I'm a 1966 baby too. I'm afraid that my children are being left behind their peers as far as music goes. I rocked both babies to sleep singing Beatles tunes (Yesterday is a great song for a lullaby... you can just loop it around over and over until the baby nods off). Joshua still asks for Yellow Submarine sometimes. I'm still convinced that Rubber Soul is one of the best albums, ever.
Of course, then you get the disco influence of my kid-in-the-seventies years... not to mention my older sisters love of Aeorsmith, the Eagles, Led Zepplin, Boston, etc... which was passed on to me since we shared a bedroom. Add my brothers love of beach music and rockabilly... and my oldest sisters love of the soft stuff (Bread, the Carpenters, etc.). Move on to my high school years which added a love of bands like Rush, Journey, Bon Jovi (one of the few hair bands that I embraced)... it all went to form quite an eclectic music taste for myself.
I'm afraid when my boys start playing their own music, I'm going to be lost.
