Okay, I'm going to post a separate thread about this, but for you guys, here's my brief report:

Okay, today we went surfing and it was AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME! Being at Typhoon Lagoon at 5:30am wasn't so awesome, but the rest of it was so fun! I'll try to upload some pics later but I'm on DH's work computer so can't do anything now!

In case you're wondering how much fun it was, we'd booked back up reservations for next Tuesday, just in case we got weathered out today. Well, we decided we're GOING BACK! Heck with the $140pp, heck with the 5am wakeup, we're doing it again! In case it's not clear, it was a lot of fun and I strongly recommend it!

Hmmm... I'm not sure I understand... are you saying that you thought the surfing thing was somewhat entertaining? :confused3

;)

yes MAC-
my first to Universal, second to Orlando.

I am really thinking now of not buying tix for Disney, and just using the other 2 days to go back to US/IOA and really absorb it.
I think the one day for Seaworld will be fine.
My DH's job transfered us to Maine 3 years ago from New
Hampshire(I lived my whole life there) and we both want to live in Salt Lake. DH is a huge ski fanatic, i do alright.
whereas he can retire from the job in a little over 2 years, SLC is where we want to live. We may have to go out next year and neighborhood shop and that sort of thing. I am hoping to go back to Orlando next year, then skip a year when we move and do every other. But I really want to get a feel for if we want to be in Salt Lake or the neighboring cities-
I d rather really look now versus go when we find a house and be rushed. I am really fussy in the house shopping dept.
then again, car shopping with me is no picnic either.
so, we shall see.

I am really looking forward to the trip.
just think , a month from RIGHT NOW i will be off that bloody airplane and ready for mummy dust.:goodvibes

Both my DH & DS play hockey year round. Nothing better than sitting in a cold ice rink in the middle of a hot sticky summer!

i don't know about that....being home waiting in bed is SO much more comfy :cloud9:

marci...the surfing sounds fun.....glad you guys enjoyed it....sorry to hear more rain for ya's tho :(

Not much else shakin' ya all..... only had karate tonight....easy night....

off to putter.....

Haircuts went well this morning. No crying, no head jerks resulting in hair-holes, no problems at all.

Got nephew's wedding present ON SALE at Macy's. :cool1:

Now I am trying to do the Thursday night bookkeeping (payroll, accts receivables, etc.) while the boys zoom in and out. One is wearing a Sheriff Woody cowboy hat, Buzz Lightyear gloves, and brandishing a plastic sword... the other is wearing a Bob the Builder construction hat, gardening gloves, and swinging a plastic golf club. I'm not sure what the battle is about, but there are many "Hee YAH"s and giggling.

I guess I better get back to my numbers. Sigh. :teacher:

Sharon G.....thanks for the wonderful compliments! :goodvibes I love the Surfer Starfish too! That is why I only have 2 left!

Marci.....thanks for the TL surfing update! I was thinking about doing that as kinda a pre-wedding thing before we stroll down the Disney aisle :goodvibes . Can't wait to see pics!

When DH got home last night, we took the washer apart and found that it was the pump that was leaking, so we took it off and ordered a new one. It was a load off my mind to know that it was something that we could actually fix ourselves! :thumbsup2 I did look online last night at new washers and I saw some that wash and dry your clothes! I thought...what a concept! Do any of you have one like that? I thing we might have to get one in the next couple years. but I will wait until my washer is really bad...I guess I'll have to wash a load or two at my mom's or my MIL's house until we can get our part:laundy:
Too bad you dont live closer to me, we have a 60" TV for sale! DH wants the new improved model :rolleyes1
We have a 50" and my DH wants the new improved model too.....:rolleyes1 He wants a 65".....:happytv: men and their TVs.....:confused3

Ok, its's 9:30 PM here in Maine and still about 90 degrees. Not too many of us here have air conditioning. Sure wishing I did thou! New appliances are arriving tomorrow morning! I've spent the last 2
hours emptying out the fridge into two coolers. Luckily I could bring the
freezer stuff over to my mom's. Than, seeing as we are giving away the old one, I had to clean the whole thing! Found that summer squash I bought 2 weeks ago and forgot to use. :lmao: We've been eating leftovers for the last couple days trying to get rid of the stuff in the fridge.
Time for a shower and bed. Seriously thinking of buying an air conditioner for the bedroom. Talk to you all tomorrow.

