, even just 2 or 3 people at a time woulda been okay too....) ....Glad to hear Ma is gonna be a hero!

So...NOW what is your Christmas gift from the folks?? Lucky you having all the nice weather...you make all us northerners jealous.... (Oh, and I watched the Survivor finale while wrapping and boxing up the Fla. family gifts.... kinda thought the winner WOULD win if they had made it to the finals....played a good game! One thing that I always find amusing is how funny I think everyone looks when they gain their weight back )

How did the dinner go with the hockey families? DH's hockey buddies are a rowdy bunch!

Went well...altho, too late for me..... lots of drinking and an inattentive server....the one guy we were sitting 'with' actually said (when his beer ran dry), "Where is this waitress?? She is actually costing this place money tonight" Yep....big drinkers/partiers they are..... when we left, we had a coating of ice on the car (That would be our part of the freezing messy weather everyone seemed to get this weekend.....)

Marice....Glad you had safe travels and enjoyed your ski night...even if you did get injured a bit....still....fun, all in all....right??? Oh, and I think your boys will LOVE their gift!! Is there a lock on the door to downstairs?? (let's face it....once they get that table, you might not see them most of the time anyhows.....) Maybe a little 'private' time

.....it has been a very windy day here today. They have a giant inflatable bear holding a candy cane next to a smaller inflatable penguin in a santa hat. The wind has tipped the bear over slightly and he is now beating the heck out of the little penguin with each fresh gust. They also have an inflatable santa and a snowman. The wind has knocked the snowman over completely and tipped santa toward the snowman so that it looks he is... ummmm... having his way with the snowman with each gust of wind.

Wha? A story like THAT and you (nor Marcie) post any pix?? OH C'MON......

Congratulations to Miami for finally winning a game this season.

Hmmmm...how about that? Good for them..... (altho, I heard some fans DIDN'T want them to win....something about not "securing" first round draft pick?

Lori...don't worry...you'll be fine and somehow pull off SuperMom abilities and come thru the birthday AND Christmas with flying colors! I'm sure you are not the only one "last minute" in your area....there are people who still wait until Christmas Eve to shop, wrap, bake, etc....(altho, I have NO idea HOW they do it), you'll just be one of "those" people this year...don't fret...the important thing is your family was safe out of that storm..... don't lose sight of that. (I know, I know....try telling a 9 yr. old that when they expect Santa to stay on schedule ) Good luck and we understand if you don't have time to chat w/ us....really, we do......

Oh...almost forgot..... about that something "interesting" we saw yesterday.....

After picking Bubba up at my Mom's (where he spent the night before), we went to the mall to get this:

On our way IN to the mall...we saw this:

Yep....somebody's car on fire!! Now...we could see flames dripping under the front....but, being the blonde that I am, didn't think of taking a picture until it was too late.... (TOTALLY forgot I had the camera on me [because of going to see Santa]

)

We only knew because when we were going IN the door, some guy came running out (sayin' "xcuse me") the door with a fire extinguisher. Well, let's face it...if someone runs past you with a fire extinguisher, you LOOK to see where he is going and what is going on! He used 2 full extinguishers and still could not get the flames out (the dripping oil was burning). Ironically, the fire station isn't all but down the street (not even 5 min away), but this guy almost had it out by the time they got there! By the way...the burgundy SUV you see is his...turns out, he was parked a few rows over and was volunteer fire! He moved his car over there to block traffic, opened his hatch and put his 'fire pants' on ..... didn't know they 'carried' them in their cars

(and yes....it WAS raining....and hard )

Finally, after using a crowbar for about 5 minutes, they managed to get the hood opened:

Now...my first thought was:
My second was: either someone is gonna be about their car OR they are gonna be cuz now they'll get a new one. Imagine being in the mall shopping and coming out to see your car: up in smoke, on fire and/or towed due to the damage! Then, I thought....imagine if your NEW car was parked NEXT to the car on fire! Oh well......

So, that was our little excitement thrown into a hectic day......

great pick of your kid with santa and think I would be a little upset if my car was on fire like that and before I forget we went to Kroger the other day and who did we see yep santa he must needed some groceries lol and tried to get ds 11 to take a pic with but he said no and was having no part of not even for a candy cane which is his fave.

Barb, Bubba looks so sweet sitting there with Santa! (my kids wouldn't have their pic with Santa anymore!) I guess he hasn't been corrupted by the older kids telling him that Santa's not real, has he? Some kids.....
That was some fire at the mall! That would be terrible for something like that to happen and I wouldn't have wanted to have been parked next to it either!

mailing out the 2 nephew and 1 niece card with the money. i have more than 30 nieces and nephews, but my sister behind me, she is number 8, i am number 7 and brother is number 6, well they had kids when everyone else's kids had kids(confused yet) so, i just give to them. they are 13, 11 and 9.
i was giving 5.00 for the card but good old auntie upted it to 10. be forewarned auntie is nice for b-days and x-mas and valentines day and easter, so i think 10 is okay.
and, all threr are my god children. they are the only ones.
of couse , i insisted when my sis got preggers and called me 13+ years ago and i said, I AM THE GODMOTHER OF ANY CHILDREN YOU HAVE. she had 2 boys . bro's wife had 1 girl, and they asked me. (how sweet) was kinda shocked at that one)

yankee swap at work on tuesday. yes, i bought my 20$ gift. i got a red sox hat so all the guys will fight over that.
as long as i dont end up with candles i will be happy. i like gift cards.

i hate cabin fever. especially in december.

Barb - Great pics of Bubba with Santa. The pics mom had taken this weekend are not digital so I will see if I can possibly find tim to get them scanned & posted.

Sounds like lots of fun at the mall. Can't imagine walking out of the mall and seeing my car like that. Great weekend they had.


Alison - It really iritates me that some kids have to try to ruin it for other kids. Ally asked me this weekend if Santa filled the stockings or me. I said Santa did and she asked if I was fibbing! Asked her why she asked that but she would never say.

Penny - Dis was very slow last night so it wasn't you. You are a great auntie.

ky07 - I love angels too and have plenty of them, but it isn't over done. But I can not do candles. My allergies just can't take them. The smells stop me up immediately.

I am fixing to head out to take pics for my sisters magazine. Won't be back home till later this evening.
