I'm back in Liverpool on Monday...dumping my suitcase and heading to the pub!! Out on Wed for Halloween as a vampire then out on Sat for my friends bfs birthday night out! Quite excited about it all!

i had everything in my pockets today so i could ride the coasters...

I know what ya mean about wanting to ride coasters without worrying about stuff...DH has one of those really small cameras (6/10 of and inch thick) that he can put in a holder that attaches to his belt and when we went to the closeby park (Magic Springs, which I would not buy tickets for because it's really kinda rinky dink, we went because I won them), we just took the small camera so I didn't have to lug around a camera bag. Gotta love hands free!

Hi all-
Went to Mendota, Il. today(hour and a half drive each way) with DH for a family conference about DH's father.
Got back about close to 6:30pm. My mom was waiting to drop off the kids as soon as we got home. Actually the conference was really a workshop that a nurse taught, for about almost 4 hrs. It was about dementia and alzheimers, as that is what FIL has. It was a pretty good workshop! The nurse is from the Alzheimers Association of Illinois. She did most of the talking and we all did some role-playing. Unfortunatley FIL has early to mid-stages of alzheimers, even tho I pretty much knew this already. Other family members( one of my SILs) has a hard time accepting this.
We were supposed to talk about nursing home facilities to put FIL in, but ran out of time. DH's family I think went out to dinner when DH and I had to leave to drive back home.
My mom complained about watching the kids most of the day. The kids were good with her, just my mom complains alot. Nothing new with that.

Didn't want you to think i was ignoring you Rose, but we posted the same time! Dementia/alzheimers is a tough deal...my Grandmom had it in the early 90's very badly....before they really tested much for it and had meds to slow it down. It was heartbreaking to watch her suffer like she did and i prayed she go to heaven. (Eventually she did).... It's a good thing the whole family is on this because you're gonna need each other...it's not an easy road!

Well...i'm off to bed tonite....hope everyone had a good Saturday (& Tricia is gettin' lucky ) ......hope everyone has a good Sunday!! (git my bak!)

Sorry to hear about your grandmom I'm sure it must have been difficult for you to see your grandmom like that.
I'm doing pretty well with this, as I have worked with people w/ alzheimers, the late stages of it, on alzheimers units when I worked as an RN(before kids).
Never had to deal with it with someone I really knew before until now. At least I can try to be a good support for my DH, as I'm guessing it's going to be hard for him.

Barb - the bad trip thread was the complaint about HHN because it rained. You already responded to them.

I thought this was interesting. About 3 weeks ago, someone posted on the Disney boards they had a terrible time at Mickey's Halloween Party because it rained. The parade and fireworks were cancelled and some of the rides were shut down. She wanted a refund.

We went to Universal in June 2006 and it rained on us the first 3 days we were there. It changed our plans - but we still had a great time. You can't control the weather - so go with the flow!!!

i know it is hard being around a relative that is fading in the mind. it is really tough. have the same situation in my family. some days are good and some could be better.

and for alison, she must have given birth to the child she is with at the age of 12 as she sure doesn't look much over 23.....

Morning Homies!!!

Had alot of rain (like Barb) but it is sunny and chilly today. No running around necessary today, just hanging out and watching football, doing dishes (you heard correctly, I do not have a dishwasher ) and catching up on some laundry. Missed the Exacta by 1 horse, we had two different bets and could have kicked ourselves that we mismatched the numbers - oh well, we are still up for the year

Fbean has a game tomorrow night, against a that team that was cheating with the clock in our last two meetings It could get ugly if they do it again.....Once was enough, but twice? C'mon. Will let you all know how THAT works out.

Week 8 action:

Good Sunday morning everyone!!!! Dunno why, but good mood today & lots of ambition.... (let's see just how much i can accomplish today )

So, Alison & Tim are "sleepin in"....due to extra "adult drinks" last nite you go girl....take a nap today I'm glad your hair is still light brown...when people say "lighter" i automatically think "blonde"...you wouldn't look good real blonde...light brown is the perfect color for you....love the color & the length! Glad to hear Tim is up for "quiky" next summer Hope the boys will be "into" it. We'll haveta do somethin fun Guessin' no housework gonna get done at the T&A house today

Jennifer...thanks for clearing up the bad trip thread... i was having blonde moment again! I can't believe people complain about being rained out at the parks If you read the DIS (which, duh, of course they do!), you know to go to the dollar store and buy your poncho and go with it. Yea, it sux when "outdoor" stuff is cancelled cuz of rain, but instead of groanin' about it, do they forget they should be GRATEFUL they are there in the first place! Granted I can understand the people who scrimp & save and it's a once in a lifetime trip....but, Disney is big enuf--find something else to do.....

