came back to lock the door and turn off the lights.

it is now monday........just think, after the work day is over today, only 4 more days till the weekend..!!!

yeaaaaaaaa :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

st lawrence, did you put the cat out tonight yet?

:headache: crap! See, he's off the weekend, and I forgot.... sorry Fletch...no hard feelings!

I'm hot!
I see you made friends with loewsemployee.:lovestruc: Do you think she's real? We could use someone inside but I'm not sure about the bribe thing? :cop:

Good morning Fletcher and the rest of the homies!

Bedding - Marci thanks for your input on the Sleepnumber and Tempurpedic. I think I would be constantly changing the "number" as well. I called and got the info on Tempur but never went any further. I went out and purchased a mattress topper with the memory foam (similar to Tempur). This has made a good difference for us. Think we'll just stick to that for now.

Another work week is here - :headache: :headache: At least, it is a home week for me (only driving to clients (45 min) every day). But I get to keep my morning routine (which involves getting Sonnyboy up:cloud9: ??).

:) Jennifer

OK, finally got to read all the newspapers yesterday from last week when I was out of town and discovered a good article about the tax rebates.

If you don't care, please move forward to the next post (keeping your arms and legs inside the ride vehicle at all times).

Keep in mind - this is President Bush's "suggested" tax rebate. Congress has not officially passed this and it may change.

Basically, a single person will receive $600 and a married couple (filing jointly) will receive $1,200. Each child you can claim for child tax credit will be good for additional $300 each. (basically child must be under 17 - varying rules for divorced parents - i.e. who claims)

If a single person has adjusted gross income of more than $75,000 or a married couple has income more than $150,000 the rebate will be reduced, or eliminated all together for "high income"

If you did not pay $600 (single) or $1,200 (married jointly) in federal income tax, your rebate will be reduced. (Please note this is the amount of tax liability, not necessarily if you write a check on April 15.) But you will still get the $300 per child rebate.

Example - single mom with 2 children making $38,000. Her income tax liability is $433. Thus instead of her $600 rebate she is limited to $433. But she will get $300 for child #1 and $300 for child #2. This will give her a total rebate of $1,033.

There are also special rules for retirees and folks who do not earn enough to pay any taxes.

They are speculating the rebates will be mailed in May or June. They are hoping that everyone will spend their rebate check to "stimulate the economy". YOU do not have to do anything to get your rebate. It will be mailed to you based on information you filed with the IRS with your 2006 or 2007 tax return.

The last time rebates were done was in 2001.

JawsOpinion: This is an "advance" on your 2008 income tax. When you file your 2008 tax return (in April 2009), the amount of rebate will be calculated as part of your return. Thus, many refunds in 2009 will be smaller than normal. Remember you got an "advance" in spring 2008. This is what happened in 2001.

Please PM me with questions - I will try and help you.:)

Good morning, all!

I am happy to announce that my fridge is clean. Immaculate even! The winners were an unopened tub of cottage cheese that expired 3/2/07 and 2 containers of mayo. We don't use mayo in this house, so when we have a BBQ, people know to bring their own and then leave them here. One expired 5/2005 and one expired 3/2006. Woops!

I am looking forward to a meet! Looks like there are a lot of us. I will bring my camera, for sure! I promise to watch my sailor mouth, but no promises on that if we get a wake up call before 11! :lmao:

Jennifer, thanks so much for the information! Are those 75K/150K amounts before deductions (like 'taxable salary' v. gross salary)? And is that based on 2006 numbers or 2007 numbers?

Marcie, enjoyed your pics as usual. :goodvibes

Still catching up.

Morning People. First load of laundry is in. I haven't exercised yet. Couldn't sleep well last night, so I clung to the mattress whimpering when Brad tried to drag me out. Why do I do that? I can't really get back to sleep. I just lie there wishing I could sleep more. Then I'm cranky and dragging for the rest of the day.

There is your heads up that you may want to avoid me. I think I've got PMS working on me too.

You know, I read somewhere that when women live together, over time they begin to "match cycles". Have we been hanging out here together too much?

no one needs a passport to get to Eastern nowhere, USA, well not yet anyway. after thursday you will.

the test showed something glowing with the heel /ankle. of course the hospital could not say anything. I wont know until thursday if it is the plauge, , kryptonite overdose, stress fracture, ligament damage, pms syndrome, broken, to be amputated, ringworm, scurvy, or even any or all of the above.
hobbling around is not fun. twice in 9 months is doubly not fun.

Okay, well... I'm hoping it is not plague, ringworm, scurvy, or requiring amputation... but the kryptonite would be kinda cool. ;)

Let us know something when you know something.

