Hi Jennifer! I  the Steelers, had a crush on Terry in my youth lol. Oldest DS is coach of Pittsburgh's semi pro team - Pittsburgh RiverRats (AIFL); play in Rochester, PA; we're big on football in my family. He & middle son coach a HS team too. We still have the Iron City Beer Cans proudly displayed in our den from the 70's along with tons of other "stuff" from training camp. Wonder if I list our signed Kordell Stewart helmet it'd get a bite on eBay :rotfl:

My middle DS had a few friends who went to WVU...i always held my breath when he went down for the weekend/game.:rolleyes1 beautiful country down your way! We were going to try & drive down to the gorge area further south from you (where the big bridge is that they bungee jump off) to see the change in leaves this year, from what i read the leaves may not turn until November this year due to the weird weather & even then not be as vibrant.

time for dancing with the stars...it's been a bit of a snooze. Shall tape Chuck & heros to watch with DH...anyone watching them?

Penny - Know what you mean about those bags of candy. Can't have it in the house or it disappears!

Akdar - Man is it ever getting close. ARe you guys packed yet?

Katie - Hope you are feeling good today and that he is wrong about the fourth root canal.

Loved the pumpkin & so did Ally!

Tricia - Don't worry about falling behind in the chatting. I hope Carol starts feeling better soon. Did her treatment go okay today? :grouphug: Remember we are here for you for whatever you need.

Glad you had a decent time at the baby sower. I have never been to one that served any type of alcohol or food (other than cake) for that matter!

Glad you were able to sell the tickets. How many races do you go to in a year normally?

Why is Joshua out of school? Mine go tomorrow and then it is fall break time and they are out the rest of the week. We are going to do some major cleaning around here the rest of the week.

Janet - Glad you are out of the real estate business and not having to dea with the slum lords anymore.

Hope you have lots more great weather. I am kinda looking forward to it cooling off here. Our nights are getting in to the 50's but the days are still getting up near 90. Also had a big storm last night and have now broken our all time record for yearly rain fall by more than an inch and it is only October. Baseball games & soccer both cancelled today because of all the water. Well, at least I didn't have to venture out tonight!!!

What the heck is going on with the signatures? I hope you are able to keep your Riverrats pic. Thanks for the heads up!

We are watching Dancing With the Stars, Mikey really likes Chuck, I like Heros but don't get a chance to watch it much.

wwessing - Good to see you again! Stop in more often to visit.

Marcie - Just wanted to say hi. Hope the job is going good.

Tracie - Where is that video????:rolleyes1

Barb - Actually my sister went out the evening before and stayed until 2:30 in the morning packng up her crap. The house looks much different now. We are now going through old records & making copies of things she wasn't smart enough to get out of the house ahead of time. We have actually found another ex-husband that none of us knew about. Her medical records are laughable. Let's just say she will regret the day she messed with my daddy!

As for the sports, she is my 4th so I am completely used to all the crap that goes on with it. She knows that behavior is not acceptable and dh will not coach that way so at least one of the teams will be taught the proper way to play bball.

I totally agree we need names for mslclark & cbdmhgp. I have to go back and look them up to respond to them.:rotfl: But I can remember goofy!

Ya know what you said about the team Bubba played, well that :lmao: is Ally's soccer team. Totally disorganed. Gotta feel bad for poor Robbie though.

Sounds like you had another action packed weekend. I forgot to mention while I was helping out my buddy, you know when I was awol, I saw a couple of those Opie & Anthony shirts way down here in Oklahoma.

DM - Glad you & Ad had a great weekend, sorry it was so short. Long disstance relationships stink.:sad1:

Jodie - Hope you are feeling better this evening. When do you have to go back to work?

Well that caught me up unless there have been a lot of posts since I started this an hour ago!!!

Allison where are you????

Gemma, Mac & Rose hope all is well in your worlds.

