YAY!!! Way to go! Sounds like a fun day and a really GREAT game! I enjoy games SO much more when the fans are demonstrating good sportmanship too :goodvibes Good for them..... So, does that mean they are in the Citrus Bowl now? (gotta know who to root for) And....how did that tshirt 'go over' in the parks?

The Citrus Bowl is the venue they played in Friday. That is the same stadium that the Capital One Bowl will be played. GO GATORS!
I was fixin' to wear the 2 girls shirt Sunday. They were all over the local Orlando news saying how cold it was going to get Sunday and we didn't take long pants or jackets. The kids opted to high tail it home to the warmth of south Florida rather than going to Universal. It was 81 degrees during the game but it was down to the 40's here this morning. We didn't need to scrape ice or shovel the walks or anything.
BTW, I can't open youtube at work so I'll have to email it home to see what you sent.

I've read everything. I promise. Daniel is still very sick and I can't type much because he doesn't want me to put him down much. Hopefully the medication will start kicking in and things will be better tomorrow. :confused3

here is an idea! since i live the furthest northeast,
i get a big bus, and haul 20 minutes to get sharon.
we then proceed to Jersey, get Jodie, and continue out to get our PA homies. Marcie can thumb down and join us, Lori can horseback it across to Tricia, and we can grab them on 75 in atlanta, and haul butt to the gates of paradise. Gemma will have to swim across the atlantic. she can do it. she is young
enough. hope i did not miss anyone. oh, carole can come too. thats what friends in a box are for.
shall i start reving the engine??????

Guess I'll have to stop on the way and pick up Rose and Mac in Chicago! (You forgot Mac?! ) Katie's somewhere out in NY by you guys isn't she? You could catch her on the way to Jersey! Or, I'm thinking if we're planning this for next October, instead of walking my normal 5-6 miles here each morning, I could just head down now! I should make it by October! At least I'd probably have less of this -6 weather junk the further I got!

Good luck Tricia. Hope the little guy starts to perk up soon. In the meantime, enjoy the snuggle time. Believe it or not, in a decade you'll remember those times wistfully!

Off to work!

poor little one hope he feels better

just wanted to say Hi to all the homies and try to get on later.
due to stomach hurting today.
so to all have a great day.:yay: :yay:

Have a color cookin'...just checkin' in.....

Tricia...I'm sorry Daniel isn't feeling better....you're doing the best you can do.... better to be home than in the hospital  Believe in Christmas magic :wizard:

(You forgot Mac?! )

Nah....nobody forgets mac.... :goodvibes She's ALREADY THERE preparing for our arrival :thumbsup2

Hey Kentucky....(btw, you have a real name or nickname? ...I don't want to call you "ky" :headache: )
Not sure what it is with all the tummy troubles around here lately..... hope your belly feels better soon :wizard: :grouphug:

Back to work shortly.....

(not a bad day thus far....last client gave me $100 for Xmas :woohoo: )

Tricia...I hope Daniel feels better soon.

I had the worst day ever today. Penny (my dog) was good this morning and even ate some ham! Then we went to the vets for her injections and came home again when she took a turn for the worse. She got really bad and had to go to the emergency vets for an operation and we thought she was going to have to be put down. Well....me and my mum just sat and cried and cried for hours. Everywhere I looked were her toys..her bed- everything. The vets have called recently and said her operation went well and if her results from the tumur come back as non-cancerous then there is no reason for her not to make a full recovery so Im hoping that the tumour was benign.

Im back in Liverpool on 5th January and it would kill me if she had to be put down and then I had to leave or if she was still really sick. We've decided as a family that we don't want her to suffer so if it's cancerous then we will put her down which nearly killed us all to say.

some musings, thoughts and other stuff that run through my head( be afraid, be very afraid :scared1:  )

the solid ice on the driveway has a beautilful sheen to it. kinda like rockefeller plaza, without nbc filiming it.

just read about all the reruns and such. the writers left the table, and are not even speaking to the studios.

L O S T returns Thrusday January 31st at 9pm with 8 episodes. just enough to whet some appetites and make us scream for more.

