Just make sure you take $12 along. You could slip it to Daniel before Jodie smacks him senseless. :rotfl:

Thank you both for the laughs! :goodvibes

Second, I shouldn't have spoken so soon about cooking pasta well... I actually burnt the ziti a bit, but the boys will have to suck it up and like it! :rotfl:

Daniel hasn't paid up yet (I **know** you are all waiting to hear!). He has about an hour and a half before freeding time starts ... stay tuned!

Rose, I am so happy that Matthew played his clarinet so well at the variety show! Those girls were quite snotty, eh? I would never DREAM of telling a PARENT they couldn't sit anywhere when I was in 5th grade, but that's just me. I am glad another mom came in to set them straight (however begrudgingly they did it).

Well, happy commericials everyone! ;)

i feel blue, just found out another one of DS friends (older dude he knew from HS football) died last night in car accident:sad2: . This is his second friend to die in an auto accident (both were really good kids; 1st one just feel asleep @ the wheel they think-was working 2 jobs to get a new car:sad1: ). Didn't really know this boy, he had just called DS 45 min. before the accident to see if they were lifting @ gym before the super bowl...scary stuff.

Okay, I promise I'm going to come back after lunch (grilling salmon - mmm! We actually dug the grill out and it's a balmy 30 degrees and not snowing so it's time for grilling!) and do all my catching up! But here are a couple pics to tide you over in the meantime!

This is what my living room looks like right now!!!

DS asked if it was okay for him to bring a marimba home on Friday. Said sure - what did I know? :confused3 Of course we had to break it down into a zillion pieces to get it in the car, reassemble it at home, and have to redo it at 6:30 tomorrow morning. Lots of fun! Told him he should practice at school from now on!

And here's him playing a sousaphone for the first time (he usually plays tuba):

IMG_1749.jpg

Sorry it was dark in the gym! I'll try to do a video clip of it later!

st L - ur poor wife:wizard: , hope they figure it out soon.

jodie - :confused3 u have ur share of buffoons @ work

marci - the video was great, u r so daring

lori - my ex has a exterminating franchise; i know a roach when i see one;) . Mentioned my experience on the DVC board, felt like a smack-down to me...i was more po'd about desk telling me if i was a "regular" guest i would've been moved, as DVC there was no room @ the inn. Then I had to hound them until late the next day to get an exterminator in the room:mad: mgr hid from me whole trip - *****. Exec. offices tell me he was reprimanded...off with his head. He didn't have to sit up all night in a chair w/a flashlight scaring them back down the wall while family blissfully slept. Know it was probably the result of some dumby leaving the balcony door open; stoopid tourists.

Sorry to hear that.
Its always sad to hear when kids die that young and hope you DS is doing ok and its always hard when you loose a friend like that.

Oh my goodness. How very, very sad. :( So sorry your son lost his friend.

Hey Homies!

Mac, I remember being about 10 and doing crank calls with my sister and my cousin.....that was sooooooo much fun....but I would clobber my kids if I ever caught them doin' that!!!! You know with caller ID and stuff....I'm not savvy enough to know how to block it and I sure don't want them to know how to do it!

you teach them how to block out the caller id.
want me to teach you. i can do it, i'm a teacher....:
teacher:

Would that be Jack Daniels??

don't know any other jack............:rolleyes1

Evening everyone!

Checking in late today....or make that very early.....

Quick summary:

Boys swam very well....meet lasted 6 hours but we made it.....met with friends and fell asleep while we were at the DF's house....

Too tired to try to catch up now...

Hope to catch you all sometime in the morn!

where are you, it's morning time and past it now....

I've been up since 7am. I have to in order to get Joshua's pill in him. That's as much sleeping in as I get anymore.

I thought I was ordered to leave here and molest my husband, so I did. :confused3

and ................did he smile in his sleep?

Well, yeah.

I'm not sure Brad ever woke up, but I had a good time. :rotfl:

maybe he was dreaming of pamela anderson lee............

is anyone making super bowl snack food for today?

I cooked a huge roast chicken yesterday.

leftovers tonight while pacing.......

mmmm.....gravy. mashed taters.......mmmmmm

anyone wanna come for dinner?

me, i'll come.
just doing sub sandwiches, salads, dips, veggie tray and eclairs

Lori and Barb, how did I know that you 2 would be among those gluttons for punishment? I am sure you'll be waiting with bated breath to see what Daniel does today. :lmao:

I am off to pick up the catering order, etc.

Everyone, ENJOY the game! (And for those of us oddballs, enjoy the commercials!).