Congrats to Matthew Rose :cheer2:

I read this and thought, "Who is Matthew Rose?"

I told you I am dragging today.

Here's my cake story. . . we went to WalMart because I forgot to order a cake.

Oh, geez! :lmao:

If I had a dollar for everytime I've had to remind myself that I am not in the third grade, I'd be a weathly woman. Wouldn't it be great if we COULD still stick our tongue out at people when they are acting stupid? I know I would feel better.

I have never known a bakery department to NOT add a message to a prepared cake for free... or a few extra touches. It's not like you were asking them to add a decorating kit to it or anything.

1600

(yay me!!!!)

:cool1: Another landmark! We've hit a few here lately. Yay Tracie! :cheer2:

I should look into that a night out sounds good our anniversary is on Friday and we could use that night out :lovestruc .

Still no snow here but DH doesn't really want it anyway on the other hand the kids are looking for a blizzard.:rolleyes1

That's what we did for our anniversary this year. We just left the boys with Grandpa & Grandma and spent the night at a hotel.

Did you get your snow day?

Good news for Joshua AND Carol....how was your visit? Keep us posted on her visit this week.... Seems her surgery was a good idea....seems 'better' there now..... Was it a good choice she made?

You know, it was really scary when she had to be rushed in for the surgery. Really scary. And we are still holding our breath until they can do all those post-surgical scans and tests to tell us that, yes, they are absolutely certain that they removed all the cancer from her body. BUT, all things considered? She'd still be in chemo hell now... she'd still have the questions and surgery looming out there in the uncertain future... I gotta say, it looks like this was absolutely the best path for her.

Kewl site! :thumbsup2 I would love to be able to travel the states in one of those...they are so homey and cozy looking....nothing like when I was little! Someday I hope to be able to ride in one :rolleyes1 Oh, and I was going to "Contact Us" at the site, but thought Brad might get it and be confused :rotfl: ....so, I didn't.

That contact does go to Brad's email. His work email, which I try to remember to check a couple of times a week because sometimes he forgets completely. Hellloooo? What's the point of the website if we aren't going to make contact with these people? :headache:

We are gonna have to lock you out of the CB before you hurt someone.... :rolleyes1

Maybe. :p

Congrats with the clean up - I am working on the basement and Mt. Laundry :scared1:

Laundry. Dammit. I've gotta go shuffle mine around again.

How is it that if I try to do laundry every day, we don't *quite* have a full load... but if I skip a day, we suddenly have 3 or 4 loads. How does that work? :confused3

Over 18 :scared1: We are right there with ya cause the DW won't throw away anything so thats about 16 years of junk and the bad thing is it gets worse everytime we get ready to move:lmao: :scared:

Your wife and my husband sound the same. Brad won't throw anything away. I think it was beaten into his head as a young'un and he just can't overcome it.

Yup your DW sounds like me a little , I love to keep stuff but mostly stuff I will never need or use again . We no longer can have any more childern .... (by choice..:lmao: ) together ,Yet I still have a maternity dress that I just feel someone is going to need or use . What the hell am I thinking .:confused3 I was also thinking of selling it on e-bay but I still havent gotten around to it . Maybe this weekend will be a good time to get rid of it .

One of the many boxes (or garbage bags, I don't remember) in our basement is my maternity clothes.

Why? I don't know. :confused3

not that we are moving anytime in the near future, but you would have thought we learned our lesson with the piles of "stuff" we threw out two and a half years ago when we moved from the house we were in for 10 years......of course not, we now have three times the storage space :lmao:

We bought this house in April, 2005. We moved stuff very slowly from next door to here for TWO MONTHS before we finally moved in to this house Memorial Day. There was still crap sitting in the house next door. I'd think of something I needed and run over there to get it, stuff like that. Finally, when Carol & Deb needed somewhere to go, we were forced to make a clean sweep of everything that was left in the old place. That was in October, 2005. That last quick grab of stuff got dumped in the basement. Over 2 years later, it is still sitting in the same spot. :rolleyes1

Regarding Jodie and the Beans.....do your Beans accept bribes? :rolleyes1

I think we have a sitcom in the making! "Jodie and the Beans"

Yeah, I didn't even think about that as we took the pics. Afterwards, looking at them it did occur to me. Not great planning! I said he same thing about the weather! GF showed up in her "half naked" dress, wearing, of all things, the purple ski jacket she wore with us (skiing) over it. DS was wearing a nice wool long overcoat, which of course he then let her wear so he was the one freezing in his dress shirt!

