Todd - like this?

I couldn't remember what they looked like, so I googled one. Maybe some day you can find one and restore it.
Oh yeah! My neighbor had a dark blue one with a black top when I was a kid and I loved it.

This is my ultimate dream car....A 1979 Lincoln Mark V Collector's Edition. I want one that's totally originally and unrestored. What do you think?

That is one behemoth of a luxury car! :goodvibes I don't think it would fit in my garage! Money wise, it would be alot more doable than a mustang. T:thumbsup2 he gas mileage might kill you though.
If you were ever homeless you could live in that sucker along with 3 of your best friends.

you make me laugh
here i was so worried about psycho sil karen and how difficult today would be for you and she didn't come.

you have a gift in writing.
and we don't want to hear about your stinking weather like todd posts about.
if i have to suffer, everyone has to hear about it......:rolleyes1

At least I don't have to go over my house with a magnifying glass like I do after Karen has been for a visit. I have never had her inside my house where I didn't find a pill of some variety after they leave.

I have small children for criminy sakes. Keep your prescription drug habit the hades outta my house!

She has Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. What "stress" caused this "disorder", I haven't a clue. She also has a long list of other crap she's been diagnosed with. In other words, when the attention and excitement from the current problem fades away, she comes up with another one. :sad2:

I am glad today was a fun, complication free day. Now, I just have to convince my boys that it really is bedtime so I can collapse. :faint:

I always get this email a few times during December. It makes me laugh every year...

It's the BEST Christmas Cookie recipe EVER!
Feliz Navidad Christmas Cookies

1 cup of water
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup of sugar
1 tsp salt
1 cup of brown sugar
Lemon juice
4 large eggs
1 cup nuts
2 cups of dried fruit
1 bottle Jose Cuervo 151 Tequila

Sample the Cuervo to check quality.
Take a large bowl, and check the Cuervo again to be sure it is of the highest
quality, pour one level cup and drink.
Turn on the electric mixer.
Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl.
Add one teaspoon of sugar. Beat again. At this point it's best to make sure the
Cuervo is still OK, try another cup just in case.
Turn off the mixerer thingy.
Break 2 leggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit,
Pick the frigging fruit off floor.
Mix on the turner. If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers just pry it
loose with a drewscriver.
Sample the Cuervo to check for tonsisticity.
Next, sift two cups of salt, or something.
Check the Jose Cuervo again jush in case.
Now shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts.
Add one table.
Add a spoon of sugar, or somefink. Whatever you can find.
Greash the oven.
Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over.
Don't forget to beat off the turner.
Finally, throw the bowl through the window, finish the Cose Juervo and
make sure to put the stove in the dishwasher.

CHERRY MISTMAS

Follow-up:

I jesh made theesh. S'veddy veddy gud. Ashually, I think I started theshe lash year. Shtill waiting for the oven to be done. How long do cookiesh take at 71 deg? 352 daysh not enough. Meanwhile, Jose Curvo is goo-oo-ood friend waiting for the chrismass cookies with me. Will get back when ... darn, my glass is leaking! Need miracle cloth to round it up - hold on.

Merry Navidad to all.

Tip for all trying to remodel their fridge. Wine fridge more useful than oven, hot fire-thingy or fast-heater radiation noissy rotating plate doo-hicky. can't cook without good alcohol. And with good coold alcohol, cooking not neckessary.

I love Click and Clack.
That article was in our newspaper last week I think. How true it is. I once drove a car with the check engine light on for 50 miles (thats how far from home I was). It was still running ok, so why stop and check it, and what was I going to check it for?

Sharon - If it makes you feel better, we drove home to Detroit over Thanksgiving. Got as far as Sheboygan (about an hour south) before our check engine light came on (actually I think ours says "service engine soon"). We drove the remaining 8 hours to Detroit, decided since it was working not to mess with it there, and drove 9 hours home on Sunday! Actually, if you read the manual, it kind of sounds like if the lights on steadily, it's a "check it out when you can" thing, whereas if the light starts flashing, it's a "get off the road and to a dealer ASAP" thing. We didn't have damage to the car luckily!

On a similar note, though, my coworker's DH was out of town the weekend we got the 8 inches of snow. He assured her the snowblower was all set to go and he'd checked it out. She tried it that weekend, it went down the driveway once and stopped. She tried restarting it several times and called him. He told her to let it sit and try it a bit later. She did and it still didn't start. He called her, slightly panicky, and suddenly suggested she put oil in it. She asked if he'd drained the oil in the spring, and he said yes. Took it to the shop and the engine was totally burned out. Cost to replace engine as much as replacing snowblower - in the $800 range! She was not happy!

We like the way the lights look in the snow too! They'll probably look tackier once it all melts, but it's cool looking for now. I'm the opposite as you as far as K'nex and Legos. We have all zillions of our K'nex's sorted by color in plastic bins/drawers in the basement (that is when they're not all over the basement!). If the kids ever decide to make a model, even if all the pieces aren't there, you can easily grab substitutes. With Legos, it seems like you spent $50 on a model, the kids build it once, promptly lose pieces and you never use them again. We got rid of SO many Legos when we moved (probably the equivalent of 2 huge bins worth, or about a million dollars in kits :rotfl: ). My kids never got into free building with those. But they build all kinds of stuff with the K'nex's!

Tricia - I LOVE your recipe - have to try it sometime! Maybe you should have made it last night when you were already PUI! Although I give, what's DBUI? :confused3 Sorry, guess I'm just clueless! (And blond!)

And it has the longest hood of any car I have ever driven. I've always loved the older Lincolns.

Here is the first car we had when I was a kid: 1967 Ford Country Squire but it was yellow:

Followed by a Baby Blue 1972 County Squire:

Then we had a 1977 LTD II wagon but I can't find any good pix online.

As you can tell....my father was a Ford man. Back then, people still had brand loyalty.

Okay, so by the time I got up today, threw wash in, went to the store and checked the paper, I didn't start cookies till later afternoon and Bubba had a friend over...so, no help from him :( and only got 1 double batch of chocolate chip made....