Yeah I hope they can too cause all she worries about is what her bosses are going to say if she misses more and the house work and I tell her not to worry she has plenty of sick days and I will take care of the house work.

prayers and hugs for you and mary eva

rose: i knew matthew would do great last night!
he should have won first place.

that would be getting on my nerves also about the reserved seating.
i'll do my voodoo here and wish them pregnant.

jodie: we always pay in. we need the money during the year.
tell daniel he can't eat without paying first.
be a hard nose to him.
i don't like him anymore.....

janet: i am terribly sorry to hear about your ds's friend's death.

Thanks Mac and I'm sure if Mary Eva was up then she would say give ya a hug from her cause the lortab they give her for pain not only takes away the pain but makes her sleepy.

Okay, I'm really, really, really annoyed! Just spent an hour multiquoting and posting back about 7 pages on a totally annoying laptop Macbook which I HATE and I swear it hates me (kind of like Penny's snowblower)! Got it all done and hit post and it said "you must sign in" and of course when I did it had lost everything I'd done! AAUUGGGHHHHH! So I'll try again here (now that I've kicked my stupid DH who suddenly had to do stupid taxes on MY stupid computer instead of HIS stupid Macbook)!!

Went to Monster Jam today and it was VERY fun for my DS he had a blast :thumbsup2 . I kind of enjoyed it too. ;)

Our anniversary was good we went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner . We don't usually eat there so it was good. Not really romantic but the weather was so bad yesterday we didn't make it to our usual resturant .later :thumbsup2

Sounds like you had fun. Any time you are doing something the kids enjoy, it ends up being fun for you too! Monster Jam is not my thing, but then again, I've done a lot of things with my kids that weren't exactly my thing either!

We love Cheesecake Factory, but pretty much the only time we get to go there is when we're at Disney Quest. I know there is one in Milwaukee, but we've never ventured to it!

Yep...I notice! 5:30 tonite was still LIGHT out

I'm all for recycling! :thumbsup2 Didja hear they are going to try to do away with the plastic water bottles? People are not recycling them, creating bigger problem in landfills. A grocery store doing away with plastic too...paper or byo. ....:thumbsup2 good idea imho....

Wow - must be nice out there! I have noticed it's light now driving home from work at 4:30, but it's still pretty dark here by 5. I'm definitely looking forward to Daylight Savings Time much earlier again this year too! Anything that gives me more light in the evening (don't need it much at 6am!) is good to me!

::yes:: It's only a year old....the entire school district is on some kind of 'connect-ed' phone thing where they (skool) leave an outgoing mssg., and it is forwarded (by phone) to the number they have on record. Think: email blast ;) While convenient and nice, they have to call early enuf for the high skoolers....hence, the pre-6am call :sad2:

Wish we had that. We also get to watch the TV scroll or go pull it up on the computer. As I said earlier, our district emails us, but usually WAY too late to do any good. I did sign up for the text message alerts from the local TV station, but we never got one of those last week with our snow day either! Guess we're just stuck doing it the har way!

Wait! I'm confused :confused3 Your DH chooses to eat it burnt?? :scared: [:

My folks are the same way about steak. If it's not black and covered with ashes on both sides, then it's still "rare!" Of course you can imagine how much fun we have when they go out with us to eat and we order our steaks medium or medium rare. Imagine a whole meal of someone going "Oh, my God, it's still alive. Look, I can see it breathing! Look, there's BLOOD!"

wow - barb did a good job of bouncing back, makes me wanna dance:dance3: We're bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy Fun! Fun! Fun! Fun! Fun! But the most wonderful thing about SANs is.... we're the only ones!

Love the song Janet! And of course it reminds me of a story! (Have you guys noticed that everything does?! :rotfl2:) When I was in kindergarten, we put on a class play for the parents. I have no idea what the theme of the play was because I also remember sunbeams and moonbeams (who I was jealous of because they got to wear cool streamer skirts!), but I got to be TIGGER! I wore a cute Tigger costume and went on stage and sang the entire song. However, the strange part, was that there were TWO of us - me and Eric Walentowicz, whose name I still remember even though I probably haven't seen him since I was 6! SO we stood up there together singing "I'M the only one!" :confused3 This confused me even as a 5 year old!

My aplogogies to Marcie. I thought she was in Illinois. I forgot about her love affair with Brett and the Packers. Since she and Mac always talks about the mounds of snow, I thought it was same state.:confused3

Wisconsin, Illinois - same difference! But I think we get more snow! ;)

[ now that i am 41, the grey hair strands are doubling every week.

Tuesday is super Tuesday. ignore the tv unless you want an election return overdose.