So here's whats going on in my world - Michael will be 16 on Friday!:scared1: :scared1: Gotta go take his driving test Friday morning.

Got a letter from the school last week. Seems Ally has tested in the top 97% of third graders & they want her to take G/T classes. Unfortunately G/T here consists of meeting with a different teacher one day a week. I have also heard that their regular teachers don't care to much for the kids leaving the regular classroom and can take it out on the kids. Guess I will discuss it with her teacher tomorrow night during conference.

Well that is it around here. Hope everyone is doing great.

Hi All - not much time (doesn't that always seem to be the case?), but I'm always reading along. Wait, isn't that called lurking?!

Thanks for the hi, Lori. The job is going okay. Now they've decided they need me to come in an hour earlier each day (but still stay until 4:30) which is cutting into my DIS time! I was hoping to shift it an hour earlier, but to leave an hour earlier in the afternoon, but thus is not to be right now!

And Jennifer, just wanted to say:

(I found a new welcome smiley - aren't you impressed?)

DM - so what bubbly did you buy? :drinking:
An asti. I don't remember the specific name, but it was good. Between the two of us, we had one glass worth.

DM - Glad you & Ad had a great weekend, sorry it was so short. Long distance relationships stink.:sad1:
Yeah, LDRs aren't fun, but people do crazy things for
Suddenly Meatloaf popped into my head...

we all welcome Jennifer.....our newest homie!

i was going to start a trippie for you all today, but today wasn't the best here for me.

i'll try to start it soon.

i bought a ticket to DC and will rent a car and go to willamsburg.

i'll be back later.

happy birthday early to the new 16 year old.

Are you heading anywhere in particular Mac? Hope everything is well!

Lori: Son is getting his permit :scared: Take him to a parking lot and not a parkway like my parents did :rotfl:

do what mom did to me and brothers....
she took us to the cemetary to learn how to drive.
she figured less threat to people as brothers and i had lead feet.

Thanks for the b'day wishes Mac.

Actually the child has had his permit for 6 months, they get them at 15 1/2 here. He will be testing for his drivers license on Friday. We live in the country & on a farm so he has been driving since he was very little. Grandpa used to set him on his lap and let him drive on the farm. He has been driving on our road since he was probably 12 or so. It is a dead end road with only two other houses on it, all the rest of the land around us is wheat fields. I am more comfortable with this one driving then I was with his older brother & sister. In fact he is probably more responsible then they are still at 24 & 22!

Have a great getway Mac. Can't wait to here all about it.

Night everyone!

YO!! Catch up tomorrow..... :guilty:

Hi all-
Thank you all for your thoughts and well wishes for my dad. It means alot to me :goodvibes

K-fish- hope you are not in much pain- teeth pain.

I'm really tired right now, so can't address everyone.
I do think of all of you!

Mac- are you really going away this weekend? :rolleyes1

Hi to all the new homies!

Hi to all!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome(s).

Lori - just needed to say - you referred to your "stepmonster" :lmao: - did you get that word from St. Elmos' Fire? That's the only other time I had heard that!

Looks like I get to stay home today - son is sick - just the usual cold/sore throat. I had to pick him from school yesterday. We spent almost 2 hours in the "fast track" doctor's office to get an antibiotic. Good thing we weren't in the "slow track" office.

Oh well, I brought home some work to keep me entertained.

Hope everyone has a nice day.:)

Morning homies!!

Welcome Jennifer!! Pull up a chair and yak it up. Don't be shy!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Fbean's team tied last night. 25-25, that makes them 3-2-1. The other team cheated a bit (like letting the clock run when we clearly called time out TWICE - that was just the tip of the iceburg) But our guys fought back and got the final TD to tie up the game. We have another game against them on the 30th....our coaches will keep their eyes WIDE open next time. Three games (possibly 4) left. No dance video last night (he did it twice), too dark on the field - have to wait for a day game.