MEDIUM
returns in January with 9 episodes. back on Monday nite. around 10 pm.

all the CSI shows will remain in reruns, along with everything else.

i have finally adjusted to the dark at 4:30. only took like 7 freakin weeks and i feel like a bear. i need a vacation intervention.

made bread last week for the first time. came out okay.
used a mix and slapped it into the pan voila'- fresh white bread. maybe i will try a new mix this weekend.
there is just something about fresh bread with soft creamy butter, mmmmmmm.

was thinking of decorating the tree and shipping it to chicago for Mac. then she could ship it back the next day.

here is an idea! since i live the furthest northeast,

Wow, Penny, that is one LOOONNNGG haul of a road trip ... ME with stops along the way to FL. I'll require an RV with 1000 threadcount sheets, a deluxe toilet, a jacuzzi, and a fridge full of good wine and Yuengling Lite. Not it for a designated driver. No backsies! :goodvibes

Blockbuster sent me the last season of LOST in my mail queue, except they sent Disc 2 before Disc 1. Hmpphhhh. Anyone else but me think CSI is getting a little silly this season? Used to be one of my favorites. Now, not so much.

Anyway, mac, how are you? Sorry you've been going through a rough patch. I'm here when you need me!

Tricia, sorry you and the wee one have been sick. Feel better soon! :headache:

Mike, sorry you lost your power. That totally sux. :(

MF, congrats on your great win! Did you do something stupid when the camera was on or did you maintain your high standard of decorum? And no Universal? Wha-wa-what????

Barb, I have been meaning to tell you that your pictures of the car fire cracked me the heck up. Did you contact the owner and offer pics for his insurance?! :goodvibes Oh, and how about Alecia Lane?! I assume you get Philly news like we do?

Sorry I am lost on most of the football talk. You might as well be speaking Swahili to me.

What have I missed in my perusal? Where are my cliff notes?

Lori and Marcie, how is your weather holding up?

Welcome back Gemma.

Hi everyone else.

OOOOOHHHHHH.... I have to say my "I  Mitt Romney '08/Merry Fricking Christmakuh, Butt Face" bag arrived today, and it is all that I hoped for! Actually, it's very good quality, and I'd recommend the service if anyone is ever in need of a creative gift: http://www.spreadshirt.com They were very reasonable too (I thought). Plus, ebates was offering a double rebate on them, so I got 34% cash back. Does anyone else do (or know about) ebates? http://www.ebates.com. Whenever I order something online, I check if the store is on ebates. I access the link through ebates, and a refund is sent once my order is completed. I ordered print cartridges with 32% cash back. Land's End has like 3% cash back. Nike has 6%. They have 100s of stores, and it's free to join, and I don't get any spam. They just need your snail mail, and they send you a check. I have Mike trained now that he's not allowed to order anything on line without checking ebates first.

Seriously, I wish I could take a picture of my bag to show you. But I don't know what Mike did with our camera. :upsidedow

Oh, and did I mention that we got a Christmas card from the Royal Pacific Club Lounge staff yesterday? Guess we're missed there. :goodvibes

after 4 years of trying, youngest DS finally qualifed for National Academic Games...to be held in sunny Orlando this spring:teacher: , in the same game i qualified in almost 40 years ago:eek: i am a dinosaur. Skool district flew us down, all expenses paid...now it's via a 20+ hour ride on a bus & we pay for it.

ps they're supposed to visit either wonderworks or universal...guess which one he's voting for lol?

Janet - what is the National Academic Games? I don't think we have them here in the Northeast. That's awesome that you both qualified. Following in his mom's smart footsteps! :cool1:

I haven't been here in a few days, have been without power since Saturday, the generator is powering our fridge, pellet stove, TV, some lights, and now my laptop. I didn't have cel service until a few hours ago, which is how I'm online now, with Verizon Wireless. The thing that sucks the most is that less than a mile in each direction, houses have power!!! I live in the country, but it seems that just the 6 house on our road are without power. Anyway, not sure where this thread is at, sorry if I interrupted or cut in, I just wanted to rant about not having power

Mike - Here's hoping you get your power back soon. :wizard: I bet your glad you bought that generator now! How do you like the pellet stove? We've been considering purchasing one.

Did get very annoyed with DS14 though today. He had his first runthrough of the musical after school today. He had no idea of when it was over. I told him based on the other kids' schedules and the fact that DH was out of town, that I could either pick him up at 5:00 or 6:30 and he'd have to work around those.