Know what you mean! I went and got a perm on Friday. The lighting and large mirrors in a hair place are horrible because you can see all the wrinkles and grey hairs up close and highlighted! Feel like "I can't REALLY look that old, can I?"

And Wisconsin evidently doesn't get to vote until after the rest of the country does - sometime the end of February - when everyone's already dropped out and it no longer matters!

Has Jodie told us what happened? Did I miss anything?

Do we need to pass the plate to collect bail money?

Okay, another burst of ketchuping! DH is out with DS15 practicing his parallel parking. Evidently from talking to other parents and teens, they rarely (if ever) ask the kids to parallel park completely - just too risky for them to hit another car (wouldn't look good for the tester! :rotfl: ). So normally they apparently just find one car, and ask the kids to show them how they'd parallel park in front of or behind it. So we have one car out parked, then the mailboxes as the rear reference point and he's trying to get the car between them successfully! Just over a month until he tests, if he ever gets his last couple roadwork classes in!

Night Jim Bob

Now, see, I must not have a great mind because I would have said "Night John Boy!" :rotfl:

Holy crap!!! I NEVER get to wake anyone!!! Altho, it IS 9 am....guess everyone is sleepin in! :confused3

For some bizarre reason, everyone in my house was up and running around when I got up at 8am! This is NOT normal around here with two teenagers! Not sure what the deal was, but it seems like it should be bedtime already since we're been up so long. And got a lot of work done and even finished up cleaning up the basement! Hey, I should go take some pics down there - don't you guys LOVE basement pics?!

Marcie....didn't we see that video before? It looked familiar :confused3

I'd posted one before on youtube of my oldest son surfing. I was just trying to see if it was easier to do on photobucket (it was!), so grabbed one of me instead! Same day, same place, just me this time!

I am sitting here wondering if I will ever again eat bacon, hashbrowns butter. . . and then it dawns on me. . . I can eat whatever I want, whenever I want, but I don't make those choices anymore:cool1:
:

Congrats! You wouldn't have wanted to be around us yesterday! DS had a math competition in Sheboygan (about half way between here and Milwaukee, right on Lake Michigan) - more about that later. During the parts that there was nothing to do, DH and I went over to Kohler to a candy/treats place we'd read about in the paper. Think Godiva, but with a lot more "dessert" items! We brought home a whole bunch of stuff and have been OD'ing on chocolate and various other completely nutrition-free items for the last 24 hours! Yep, I'll need to start working out double this week!

I cannot believe our refund. I think I could feed 3 small villages in both Africa and Guyana for a year with it. So, I have to revisit our W4s once again and hope I get it right this time. I feel like it's such a crapshoot.

Yeah, but you obviously weren't expecting it, right? So you should be ecstatic! Time to plan another trip down south! (Or, weren't you considering a cruise?!)

then the big fat refund is guilt free mad money:thumbsup2

My point above exactly!

marcie - cool video :thumbsup2 I wish I was coordinated like that! My big ol' butt wouldn't have even been able to stand up on that board :lmao:

Yeah, the mistake I made was the second time we went surfing NOT wearing the pair of shorts with the t-shirt over my swimsuit. I'm not sharing any of those pics. Some of them I had to look twice, and it was like "hey, there's a whole 'nother butt hanging out behind mine!" :rotfl: Reminder to self for future swim trips - stick with the shorts!!

I'm not making anything for tonight...I think Papa John's will need to visit.

Funny story about pizza last night. Around 8:30, youngest DS says he's hungry, and starts pleading to get pizza. I ask where he wants us to go and he says "Can't we get delivery? I've NEVER had pizza delivered to my house!" I tell him to let me get my coupons and start pulling them out. He insists he wants Pizza Hut and I tell him I have Dominoes and Papa John's, and we could pick it up. He finally says "Can't we be like NORMAL people just ONCE and order pizza on a Saturday night, without a COUPON, and have it DELIVERED!?!" :rotfl2: So we gave in and ordered Pizza Hut for him!

Don't you feel sorry for my poor underprivileged child?! Never had pizza delivered? Although we also convinced all 3 boys when they were little that it was illegal to drive to the ice cream store if you lived less than a mile away - you HAD to walk or ride your bike! ;) Whenever they saw others pull up in a car, we'd always be like "wow, they must live FAR away!"

Good afternoon homies thought I would say Hi.
After being at the emergency room yesterday form 6:00 pm to 12:00 am with DW cause she was having sever stomach pains and after all the blood and urine work they still can't figure whats going on cause they said everything looks fine and wants her to follow up with her regular doctor and gave her some lortab to take for the pain and needless to say she is in dreamland right now.

