Hey DM!

congrats on the yard sale. we are planning to do one in late sept. did you price items or have folks make offers?
any suggestions????

p.s. sooooooo, she is coming to see you?????
:goodvibes
A little of both. A lot of things were priced at 25¢. For some reason, the stuffed animals did not sell, but tennis balls and purses sold rapidly.

I had many books available, but very few sold. :confused3 I love looking for books at yard sales.

And yes, she's visiting in Oct.

Good morning all!
Haven't been here for a couple for days, so finally caught up on all the pages!
Had a massive migraine headache all yest . Doing better today!

Tropical depression-Happy belated birthday to you! :bday: :cake: :rockband:
Hope you had an awesome birthday!

Mac- wherever you are, hope you are doing well.
We got some rain here late last night and early this morning. Hope you got much needed rain, too. I saw the big green blobs on the radar early this morning. You weren't at the DVC grand opening thing yest at Woodfield, were you?

Marciemi- enjoyed your surfing shots! You go girl! :woohoo: :cool2:
Enjoyed your TR so far, also!

Bubba's mom- Sounded like you and the fam enjoyed dinner and the car show :thumbsup2 :cool1:

Dark- Congrats on selling stuff at the yard sale!

All the talk about ice cream places; DQ, Cold Stone Creamery, etc. You guys are making me hungry popcorn::
We went to DQ Friday night, DD had a dilley bar, DS had the mint oreo blizzard, I had the peanut buster parfait(my favorite), DH had the brownie explosion. We only go to DQ once in awhile, even tho it's close.
We also have a Cold Stone Creamery about a couple miles away, but I don't go there that much. I only go when they have the free pieces of ice cream cake, for the Make-A-Wish fundraiser thing once a yr. We donate a couple of dollars and then get in line for the free piece of ice cream cake!
We also have an Oberweis Dairy ice cream place close to me (I think only known in the midwest?). I don't think I've been there once at all, as the ice cream is expensive there.
My DD only likes soft serve, so DQ is always good to go to!

Hi to all and anyone I missed

Is it as expensive as it is here? :scared:

the one in Portland is very very expensive...bought a cake for someone once....their ice cream cake was almost 30 dollars......I got one at DQ that was twice the size and only 22.00...:rolleyes1

Morning folks...another scorcher here in FL...how is the weather in your neck of the woods?

.... purses sold rapidly.

:rotfl2: poor DM....he sold all his purses.... :rolleyes1 (...your secret is out DM!)

rose...good to see ya droppin' by!

Mike....i even heard a song they created about the cruisers over the speaker system and the announcer was talking about the 80's when they "cruised" and "fights broke out" and "the police came"..... ...he made it sound like it was SO awful! :sad2: I was one of the "regular" cruisers out there....my boyfriend at the time and I were very well known. Have a lot of good memories from those days....hangin' w/ friends....

Penny....I thought Cold Stone was expensive...i always thought it to be "gourmet" ice cream with those prices :rotfl2: I don't get why so expensive? What's so special about Cold Stone ice cream??? :confused3 And, i'm with you...I'd take the DQ cake over the CS cake anyday :thumbsup2

Alison...do NOT give your DH the option of telling you no pix of food on vacation...tell him YOU are a DISer and it's mandatory/required! ;) If nothing else, take pix of YOUR food and your kids food....if he doesn't want HIS food photographed, let 'em be! (Maybe he'll feel left out)

Another hot and humid day today....but we are supposed to get .5-1" of rain tonight and into tomorrow morning.....maybe the grass won't be brown and crunchy then :rotfl2:

Off to do my thing......chat ya's l8r...:thumbsup2

Have a GREAT day today everyone......

other than to give to your dogs as chew toys, who would spend money on used tennis balls?:rotfl: DM must be a born salesman.

not sure who's celebrating but happy birthday and a very merry unbirthday to the rest of you!

Someone gave me a Cold Stone Creamery GC for Xmas, it's in the pile to be regifted lol. I'm not an ice cream snob, do have a weakness for Friendly's (none in my area of course, seek it out when we travel). Not a fan of the whipped, custardy stuff they sell @ DQ

my DH HATES when i take pics of the food on vacation; thinks it crass...doesn't know it's accepted & encouraged here.;)

Off on a road trip to nearest Burger King (over 50 miles RT:rolleyes1 ); evidently they are hawking Simpsons toys & DS is a-clamoring.

Maybe he will next time if I tell him it's mandatory/required and I don't want to get kicked off the DIS! He's got a pocket sized camera that doesn't call too much attention to us and I have a BIG camera...he might let me use the little one...

If I have to hear Lisa Simpson screaming "We have to save Springfield!" one more time, I'm gonna toss her plastic butt out of the window. :rolleyes1

Thanks for the support.

He has moved on to Apu who now reapeatedly says, "Please, please... I am gouging as fast as I can..."

At our Burger King, the toys are all mixed up. You never know which one you are going to get. There isn't a Toy #1, #2, etc. given out in sequence... you just get whatever they shoved in the bag. I don't know if that is true at all BKs, but it is the way ours always does it. Since we generally all eat off the kids meal menu, we have several of the Simpsons toys. When the boys get them going...

I have Lisa, Maggie, Gold Homer, Barney, Apu, Chief Wiggum (in fact, I have spares of Barney & Chief Wiggum). I don't know how many toys their are. Since the boys are too small to appreciate the humor of the Simpsons (yet), they just think it is fun to have a toy that talks... and talks... and talks...

I should probably get a few of them and stick them in a closet for when they are older and discover the fun and humor of the gang in Springfield.

We wind up at BK quite often... small town... our fast food choices are: Burger King, McDonald's, Dairy Queen, Sonic, and Wendy's just opened last month. With the towns only indoor play area, Burger King gets our business more than anyone. We get to eat while the kids wear themselves out. Win/win.

good morning sunshines:)

1st BK we hit yesterday was out of them:rolleyes1 ; drove 2 exits on the turnpike to next one & found 3 (Marge, Comic Book Guy & Burns)...gotta get 'em all.:upsidedow

Season 10 comes out tomorrow, think we'll do another caravan out past the same BKs;)

the things you do for your kids; not that the youngest really asks...it's just those big eyes staring at you lol.

Hauled the middle child around all am (appts & finally to pick up his car in the body shop - local Sheetz left the lid off where they pump the gas into the tanks & he got stuck in it one night. He had just bought a newer sports car, thought he was going to flip. They paid off quickly:cheer2: ; lucky he didn't get hurt). Seems like it's afternoon already. I dread going back to waking up crack of dawn everyday once skool starts.

We don't start until the 27th, anyone earlier?

Our "meet the teacher" day is tomorrow... school starts Thursday (the 9th).

If you want any of my spare BK toys (still sealed in the bag and everything), just PM me an address. I'd be happy to mail them to you. This collection isn't a big one for my kids, but I know what it's like when it IS a big deal. We ate McDonald's until we were sick when they had the Power Ranger toys.

We start the 6th of Sept.! Teachers go back the 5th and coaches have to go back the 27th....summer is too short!