Mac...have a fun day today!! Glad to see you are all about the FUN since you got home from Florida! I am not swimming or boating today...sun is out and should be for next week!!! Now it's just getting cold And I mean like oil heat is on and frost warnings....(probably like Mac & Marcie are gettin' now)... did i mention i HATE the cold No soccer today....just laundry & grocery store... Going to do some more vacation planning too (always fun!!) I have a short work week...only 5 days this week (off Sat. for Bubba's game)..... Hard to believe Halloween is THIS week, eh?? Where does the time go?

I forgot to mention a cute story from my son...... I have already started the Christmas/Santa shoppin' (yes, Bubba will be 9 in Jan. and he still believes ) so, I ask him if he's started his list for Santa yet. He tells me that he is going to give it to him on Christmas Eve Told him Santa already leaves North Pole...it'll be too late. So, he says: Weeelll, okaaayyy....then, I'll give it to him the weekend before Christmas! Uh....no....that won't work! Told him he better git movin' and get his order in early before the other kids beat him to it. Think it worked? I don't....he's playin computer game w/ his Dad Might be a 'lame' Christmas this year Bubba.... (Guess I'll haveta work on him today....Big Toys R Us book is in paper today.....just wish he was still "into" toys...be SO much easier )

Good morning all!

Barb- The Bubba story is very cute! Chrissy is already talking about wanting to make her wish list to Santa- haven't done it yet, tho. Have you been on the website www.northpole.com? When you get on that page, you click mailroom on top of page. Then the child can check off from a list of things, what they want for Christmas and also they can type up a list, too. They also have some games on the website to play. Might make it more fun for Bubba and other kids. I know what you mean about no toys. Both Chrissy and Matthew want game cube games, Ninetendo DS games, etc. We don't have a Wii system, but I know we won't be able to afford one this yr, so used game cube games may be better for our budget.

Tracie- hope it stops raining by you. Hope Fbean has a good game tomorrow!

Forgot to mention, DH had an interview yesterday morning with a recruiter at 8 am, near our house. Recruiter seems to think DH may be a good fit for the job. DH is supposed to have an interview with this company's controller on Tues afternoon. DH has to make up an excuse to get out of his temp job early. I guess we'll see what happens....
Too much drama going on, with the job situation, FIL, my dad, etc.
I'm hoping all goes well with this interview on Tues, as this other co. is closer and has very good benefits, and possibly more money. Guess we'll see where God puts DH, as of the job situation.


Oh, thought I throw a question out there. What are your kids going to be for Halloween? Doing very cheap, uh I mean very inexpensive costumes this yr.
Dressing Chrissy and Matthew up as a patriotic girl and boy. Bought these red, white, and blue top hats at a party store a month ago. They will wear the hats and I have these red, white, and blue necklaces we got at our town festival 2 months ago. And I have these very small flags they can carry with them at school. THat's it for our costumes this yr. Can't afford the $20 to $25 a piece costumes this yr. This is alot simpler for them to put on this yr anyways, which makes it easier on me We have the Hallloween parade at school on Wed. afternoon, then the class parties after that.

If the Sox win, the curse will be permanently abolished.
If the Rocks win, this will be their first WS win ever.

Meanwhile, my dad is like this: (Sox fan) and Ad is like this: (Rocks fan). Me?

OMG, watched the game last night. I normally don't, but I went to school in CO, and was rooting for the Rockies. Holliday put them so close; then they blew it. Sad. Thought the altitude would've affected the Sox a bit more. Bummer. I always root for the underdogs. Can't exactly call the Sox underdogs as of the past few years though.

Rose, sorry to hear about your FIL. My grandmother had Organic Brain Syndrome. Not sure how that's different from Alzheimer's, but the symptoms are the same, so I feel your pain. It's a tough thing.

Tracie, have fun relaxing, and get yourself a dishwasher! I cannot even imagine our house if we didn't have one.

It's cold today here. We were going to go for a walk, but I don't think we're up to bundling up. We had dinner with my parents last night. They live a mile away from Mike and me, and sadly, we don't get to see them much due to our messed up schedules.