Wow - I'm so sorry Lawrence! It's the worst when you sit there that long and they still can't tell you the problem. Always better when they say "oh, it's THIS and here's something to fix it!" Best wishes and keep us updated!

May the Giants win today!! :yay: :woohoo:

Anyways, school variety show went well last night. Matthew did an AWESOME job playing his songs on the clarinet. We did get some compliments from a couple of other parents on how well Matthew did. Made DH and I feel a little special :goodvibes So I am a proud parent :goodvibes

Thanks for letting me vent :)

I agree on the Giants, although I wasn't quite rooting for them a couple weeks ago!

Congrats on the variety show! Always good when they do a super job and make you proud!

And I know what you mean about the seating! They just had our middle school musical and they sold tickets first to the people in the play. Well, one family bought 60 tickets! By the time they opened it to the public, some shows were sold out completely. Now I understand they should have first priority. But here's the kicker - they didn't even make them PAY for the tickets up front. My friend worked in ticketing and said they ended up many of the shows with over 100 tickets left over that were never picked up (or paid for) and people didn't come to fill those seats because they were told the show was sold out. Where in the real world do they give you tickets without paying first? Just ridiculous!

Yeah I hope they can too cause all she worries about is what her bosses are going to say if she misses more and the house work and I tell her not to worry she has plenty of sick days and I will take care of the house work.

:flower3: What a guy! And hey - put those boys to work too! :rotfl:

So, am I the only one left here? Must be pregame time or something! Well, in case anyone gets bored, here's a link to my second video attempt. This is just from the pep band of all 3 boys. First it zooms in on DS15 and his girlfriend on their trumpets, then pans up to DS12 on his sousaphone, then down to DS14 on his flute:

Has Jodie told us what happened? Did I miss anything?

Do we need to pass the plate to collect bail money?

I am happy to report that he paid. (His co-worker yelled at him too. :) ). He also felt bad and went out to get some ice since the ice machine in our cafeteria is broken. So, not only did he pay up, he totally redeemed himself. :cheer2: Now, I feel bad. Almost. :goodvibes

Hey, I'm getting there! I know I didn't go back far enough, but I'm trying at least!

i feel blue, just found out another one of DS friends (older dude he knew from HS football) died last night in car accident:sad2: .

 This is so sad to hear. Hugs to your son in getting through this.

i was more po'd about desk telling me if i was a "regular" guest i would've been moved, as DVC there was no room @ the inn.
That would have really bothered me too. It was like many years ago when we used to go to Cedar Point, they always had these awesome coupon books - good on admissions discounts, but also free games, food, etc. (usually buy one get one free). When I'd call and try to get one, they'd be like "oh, if you have a season pass, we can't send them to you." :confused3 Like because we come regularly and spend money all the time, they can't cut us any slack? I'd usually end up ordering one at my mom's address instead!

cannot believe they let you take it home! DS always luved playing it & another thing (cannot remember the name) long tubes hanging vertically?

DS is doing solo/ensemble songs on this and a vibraphone (not sure if that's the one you mean), but he couldn't bring that home because it didn't disassemble and wouldn't have fit in my car. Of course he's also doing solo/ensemble on the piano, tuba, drum set and snare drum, all of which we have at home!

Okay, finally, the math story. Eric is in Mathcounts - a nationwide math competition for kids in grades 6-8. They had their chapter (regional) competition yesterday down in Sheboygan. Their team came in 4th overall (out of 23 teams) and qualified to go to the state competition in Madison on March 1st.

Also, Eric finished in 7th place overall. He was in 6th after the testing, and the top 10 get to go to the "countdown" round, in which they answer questions and beep in on a buzzer. He moved down one here, which was a bummer because the top 6 got trophies! :rolleyes1 It was really nervewracking just watching him compete, but he did well anyways. We'll see how he does in Madison. He went last year, and came in about 60th out of about 150 kids. Hoping he moves up this year!

Hey everyone!

I know, Mac....just had the opportunity to check in...errands and Superbowl shopping :thumbsup2

Just made the DF some spinach artichoke dip (the TGI Fridays thing) boy does it smell!

Game on in a little bit...I'm sure I will keep tabs and updates here as we go on throughout the evening.

Here is hoping for a GIANTS win and some good commercials!!!

Everyone, ENJOY the game! (And for those of us oddballs, enjoy the commercials!).

xxx

I don't think it's so odd. . . I know lots of people who watch for the commercials. This year, I'm watching for the commercials (and for those tight football pants) :rotfl2:
