Oh my goodness you guys sure did yak a lot yesterday after I left. It will take me forever to get caught up again. :upsidedow Got home from dad's & tree shopping about 7 last night and still had to fix dinner & clean it up. Still can't get one computer to connec't to the internet and don't have a clue why so I couldn't get back online last night.

The icestorm moved in ealry this morning so we will probably not be going to the babies first bithday party today. :sad2:

Tracy - I feel so bad for your little brother & sil. Hopefully they will be able to try again. :sad1:

Tricia - Love you too. Glad you had a good night last night.

Now I will try to go back and catch up some. Ally has started decorating the tree. Maybe I will have some pics to post later.

i ended up preparing 6 dozen. half are baked
and the recipe is not impressing me.....:scared:

 :rolleyes1 must be me.

the ups man has been trying all my stuff, he is looking forward to tomorrows sample!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The kids and I are rockin out while we decorate the tree. Peter Frampton is on HDnet. A concert from 2000. He may be old, but he can still rock!

Penny
You have one lucky UPS man!
Cherry oatmeal sounds good to me! Good luck with that.

How are your parents going to get there?

Sure, whats the problem? I'm certainly no expert but will try to help.

first, there are too many words in the manuel.
i got bored reading it and need to have someone tell me in english how to use the digital camera.

then, the parents issue. if i don't drive them, they don't go.

Tell me what brand and model camera you have.

someone loaded them to iphoto for me but i haven't figured out how to post them online.

and i really have no idea what i can do with my camera.
i did find out i can make my black and white cat with a blue collar, a pink cat with a red color......

Thats a great camera. You can't go wrong with Canon. It sounds like you have a pretty good idea what your doing if you can shoot video and than know which button to push to get it back to photos.

Are the photos on your computer? I can help you upload them to photobucket later if you want. I have to leave for a band concert in a few minutes.

I give up. Just know that I have read everything but I can not keep a computer online long enough to get caught up.

The tree is up and decorated. I will try to load a couple of pics later on.

I'm here. I'm tired. Extended family has been fed and hugged and sent away again. Just brother came without the drama queen in tow, so a good afternoon was enjoyed by all.

If anyone in this house needs to eat again today, they will have to pick up the phone and call someone who cares.

Oh, and we hit a record high of 74 degrees here today. Supposed to reach into the 70s for the next 4 days. Somebody turned winter off? :confused3

I'm here as well. Don't really have a chance to respond because I STILL have to go back to wrapping (which is literally all I've done all day)! Have all the presents for others all boxed up and ready to go to the post office at least. Have all ours and the kids' presents for "pre-Christmas" wrapped and under the tree (other than the few I'm still waiting for in the mail - that exciting cactus for one!). Unfortunately none of the Christmas Day (Santa)ones are wrapped at all so that's the next step! The cards and stamped and sealed and written and ready to go out tomorrow. What's next? :confused3

Just some pics to share quickly while I have them uploaded here!

The exciting Christmas tree, with only a few presents under it last night:

Outdoors all lit up with our shrub lights, outside tree, and cute new large-size bulbs (you can see some of the snow):

For those of you missing the snow, DS burying his brother in it in the backyard. Personally, I prefer doing it in the sand. In the sunshine. In Tricia's 74 degree weather rather than the balmy 19 it's up to here right now!

DS12 with his coaster he built in the basement - yep, it's bigger than him:

IMG_1612.jpg

Another view so you can see more of it (and more of the messy basement - this should make some of you feel better about your houses!):

And the cartoon I think of with regard to the 80's (yes, this was actually in the early 1990's):

Ketchup with you all later!

it took me 10 months to figure out the turn on button thingy......
i'm not doing well with it.
the video and pics.......i slide the little lever until everything stops moving.
i'm pathetic..........:sad2:

don't give up.
a quitter never wins and a winner never quits.

i'm starting to feel like everyone out there has started the shopping and tree already.

i have an excuse.
i don't know how to load the pics from iphoto to the thread.
and, i haven't started yet to shop, etc.....

when i was at the store, i bought apples.
just put my apple crisp pie in the oven.

yup, i made that brown sugar lumpy topping on it also.

i forgot to peel the stupid apples when i sliced them up and put them on the crust.

oh snap.
it's too late now to fix it.

marcie, your basement puts mine to shame.

some day i will give the nickel tour of my dump and you will see what i have been yaking about..

i see all those storage containers with lids on them in that first picture missy.
the junk in the other picture looks great to me.
it all fits in one little section of the corner.

i bet you match socks also..........

you make me laugh
here i was so worried about psycho sil karen and how difficult today would be for you and she didn't come.

you have a gift in writing.
and we don't want to hear about your stinking weather like todd posts about.
if i have to suffer, everyone has to hear about it......:rolleyes1

back to marcie, you have a beautiful tree.
your house looks so kewl and great on the outside.

how many inches are you up to now marcie?
we got 12 here now.