So he found out rehearsal was until 5:30. What should he have done? I'm thinking either option A: ask to leave a half hour early. Or option B: wait around afterwards and do homework, etc. Well, he went for option C: tell the director he couldn't come because he didn't have a ride home. And then come home after school and hang out. :confused3

Hi Marci - It always makes me happy to hear about other kids making stupid decisions too! :rolleyes1 James got his first car not too long ago ( a hand me down from Grammie). When he got it, I told him to have an extra key made. Nagged him about it for a few weeks. Well, yesterday he went outside to warm up the car before school and preceeded to lock the keys in it. I let him stew about it for awhile, had him figure out what he was going to do. Than got out the extra key I had made. (Cause I knew this would happen!) He was pretty relieved. :lmao:

Before i turn in.....Mommy-brag.... (sorry :rolleyes1
2nd to last soccer game of the session tonight..... This was the second time we played this team....They were the first team we played when the season started and we tied 4-4. Well....we won tonite 4-3.... (even tho they scored their last goal pretty late in the game :scared1: ).... Anyhow...that makes us undefeated with 1 game left...and that is against the only team without a win this season.... (prolly just jinxed us by saying that and we'll lose big time :sad2: ) They have playoffs and championship games scheduled for Jan 7th...so, we'll see how goes....

EXETER EAGLES undefeated (thus far) :cheer2:  :cheer2:

Barb - Ryan needs to wear the same clothes, right down to the underwear to the playoffs. Hopefully you haven't washed them! My hockey goalie son had a fit one day cause I washed his hockey jersery before a big game! :confused3 :lmao: Silly me thought he might like a nice smelling jersey instead of one that would knock you over....

no tree up yet, did medical tests, results sometime tomorrow, dad having surgery friday morning and i need to be there (doc now wants 2 blood relatives present before surgery for the "talk") and haven't done any shopping yet.........or baked, or food shopped or done cards yet.

but i did remember to feed the cats this morning and when i got home this evening. that is a good thing

once i get past the sitting and staring episode i'm going thru, i'll be back and be witty.

Mac - I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that the results were favorable. Will be thinking of you on Friday. :grouphug:
I bet the cats won't let you out the door without their breakfast!

penny - is that the white fudge? DH insists i make some white stuff every year made with Karo syrup & lots of beating (cannot remember the name, looks like meringue?), it's very tempermental too:headache:

Janet - Are you thinking of Divinity? My gram used to make it. I make it once in awhile. It's a PIA.

sharon - not sure if it missed it, did your son decide upon a school yet?
I try not to bore you guys with his college search. We're still waiting to hear from Rochester Inst of Tech. He got accepted to Embry-Riddle in Daytona. They offered him a $45K merit scholarship. He also got accepted at Worcester Poly Tech. They haven't mailed out their scholarships yet. I would like to see him go to Worcester (WPI) cause they belong to a consortium of 10 schools that he could take courses at. Plus WPI offers more engineering degrees. He would like to go to Embry cause he wants to get his private pilots license. Embry sits on the Daytona airport. It will be interesting to see which school he chooses. But I've warned him, seeing as I have a financial interest in this, if one school offers way more $$$$ than he needs to be seriously thinking of that school.
As Barb would say - Mommy brag ahead - James was 20 points short of a perfect score on his SAT's. He's scored 4 and 5's out of 5 on his AP exams and he's a presidential scholar for having a perfect score on his PSATs. So those darn schools better come up with some serious money for him!!! - Mommy brag over -

I've read everything. I promise. Daniel is still very sick and I can't type much because he doesn't want me to put him down much. Hopefully the medication will start kicking in and things will be better tomorrow. :confused3

Tricia - hope the little guy is feeling better soon. Seems to be alot of stomach stuff going around too. Are you back to normal yet? Healthwise that is?!? ;)

Mummydust wishes for your pup Gema... :wizard: How old is he/she?? Definately part of the family....and we've had a lot of THAT kind of heartbreak on this thread lately....come to think of it, haven't we "lost" more pets than people in our family on this thread???

Wow, Penny, that is one LOOONNNGG haul of a road trip ... ME with stops along the way to FL. I'll require an RV with 1000 threadcount sheets, a deluxe toilet, a jacuzzi, and a fridge full of good wine and Yuengling Lite. Not it for a designated driver. No backsies!

Okay....who invited Miss High-Maintenance??? :confused3

j/k buddie

I don't think ANY show ever stays as good as when it started....look at older episodes of Friends compared to the end ones....much better in the beginning..... But, I think CSI holds it own....they always have ya wonderin'..... oh...and I love when they "glue" stuff

Barb, I have been meaning to tell you that your pictures of the car fire cracked me the heck up. Did you contact the owner and offer pics for his insurance?! Oh, and how about Alecia Lane?! I assume you get Philly news like we do?

