We made it to the airport, traffic getting to Philly was HORRIBLE!!! When we checked our bags, we were told we are under an advisory with the possibility of a delay because of the pending storms here in PA. Now they are announcing that our plane is just landing that should have been here 15 minutes ago, so we might be a little delayed. No sweat, I've waited a year, I can wait 15 extra minutes! I'll check back later, maybe then I'll start an official ongoing trip report.

The tag fairy hangs out on the boards and will grab random quotes from your posts and put them in pretty colors under your user name. I got my first take (the line about "Elmer") just a month or two ago.

Lynne - that's the deal with the tag fairy, who is apparently some secret person that goes around reading what people post and then adds appropriate "tags" under their names in color. Evidently it's a big honor to get one, which I've managed to avoid for nearly 8 years here! You can add your own tag, but it will be in black as you discovered.

Okay, these pics are for Janet, but the rest of you seem to like pics, so hey, it's something to look at (and maybe to convince you to do a cruise - although NOT during hurricane season! - if you haven't!). Tricia - I tried to find our pics of the pool from that day, but they were on a disposable camera and evidently never got put on the computer.

Marcie, great cruise pics! We'd like to try Princess. Wanted to take my folks since they both turn 60 next year ...

Wanted to, but someone named FUG chose the week we wanted for his stupid ham radio convention. Speaking of FUG, got stuck working with him, and true to form, he went out to dinner in time to watch Jeopardy! every night. Plus, I had to act as an answering machine for his annoying girlfriend. I am FUG-free tonight though!

It is not quite rainy here, but definitely unpleasant and overcast and damp.

Mike, I hope the weather isn't holding up your plane! In the future, give us your flight number so we can track it and make sure you get there safely. Vacation stalking is part of this thread. You should know that!

Incredibly, yes I am! Thanks so much for asking

My colds usually last for about a week, but this one started Wednesday night and it's now much better, which is great!

I used this First Defence stuff. I don't know if you can get it in the USA, but it's made by Vicks. You're supposed to use it at the first sign of a cold and keep using it for a couple of days (you have to put it up your nose...lovely!! ) I must have caught it in time as it appears to be retreating already

I'm going to stay on the Night and Day Nurse until I leave on Sunday morning, though, and keep taking the Vit C tablets and lots of OJ to make sure it's got no chance of coming back.

Just doing some packing and washing in preparation for the big day. We're off to NY first for 3 nights, then flying down to Florida for 11 nights. I was so annoyed when that cold came on! I've never been to New York before, so I'm really excited about the whole trip

...and Marci, I'm sooo glad you didn't mean Orlando

I just checked the 10-day weather forecast and there would appear to be lots of thunderstorms next week. In all the times I've been to Orlando I've seen it rain twice. I've spent about 6 weeks there in total. Saw it rain once in May and once in October. Maybe we're due a rainy holiday

Tricia, how is Carol doing at home?

I just got back from a quick visit next door. She is doing okay. Weak, tired, all that stuff... but generally okay. She is very emotional and in need of family contact, so I made sure that everyone knew they needed to give her a call. She is eating. Not a lot, but anything is good at this point. Really, she just seems to want to get on with the next round so she can get it all behind her. The waiting and knowing it's going to get worse before it gets better is awful. I don't know what else to do for her, but she could really use some cheering up.