Family Disney trip is on hold until the spring - DH wants to go away for our 10th anniversary (its 10/25) but I can't get him to nail down a date due to work. Who knows where we will end up going :rolleyes1 (I have an idea....;) )

Hugs to all who need them and continued prayers/positive thoughts for those in need. I need to go read over yesterday to see if I can be more personal with my post!!

mac - I hope you are ok.....you know how to reach me if need be

be back in a bit

Hey everyone, just a quick flyby. I will reply to you all individually later on. Wow you guys do half yak!! 3 pages in 24 hours....Gema is impressed!!

Was out last night again!! Was very very very drunk!! Worse than I've been for a long time. Was out the the lads from across the road again.....feel sorry for them being stuck with me! Was drinking (you ready for this?) Malibu and coke, woowoo cocktail, wine, vodka lime and lemonade, pear cider, normal cider, tequila and apple sourz. Now, imagine even more that I had each drink about 3 times and must have had about 8 shots!! AND the bouncer even bought me a drink! Quite sweet really. Woke up this morning with bruises all over me, in agony. Who knows where I fell!! Oh CRAP! I remember!! I was on the dance floor and full on slid across and fell over and just lay there in complete and utter embarrassment!! Not good!

Just another welcome to Jennifer- Hi Jennifer!! You'll get to know us all soon! We are nice people! Keep dropping by and let us know your gossip!

good morning

stacie -just noticed your j. depp tag...i sooo jealous:) said it before & i'll say it again...capt jack is hot:love: . Romance springs eternal & the spring is a good time for any trip! give us a hint where you are setting forth!

mac - another trip? happy trails, williamsburg has lots of options.

barb - did 'ya check out the siggie help thread yet?

marci - you must be good, work wants more of you:thumbsup2 .

kfed - the teeth hanging in there? Meant to ask, do you do anything special to help your pumpkin last. We usually don't carve them until a day or so before halloween since they get yucky fast. Did rip out some ideas for preserving them longer yesterday from magazine (concoctions of bleach & couple other options)?

lori - i stay out of the driving ed for my DSs...delegated it to DH.:rolleyes1 my nerves cannot take it. Oldest DS went thru G program, we withdrew middle DS in Jr. High = wasn't a good fit, too much thrown @ him & he became overwhelmed & basically gave up. I insisted the youngest only participate in select activities/classes/field trips; seems to working out well; even though the school isn't happy. (if i hear one more time that he'll "fall behind the pack" if he doesn't take Trig along with Algebra II in 9th grade I'll scream:mad: sure i'll hear it again @ parent/teacher conference on thursday)

DM - Glad to see new generations appreciating meatloaf.

Todd - fellow HM geek, look what i finally won on eBay
d061_1.JPG
hee-hee; now i've got to sell some more junk to pay for it.

Middle DS works his 1st solo ::cop: gig this weekend; the idea hasn't grown on me yet and I don't think i'll ever be comfortable with it; can't keep them in bubble wrap forever i suppose.:sad2:

Good morning!

I know I haven't been addressing everyone personally for the past week or so and I will grovel at your collective feet and ask for forgiveness.

Joshua is home from school again today for "Student Holidays". No rhyme or reason, just time to take a day off I guess. I had my parent teacher conference and Joshua's Kindergarten teacher wants to recommend him for the gifted program next year. I have LOTS of questions about what that means. The last thing Joshua wants at this point in his life is to feel different. I'm torn between that not wanting to hold him back thing and that not wanting to push him thing. It's never easy is it?

Carol is in the hospital. They transported her Sunday because she couldn't control the vomiting with the meds they sent her home with. She is stable and as comfortable as possible at this point. I think they plan to release her tomorrow.

Who said they were watching Dancing with the Stars? Janet? Did you see it last night with Carrie Anne playing the "lift police"? I thought she and Jane Seymour were going to get into a throwdown over the whole was-her-heel-on-the-floor stuff. Most excitement I've seen this season!