I'm attracted to the 60's and 70's European cars. Like the Austin Martins, Alfa Romeo's and Jags. I think I watched too many James Bond movies. I also watched the Le Mans races with my dad as a kid.

this next car doesn't compare, but it was the best I could afford at the time. I bought it new and it was orange, my boyfriend at the time had a hobby set-up in his mother's garage with paintguns and such. I don't think I had it a month before he convinced me to let him customize it. I thought my mom was going to have a coronary.
He added the spoilers and did all the striping too. The 2nd photo shows the new tires and wheels somewhat. I have the world's crappiest scanner.
The spoiler acted like a snowplow in the winter!

I love the Camaro...looks like a 1977 model? I always liked those but really wanted an early model Monte Carlo.

Mac - thanks for the basement compliments! I didn't consider the thousand storage bins to be a big positive in the basement. What you can't see are the still approximately 20 wardrobe boxes and "lots" of regular sized boxes still from the move all stacked up. Hey, it was only 18 months ago! ;)

We really haven't gotten too much more snow. We got about 7-8 inches last weekend, then I think two nights when we got 2-3 inches each. But we missed the last few storms here that I think are going south by you instead! (I think the one we got 3 inches was when they said Kenosha area got more like 9). And they kept saying dire things for last night, but I don't think we got more than a dusting. But of course the cold temps are keeping any from melting.

First snowfall DH did a poor job shoveling and the driveway (of course the side where my car backs down) tapers in at the bottom. Driving back in the dark, you just can't see the snowbank which is jutting into the driveway and I actually dented in the front side of my car! We tried to go out with shovels (real ones, not snow ones) and chip away at the bank, but it's solid ice now so it's not going anywhere. Guess I just have to keep remembering to slide over as I back out!

Since we're talking about cars, can I give you guys a link to an article I found hilarious? :confused3 Just read the first article. It's just so exactly me since I bought my first car because it was cute and red and small and my attitude toward my car is just how they describe women! Stereotypical, but funny none-the-less:

Todd - like this?
StonyCreekMeet04.jpg

I couldn't remember what they looked like, so I googled one. Maybe some day you can find one and restore it.

I still like the more rounded softer look.

rv8rear.jpg

Either way, their out of my reach right now!

There's a bar called the Blue Martini in the Galleria Mall in Fort Lauderdale. At night on the weekends, they valet the super expensive I can't even afford to touch it cars right by the front door so everyone can ogle them. We sure don't see cars like that here in Maine. I saw my first Lamborgini there. I was in love
.

I love Click and Clack.
That article was in our newspaper last week I think. How true it is. I once drove a car with the check engine light on for 50 miles (thats how far from home I was). It was still running ok, so why stop and check it, and what was I going to check it for? Come to find out, the oil had all dripped out somehow. The person I was living with at the time was not impressed. It cost me a small fortune to have the engine rebuilt. And wouldn't you know it, not 2 months later, we were caught in a hail storm and the insurance company totaled the car.

I also thought the article a bit below this one was funny too. It's about a women with long hair who wants to cut a hole in the headrest for her bun!

Jim had a 70's firebird

I had a 93 mustang

My Dad had a 1971 Road runner

Am I now in the muscle car circle?

I love the small shrub with the snow covering the lights.

That's an awesome roller coaster. I should ask James if he wants his connects any longer. He's got 2 hug tubs full of them. I'll send them to you if James says ok.
There's no way he's going to part with his lego's thou. We turned an unused room into his Lego room years ago. DH even built him a table with a rim around the edge and the top is covered in base plates. He must have spent thousands of hours there when he was younger. He has all the different size pieces sorted in drawers and tubs. He used to hate it when his friends came over and messed with system! He even put all the directions into huge 3 ring binders. Now, if only he could keep his bedroom clean!
