Janet - Been there. Done that. Don't get me started on clothes and DH. It is NOT a happy topic around here. ;)

Marcie - Glad you got connected again and it's always good to see pics. :thumbsup2

Gemma - Good to see you on again. Did you get your own internet set up?

Barb - Depending on how late you return, I may miss you today. Hope you're having a good work day and Bubba enjoys his soccer.

WOULD THEY STOP SCRAMBLING THE FLIPPIN SMILEYS??!!!??!!!

Thanks everyone. :grouphug: :grouphug:

I know some of my other friends are taking it much harder as they were closer to her than I was, but still.

Tiffany's ex bf (the killer) is in jail and he deserves to rot in prison for the remainder of his days.

********************************
Moving now to happy news: I will be getting a very special visitor in a couple of weeks. She'll be here just for the weekend, but still.

DM - just wanted to say that I am thinking about you & your friends family. I agree the ex boyfriend needs to rot.

Hey everyone I will be awol for the next few days, then again next Tuesday - Friday. I will check back in as much as possible Sat/Sun. Everyone stay safe & have a fabulous rest of the week & weekend.

That's right, DM. It QUALITY of time; not QUANTITY of time that counts. Enjoy your weekend!

Good morning, everyone. Hope everyone woke up to a GREAT day.

Gemma - Yes, nice of those perfect strangers who don't know you're using their internet to share with you. ;)

Katie - Looking forward to the TR and I hope your swim team kicks butt. Do swim teams kick butt? :scratchin

DM - I know something of what you mean. A friend of mine was murdered in 1999. She was really a friend of a friend, but by group association I knew her well enough. It was really bizarre when all the details of the case unfolded. What gets me is that now, years later, he has people creating websites strictly for the purpose of getting him freed from jail. It's a sick world. It's bad enough the creep is going to get parole in a few years. Yep, he was convicted and sentenced to Life + 20 Years. In Georgia that means that he is elligible for parole in 14 years. He can walk free in 2013. Go figure.

Anyway, glad to hear that you are getting "company" and have something to look forward to. :woohoo:

Lori - Have fun doing whatever it is you'll be doing to keep you away from us for days and days. :)

Mornin'

Joshua started working on me yesterday morning on the way to school. "Mommy, did you know that it's Johnny Appleseed's birthday? Shouldn't we have a cake or something?"

I don't bake desserts very often. Brownies, cookies, stuff like that, sometimes, but as a rule we only do a homemade dessert for a special reason. Okay, he's stretching it to come up with a reason for me to bake, but I told him, "We'll see."

I wound up making an apple pie yesterday afternoon. It seemed appropriate. I had already planned dinner, which was sausage with red beans & rice. I don't even want to know what my calorie intake was last night. :rolleyes1

I have to take Joshua for his Varicella vaccine and flu shot after school today. Won't that be fun? He's going on his first school field trip tomorrow, so I just hope he doesn't have any reactions. He never has before, even as a baby, but still...

Our dog has really bad gas this morning. I think my nose hairs are starting fry. I'm beginning to think that maybe Brad fed her some leftovers from last nights dinner. :crazy2:

So, that's about all the excitement from around here for the moment.

Thanks everyone. :grouphug: :grouphug:

despite being roman catholic; i'm more of an eye for an eye sorta gal on punishment.

imo, at the very least, eventually there is a very dark place reserved for him.

a sim. tragedy happened across the river from our town. HS cheerleader stabbed hundreds of times by ex-boyfriend at her house. She managed to get out & into the front common area and yell - identifing the killer.

His scum ball lawyer is already on the news, setting up a lame defense that the kids acne medicine mad him do it.:confused3 How that equals temporary insanity is beyond me.

Sad sad world.

Katie- thanks for the pic- I enjoyed it! lol

Im out tonight for a friends 21st so I won't be online, not that I've been on much anyway! lol. But I may try when I'm drunk. Ohh and don't worry, I won't end up on my own- Ill have people loking after me

Back to report on hair, :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 for color & cut (i went way shorter & layered - big hair is back:banana: ) shall post a pic when i upload.

Confirmation went swell, no-longer-butthead son gifted his bro with a very generous gift of cash:thumbsup2 . Ceremony very long, yet one of the better I've seen - bishop was cracking jokes.