Dunno who the owner of firecar is/was? :confused3 When we were leaving the mall, we passed a tow truck (coming to get it i guess) and we looked around, but didn't see anyone who would look like an "owner" standing around.... I sure hope someone stayed behind so that poor person wouldn't be lost..... would hate to have it be an 'elderly' couples' car..... (it was an older model Volvo)

Yep...Tracie and I know about Alecia.... Sounds like she had a little drinky drinky herself..... I get the Philly news...Ch. 6, 10, etc..... Philly is only about an hour SW of me.

:rotfl2: Glad you like your 'surprise'!! I wish you could find the camera too!! Thanks for the info on ebate...never heard of it.... (don't shop online much cuz of 'shipping' charges :headache: )

Yep...sounds like you were missed at RPR....ya know...VIP customers....

 ick!!! NO WAY!!! They wear the same uniform and matching sox....(had to buy the entire uniform at the beginning of the season :headache: )...so they all wear the same thing and match every game.... except his underwear....I don't know which pair he is wearing which day :confused3 And yes..... I know how bad hockey duds stink.... got a hockey playin' husband  (That smell is WORSE than soccer stink :scared: )

Jody - the bag came out great! Yep, I hope the right person gets the gift, or your gonna be the black sheep for the day!
I'll have to check into that ebates thing. Until just recently I did most of my online shopping thru goldpoints. All the points went onto my Radisson account. In one years time I could accumulate enough points for at least 5 free nights. I guess it was too good a deal thou. Radisson is not using goldpoints anymore. :sad1:

Hi Lawrence - nice to meet cha! Glad your feeling better.

Glad to meet you too and thank you very much :)

To anyone who has joined the thread in the last couple of months- HOWDY!!

My name is Gemma and I am from Northern Ireland but go to university in Liverpool and don't have internet which is why you don't know me!!

Basically, the lovely women on here mother me and always tell me to be safe (with bloody good reason! Im really bad!), I get drunk a lot and decide that it's a good time to write a message on the DIS but actually my message makes no sense whatsoever and I also need american things explained to me (american football/current goings-on in the USA/you holidays that we don't get like Thanksgiving etc)

So again, pleased to meet (sort of) you and look forward to your posts!

Gemma xx

jodie - interesting bag, what i don't know about Mitt would fill the ocean:rolleyes1 ; honestly can't think of any of the batch i'd like to see take the helm...maybe we'll get invaded by aliens with higher intellect:idea: ; they'd set things right.

sharon - Yep, it's divine divinity, makes my teeth hurt thinking about it. you've got an einstein on your hands:woohoo: . I too espoke the golden words as to higher edumacation for DSs: "show me the money";)

Here's the academic game site, it's been around in our parts since late 69 (was on 1st championship team for allegheny valley, pa).
http://www.academicgames.org/ One of the best parts is the kids get to go off on their own, w/o ma & pa tagging along. Already asked DH where he's taking me that weekend lol.

gemma - eeek - NO HAM for dogs, easily one of the worst things you can feed them http://www.greatrix.com/uploads/FataltoDogs.html

I'm starting a new tradition in my family, DS in his 1st home. Instead of going the safe route & treking to hallmark for the "our 1st home" ornament, i bought the most obnoxious, noisy decoration I could find (think of it as a gag gift). My winner this year, 1/2 off @ Lowes - Singing Holiday Pooch/Pit Bull (raps "it's Christmas Time", dances & sings...added bonus a light-up (mouth) grille & snowflake medallion:lmao: ) he'll luv it, she'll feed it to their pug.

Hi Lawrence, always nice to put a name with a screenname! Glad to hear you're doing better. No fun to be sick over the holidays.

Sharon, I never used goldpoints. Sounds like a great deal! Probably too good a deal, eh? In the year that I've been using ebates, I've gotten checks that amount to over $100. They send you a hard check. They don't take your bank account information or anything. Plus, they have double rebates rewards sometimes; hence the 34% rebate on my bag. :thumbsup2 Think I paid $9.30 per ink cartridge going through ebates as well.

Gemma, hope your puppy is going to be OK. So heartbreaking to watch a pet go through any pain. Glad to have you back.

Oh, yes, Alison, your CD was over $60 right? What's the current number? :goodvibes