Oh, and they're all GF's friends. One of the boys he knew and couldn't stand, and the other 2 were dates that he didn't even know. Definitely her side of the family!

I think when you are young enough, fashion takes precedence over comfort. You should have seen what some of the girls at Idiot Nephew's wedding were wearing. Now, mind you, it wasn't Green Bay in January... it was Nashville... but still.

I like the picture of GF and her best friend. Are they the lifelong friends? Like they've know each other since first grade or whatever?

My best friend, besides Brad, is someone I've known since band camp 1979.

<insert American Pie band camp related jokes here>

What, am I the last one up AGAIN? What's up with this? Hello, anyone, anyone? Bueller, Bueller? :rotfl:

Now I want to see Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

it is now monday........just think, after the work day is over today, only 4 more days till the weekend..!!!

yeaaaaaaaa :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Ummm... Yay? :rotfl:

Good Monday morning ya''ll!

:scared1: Thanks, I think.

So, will the "rebate" count as income in 2008? Or will it just count as a lein against what we would normally pay April, 2009?

Or should I just shut up? :rolleyes1

So, that means you haven't cleaned your fridge since May, 2005?

Suddenly, I'm reminded of a bit that Elayne Boosler used to do in her standup routine. She was cleaning out her fridge, a rare thing, and ran across a lime. "A lime? When did I buy a lime? I don't use limes. I don't eat limes." That's when she realized that it wasn't a lime. At one point, it had been a head of lettuce. :lmao:

you have all read my sig

WHOSE HOUSE AM I DOING FIRST>?????

I think we should add no talking about the rebate
here.

I will shut up now.

I also dragged myself out of bed this morning.

I could not believe it was morning when the alarm clock went off.

My throat feels like its on fire.
I wish I could eat popsicles while I'm working. :sad1:

You need to send your resume to my workplace. Not only do people eat popsicles, they have five course dinners at their cubicle desk!

Hi Fred -

Is that good or bad?

Depends on how stinky the food they are eating is I guess?!?
I brought yogurt for lunch. Whoopie...

Speaking of lunch, it's 12:34, I'm late for lunch!

Hey, Janet, don't be messing around with pneumonia! How are you feeling today?

FUG (Fat Ugly George Clooney) is in the hospital with pneumonia as we speak. (FUG as in my vile co-worker). Mike had to go in early to cover his shift for him.

Tricia, I know exactly what you mean about lying in bed hoping to go back to sleep and just getting frustrated. I hope your day goes better than your evening of rest! You know, I did clean up my fridge since 2005 -- but I tend to overlook mayo because we never use it. Someone brought it over, forgot it, and then I left it there. I guess I always left it thinking someone might need it, and I clearly lost track of the time on that! Can you imagine me trying to give someone mayo that expired in 2005? Explains why people always bring their own to my house.

Penny, I hope I didn't offend you asking about the rebate. It was more a point of clarification on what the deal was. I didn't know it was controversial but I can use PMs if the rebate offends you.

I think Jodie & The Beans was done sort of in Party of Five. Except I'm a girl and not nearly as pretty as Charlie was hot.....

Sharon, go ahead and eat Popsicles at work if your throat is hurting! Or run out and suck on an icicle in your neck of the woods!

Fred, where do you work where people eat 5 course meals in their cubes?!

We have a "no fish in the microwave" rule at work that the International faction always ignores. Sometimes it stinks to high heaven.

OOooo... OOooo... pick me! PICK ME! :hyper:

Awwww... so it's not better yet... and you have to work. I wish I could make it all better.

You need to send your resume to my workplace. Not only do people eat popsicles, they have five course dinners at their cubicle desk!

I don't think I've ever had a five course dinner. Anywhere. Let alone at work.

I think we should add no talking about the rebate here.

:confused3 Why not? I like the fact that Jennifer is helping us figure out what it will actually mean. We aren't debating whether it is a good thing or a bad thing or what it will mean to the country in the long run. We're just trying to understand what the heck it really is. :confused3

It's almost time to go pick up Joshua. Daniel has been in a mood today (and not a particularly fun one), so maybe having big brother home will help. :headache:

We moved in to ours in July of 01. We moved boxes that were packed and put into a storage building to make it easier to keep the house clean. Those same boxes are sitting in the corner of our garage. I don't think we need any of that crap. Do you?

Oh what a nasty smell. I do not allow fish or deer meat to be cooked in my house. If they want it they have to do it outside.

I also dragged myself out of bed this morning.

I could not believe it was morning when the alarm clock went off.