Place DS picked out for dinner was such a surprise. Owner rehabed an old, dive bar, the food was excellent & I thought very reasonable. For less than $84 dollars the four of us had:

sodas
2 appetizers (6 chicken strips & 3 crab cakes)
4 dinners (8 oz filet, steak burger, chicken milanese, shrimp scampi)
either salad or soup &
pasta or potato

i owe oldest DS/wife a dinner for being "stand-bys" for confirmation; think we'll hit up the same jointpopcorn::

Gemma - :woohoo: party on the patio:banana: do your homework 1st;)

Gemma - It's always good to have a friend you can trust when you're out drinking. One of my favorite stories about an old and dear friend of mine is this...
We went out as a group to celebrate one of our friends 30th birthday. Leta, my dearest of friends, and I got quite drunk. There were a couple of guys hitting on us, but there was one in particular that wouldn't leave Leta alone. Before last call, I had the bartender call us a cab. This guy was still trying to convince Leta to go with him. He'd give us a ride home, save on cab fare, etc. Yeah, right. Anyway, Leta's parting words to him were, "I have to go with HER (pointing at me). She loves me... and she has my purse."

Janet - :cool1: Yay for a good haircut! Makes all the difference in the world, doesn't it? :yay:

I should do something with mine. I haven't had it cut or styled or anything in months. I haven't even been doing my usual color. Sigh. Someday.

I'm glad the confirmation went well. Makes all the drama worth it... or does it? ;)

Hey all....flyin' by and just caught up on thread...I have a LOT to comment on, but no time as I need to fix dinner cuz karate class is at 6.....

Yes, or you could send personalized love notes to mac, which I would be happy to pass on to her personally. Just PM me that you want to send something, and I'll give you my address. I'll see that she gets it as we see each other on Sunday.

Janet, can't wait for pics of the new do! Glad confirmation went well.

And, Gemma, yes, darling it is so important to have one sober friend ... Here is my favorite drunken chaperone story:

In college, I had 3 good buddies: Katherine, Lori, and Jen. We went to school in Connecticut, but would take the train into the city when a bar had "college ID special night." So, they didn't care we weren't 21. We each took turns staying sober to make sure everyone got home OK. Here is the story of my turn:

We had to leave right before last call to catch the train back into CT. So, after a night of $1.50 kamikaze shots and $1 bottles of domestic beers (yes, I went to school a long time ago), I had to herd the girls to the train station. Of course this night out was very popular, and other people from school went too. So, we get on the train safely, and I'm just keeping my eye on things, not wanting to be a terrible mother hen, but wanting to make sure no one would do anything she'd regret in the morning. Everything was fine for awhile. Then a boy who I only remember as "Cowboy" sat next to Katherine. Cowboy was a nice enough guy, but certainly not hook-up worthy. So, I kept an eye on Cowboy.

Jen became restless and started wandering the train car. OK, keeping an eye on her.

Then Lori told me she was going to the bathroom. Fine.

Then the perfect storm happened: Cowboy moved in a for a kiss with Katherine. Jen decided she wanted a poster off the train and moved some poor guy's head out of the way (much the same as a police officer puts his hand on someone's head when he's putting him into a police car) to take down the poster. She steals the poster. And I hear banging on the bathroom door since Lori has somehow managed to lock herself in there and can't get out.

Now I'm scrambling: Cowboy! You! Off of her now! Back 3 rows! Now!

To the Asian man that Jen assaulted: I am very sorry. Jen, take your poster and sit back down.

And, now I was left with trying to tell Lori how to unlatch the bathroom door.

Everyone then fell asleep, and I had to wake them all up at our stop. Successful. Bonus.

I tried to wake up 2 other students I recognized who fell asleep on the train when we came to our stop, but I was unsuccessful and barely made it off the train myself. Wonder where they ended up?

Then, I had to convince my gang that at 3am it probably wasn't the best idea to walk the 3/4 miles back to campus, and we should splurge for a cab. Fun times!

Q: what's worse than snakes on a plane?

T: drunks on a train!:rotfl:

very funnee boozing stories:thumbsup2

truer words never spoken: Cowboy was a nice enough guy, but certainly not hook-up worthy. So, I kept an eye on Cowboy

all you have to do is say kamikaze i think of the smell - after 20 years still makes me queazy...think everyone has a drink they overindulged in and just cannot ever stomach again.

I'm with you DM.

I want to know who Mr BK is... :confused3 :lmao:

I can usually translate some or most of your PUIs Gemma, but this one has me baffled. :rotfl:
