metro, i have been hearing about the rain. your area is in need of it but is it pouring more now?
Yes...we still need the rain. The last I heard, the area was still 8 inches or so below normal since last year. I've had rain at my house every night since last Friday. But...that's typical this time of year. Hot and humid followed by t-storms in the afternoon.

I'm trying to convince myself that it is time for bed.

popcorn::

:rolleyes1

Doesn't seem to be working yet, does it?

:confused3

I think it is because I curled up in a chair to read a book (the latest Nora Roberts) and I left the tv on for background noise. Before I knew it, the book was forgotten as I got sucked into coverage of the bridge collapse in Minneapolis. Hubby is from Minnesota originally, so he has dozens of cousins and other assorted distant family relations up that way. Over an hour later, I'm trying to drag myself away from the news.

Mac, My gosh I forgot to update on the crafts!:confused3

I sold a bunch of ornaments at a carnival about three weeks ago, but now I am trying Craigslist bc it is free!

I don't remember if I posted anymore pics, lemme give it a shot (sorry if they are a bit blurry!)...

Hey all....

doing my drive by before bedtime....

Can you believe that bridge collapse in MN??? Unbelieveable! I wouldn't want to be the guy who was working on the part of the bridge that caused that collapse! :sad2:

marci...wish the weather was better for you, but a rainy day on vacation in Fla, is better than a dry day at home :thumbsup2

Lynne--my secret to a very detailed TR is a daily log at the end of the day before bed. I just grabbed the laptop, dated it and wrote a summary of the day. Sometimes i even took verbal notes on my cellphone :rotfl: (that's a die-hard DIS reporter :rolleyes1 It really makes it easier to tell the story of the day AND my dig pix are in order, so I can recall how the day went! )

I know gemma got that book finished BEFORE she got to MCO  .....quiet here w/o her, isn't it???

she and some other homies are wrapping their trips up...namely robert...he left 3 weeks ago....his trip is soon over.... :guilty: ...but that means TR and pix for us :woohoo:

Tracie......like the new sig....looks JUST like you....:rolleyes1 (for some reason, i think the boy DOES resemble Frank...dunno why? :confused3 ) How's the boo-boo?

So, my second half of my day went just as I thought....and tonite was the first practice for soccer and we have got a CRIER on the team! :rolleyes2 He cried cuz he didn't want to "run" (uh, hello? you signed up for SOCCER....what did you think you were going to do?) THEN he cried about the gnats...then he cried he didn't want to run drills.....THEN he cried his arm was bleeding (still don't know what he did to that one :confused3 ) ...then, during scrimmage, he called "time out"...funny, i forgot he was in the game...he wasn't "in" the action..he was standing in the backfield. So, the coach asks why he needs time out....his shoe is untied ..... if I coulda strangled him, i woulda. THEN he didn't want to work on penalty shots, so he "fake" cried....so, Mom brings him to her seat (appx. 10ft. from us), sits him there, then walks around back to the other side of the field! So, I mumbled to DH: 1) don't let me sit near them again and 2) I'm so glad she brought him over HERE and left! I was glad it was the END of practice....2 hours was long enuf!!! And to make matters worse, Bubba got new cleats for this season, and he and i crossed signals, and he stepped on the top of my foot with his cleats on and I in bare feet (cuz took my flipflops off in the grass!) Anyhow, my foot is still throbbing.... :sad2: Hopefully be better tomorrow..... :goodvibes

Mac...how's the tribe doing? Pretty well I hope.... By the way, ain't I owed TWO prizes?? :scratchin

I hope I didn't miss anyone.....if I did, I'm sorry  not on purpose! Been a heckuva day...think I'll turn in and wait for DH to get home from hockey :rolleyes1

till tomorrow homies.....

hey homie barb

hope the tootsies feel better in the morning.

get some rest and have sweet dreams tonight.

i have to agree.
being in florida with rain, is better than being at home.

i don't think keisha waved bye bye to us before she left.

i wonder if gemma ended up giving benadryl to the kidlettes.......

tricia, do you know where Red Wing Mn is?

Yes! Brad was born in Albert Lea... spent a few years in Red Wing... but his teen years were all in Mankato.

We flew into Minneapolis and drove to Mankato for his 25th high school reunion. That is all the time I have personally spent in MN. But between hubby and his parents, I feel like I've been all over the state!

Okay, they are just saying the same things over and over on the bridge collapse story. It is time to turn the tv off and walk away.

Man, I get sucked into these kind of news stories.

I guess that'll be it for me tonight. Nightie-night...

tricia, we have relatives in red wing. my dad was raised there.

sweet sleep

It's always fun to have a kid who is a "challenge" on the team! Just think, you will always remember this year, and who knows, you might get to see him make some serious changes. Wouldn't it be cool if he turned out to be a really good player....you never know!

Oh, I've been washing clothes tonight, and discovered that my washer is LEAKING!!!!! :scared1: It quit spinning yesterday, and DH replaced a coupling on it, and now it's leaking.....oh joy! It looks like I'm going to be shopping for a new washer :sad2: DH said yesterday that if he couldn't fix it, he wants to get the front-loading stackable kind....I just don't know if I want to pay that much for it...my dryer still works (knock on wood)....DH is at work right now and will be home in an hour. He doesn't know yet and I hate to break it to him, especially since he wants a new TV.

Thanks for all the condolences and the

I'm doing better, and tomorrow I will give the pup a proper burial in my backyard. She's currently in a cardboard box on the porch (which is but a slab of concrete). I'm getting a shovel from my dad in the AM.

I still have three pets--2 :cat: and one :dogdance: They seem to be doing well.

darkie........
hang in there.

i'm sure the kitties and doggy will miss your beloved dog also.

i hope tomorrow is not too tough on you.

It shouldn't be too hard. The hard part was yesterday.

that's how it is, we went through it a few months ago. our oldest dog was 14 and literally passed away when we were out of the room. my wife walked into the LR to sit on the sofa and found him there and started screaming.

I join those who have shed more tears for animals than people. bury him with a favorite blanket or toy, you'll feel better tomorrow.

Morning...

Today is drive down to civilization day. Need haircuts for the boys and I want to get the wedding present for nephew out of the way (before the under $100 items are gone from their registry).

tricia, we have relatives in red wing. my dad was raised there.

I refuse to say it's a small world because the song will be stuck in my head for weeks... let's just say that is quite a coincidence!

I don't think they spent a lot of time there, just a few years. My in-laws are both 70... hubby is 50... his sister is 47. Maybe they met each other sometime in the dim past.
