the other side of the coin is, do i chuck the job, go down for 3 months and live at a topless beach and act like a bohemian and declare temporary insanity and sing kum-bay-yah at the next american idol audition????:rolleyes1

Sounds fun. Can I come too?

Lets not forget that she thinks a them park is not sucessful unless it has 11 millions guests annually? Could you imagine 11m guests in Universal!! Im glad they stay at Disney!

Those are great pics Marci! I hope you have someplace nice in your house to display the "Then and Now" difference!

Topless beach :scared1: ?!?! When I lifeguarded at the beach, I would have gladly taken the topless aspect rather than men and women dancing around with bathing suit bottoms that resembled floss  . None below the age of 60 I am sorry to say.

The countdown is on! Leaving on Friday! :woohoo: :woohoo:

morning homies.

it is wake up time

I'm up...... back to that "work" thing today

Tracie....every year we go to Wildwood Crest. Friends of ours own a condo on the beach and they invite us down the second weekend of August. Her husband (DH's best friend from HS) and I have the same birthday, so we always go down that weekend to "celebrate"......did a bit too much celebrating this year:faint: Always a good time and all the kids have a great time too! Will post more pix later, when I gots some time! ;)

penny--don't worry....your trip will be fine! you will go and have a great time! Don't worry about your ADR's...you have confirmation numbers (as a good DISer would :thumbsup2 )

tricia---my door is open if you'd like to come get my dust bunnies to visit yours :rolleyes1

not much else goin on.....gettin ready fer work!

i'd like to think there are some "hot" floss-wearing 60-something out there...hopefully with buckets of $:rotfl: beside them.

speaking of buckets - barb...no sandcastles:confused: , guess you don't bury eachother either...i like to sink family members up to their necks in the sand he-he;)

when people start posting too many inane facts:teacher: in their posts, it's back to skool for me...zzzzzzzzzzz.

marci - lol, i just noticed from above post...you all had matching shirts on for the 1st pic too.:thumbsup2 how do you get family to cooperate, my guys rebel.

i am now having vacation remorse.....

should we go ? should we stay at the one particular place?
are my adr's going to work?

will there be a (better wisper it....YOU KNOW WHAT- begins with an h and end up costly millions of dollars in damage :rolleyes1 ) ?????

:headache:

go and don't feel bad.
you should only get buyers remorse when buying a new house or car.

i'm not the right shape to go topless.
enough said. :rolleyes1

ohhhh.......you know my friend Dave! :rotfl2:

:rotfl: :rotfl:

Marcie - I love the pics! There was a "Now and Then" thread on the Disney Theme Parks & Attractions page last year. It kept getting bumped up every so often. I put in a pic from my first visit when I was 12. Those pics would be a great way to start a new one! :goodvibes

Morning to everyone! I've been up and at it for quite awhile this morning. Gonna take me a couple of weeks to adjust to the school schedule again. I have to start shoveling out the house so that it will be in perfect condition this weekend. This is our anniversary celebration weekend, so the in-laws will be staying here with the kids Saturday night. Time to hunt up the dust bunnies and put them out of their misery...

congrats on the upcoming anniversary!

i subscribe to the now and then thread. i'll have to go back and look for you

The countdown is on! Leaving on Friday! :woohoo: :woohoo:

do a daily countdown for us!
i'm excited for you

i KNEW your birthday was in august.........!!!
you stinky, you don't let anyone know the date and take away the joy of us making you smilies for your day....

a belated happy birthday to you barb!

Yeah, but you know how bunnies are. If my bunnies met your bunnies, we'd probably both wind up with MORE bunnies to clean up... :scared:

I am NOT in the mood for cleaning today. I keep trying to get motivated, but I find myself sitting on the floor and building blocks with Daniel instead of picking them up and putting them away. Hey, the kid has to have something on the floor to play with, right?

Happy belated birthday Barb!! You should have told us.

Im getting quite annoyed at this 'woman' on the other thread, you know the one who visits WDW every fews weeks and has lived in Florida for 6 months....grrrr, she says shes presenting people with facts and that we are totally wrong. WHATEVER MORON!

If your post, Metro's post, or my post doesn't take her down a peg or two... :lmao:

I think I made my point, so I'm not going to give her any more fuel to work with. I'll take a page from Metro's book and bow out of the thread. :sad2:

On to happier subjects...

I missed the part about that beach trip being a BIRTHDAY one Barb! :cool1: :bday: party:

Happy Belated Birthday, Barb!!! Sorry I missed it.

Someone else has a birthday coming up soon, but I won't mention anymacnames, or anything. ;)

Melissa, congrats to your friend!

Who does this Evil Princess think she is and why isn't she on my ignore list yet?

The UPS guy stood us up last night. :( He called yesterday morning and asked if someone would be home between 7:30-8 since he had a late day yesterday. Mike waited on him till 8:30, and then had to get ready for work. He was a no show, and didn't even bother to call. So, I need to harass them again today. Bummer. It sounded like they were going to step up at first.

Enough about my boring life.

What good books is anyone reading lately (besides Harry Potter)? I love to read, and have been reading this book "And then we came to the end" about a bunch of marketing folks who were going through lay-offs. If you've ever worked in a cubicle environment, it's very funny. I am always looking for a good read if anyone has any recommendations.

I'm beginning to think Figment slipped Evil Princess something. She's drugged up on Figment snot.

Bummer about UPS. I would definitely be on the phone chewing some hind quarters. Damage my property then do a no-show on the appointment to check it out? Not good. :headache:

I just finished The Year of Yes... a book about a woman that was so tired of relationships with men she thought should work, she decided that for one full year she would date anyone that asked her. She figured her criteria for Mr. Right wasn't working, so maybe she was limiting herself too much. Funny stuff. I also read Nora Roberts latest (High Noon) and it was okay. Good, but not her best work KWIM?

Im reading PS I love you...again. I just love it so much!! Im not sure you have it in America? It's by an irish author called Cecilia Ahern. Shes fantastic! Its about a woman whos husband died of a tumor. He knew he was only diagnosed a few months before his death and he knew he was going to die. Well, him and his wife always had a joke going on about if he died he would have to leave her a list of things to do or else she wouldn't have a clue. Well, in secret, the husband wrote this list, with one thing to do in each envelope and one envelope to open every month. The novel is about how this woman copes after losing her husband with the help of these short letters from her husband- each one ending in P.S I love you. Some bits are really really funny. Other bits are sad. It is written so well though and keeps you hooked from the first page. It really is a fantastic book- I can read it over and over and never get bored! If it's in America, you have to read it- you won't regret it!

(PS. Don't I sound like I'm trying to sell this book! lol)

Thanks to Mac reminding me that I subscribed to the Disney "Now and Then" thread, I found it... http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=880727

I'll go ahead and throw out that my embarrassing old pics can be found in post #125 and post #202.

Don't laugh if you decide to look at them.