Oh my goodness you poor thing! We would melt down here in Southwest Arkansas without a/c! All during the summer it's in the high 80's to over 100! We couldn't survive without heat in the winter either, and we wonder how folks up north can stand it! I'll take the heat any day over the cold...I hate to even go outside when it's below 35 degrees!

I'm with you Alison....I'll take 1000 degrees over 40 any day! I absolutely HATE the cold, and once it gets to just 75, i'm in jeans and cold! (Don't worry...the 10 year plan is to move to Fla :thumbsup2 ) Even in the summer, we keep the central ac at 80 (drop it to 78 at nite so it's cold to sleep!) Live indoors in the winter cuz of the cold...live indoors in the summer cuz it's too hot out for everyone else!

I don't have a front load washer, but i don't think i'd want one either :sad2: I am constantly throwing stuff in last minute and i don't think you can open the door to do that with a front loader....be a little mess if ya did!

my sears washer and dryer will be 18 in november-still running:goodvibes

I'm so jealous! You're moving to Florida in 10 years!!!!! We keep saying we are when we win the lottery!

I never thought about the opening them up....I do that all the time!

our Sears washer and dryer just turned 13 and still goin strong :thumbsup2

Ours are Sears too and they are about 13, we'll just keep fixing stuff on them until we can't fix them anymore.... We got married in 1990, and DH's grandmother had just passed away, so we got her Matag washer and dryer that were from 1964. They lasted until 1994, but for many years DH's grandmother was by herself. She sure didn't have any kids still in the house in 1964, so I guess a washer and dryer would last a little old lady a good long time. The four years we had them did them in! DS #1 came along in 1994 and then the laundry really started!!!!!

well....10 years UNLESS we hit the lottery....sooner then! ;)

I never thought about the opening them up....I do that all the time!

yep, heard that from a friend...i never thought of it either! AND, ya know what else??? My in-laws have a washer that the lid flips open back away from you (unlike MINE that lifts open to the left (side) ) and i hate it! Everytime I start to fill it and open the lid, the lid hits the button on the front of the washer and stops the fill :headache: a real p-i-t-butt! will always be concious of that when buying a new washer....when that day comes... :rolleyes1

OK, so Bubba is 8, you're waiting for him to graduate from high school....my boys want to be on the Disney or Universal college program (wouldn't that be so cool!!!)
You know what...I've got some lottery tickets that I need to check. (Mega Millions from Tuesday night and Texas Lottery from last night)

Yep....we play faithfully everyday.... still waiting to win BIG! :rolleyes1

Well, this is our plan: after our mortgage is paid off, we were going to move to Fla. (the idea is to semi-retire and "enjoy" living there...not live there and make a living!.....I want little or no mortgage when we move there) Anyhows, we figured Bubba will be about 12 or 13 when that actually happens. Well, DH & I both moved a lot when we were younger, and I don't want to move Bubba at that age....so, we'll "wait it out" :rolleyes1 We'll continue paying for college (already have 1.5 yrs paid for :yay: ) and save, save, save. DH always says to Bubba...."Your graduation present is a "For Sale" sign in our front yard! :rotfl: (true tho...) So THAT is our 10 year plan...like I said, unless the lottery comes thru first...then, we are outta here....8 or 9 is an "okay" age to move....but we might have to stay til Sept 2008 so Bubba can test for his 2nd degree blackbelt :scratchin..... oh well... eventually

Well, I'm off to get in the shower and then to bed...nite! :cloud9:

Ugh, Sharon... we wouldn't be happy around here without a/c in the summer and heat in the winter either. I had a friend that had moved here from upstate NY. He didn't have a/c in his truck (and why would anyone in upstate NY). ONE summer in Atlanta and he traded that sucker in...

I never thought about the front loaded washers either. I don't particularly like the look of them... remind me of my youngest years when we went to the laundromat... but I certainly never would have considered not being able to open them.

I have a washer that the top flips straight back. I only flipped it hard enough to hit the button and shut the water off a few times... :rolleyes1

I am off to gather things for Joshua's sleepover tonight. He's going all the way next door to spend the night with my sister. He won't head over there until dinner time, but we have to start the pile of "I want to bring" early so he doesn't forget anything. It would be such a long trip if he did.

I just voted...she's still in first place...but only by about 50 votes or so....

i'm gonna send pm's out to homies and ask them to vote.

if everyone sent the link to 3 people and they voted, it will help jennifer win
