OMG!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl: That is hilarious!! Can you imagine me going online to find me leaning in for a kiss from Mr BK himself!! I love it!!

WHERE IS GEMMA??? She's got to see this!

Im here, I saw, I pissed myself laughing!

OK Bubba's Dad...thanks for posting photoshopping that pic and posting it! That was GREAT!!!:thumbsup2

Thanks Bubbas Dad!

Going to have another giggle at it now- you guys are so funny!

Mornin'

Somebody needs to teach my boys that Saturday morning is for SLEEPING IN!!!

I know... the teen years will teach them that well... but for now... YAWN... ;)

I caught up on the chatter from yesterday, but I don't know what I'll remember. Ummm... I am NOT a purse diva. I have a black Liz Claiborne shoulder bag that I use almost every day. My mom bag to go along with my mom jeans. I have a brown one and a gold-toned Hilfiger, for those times when I need something different. There's a black clutch and a fussy white beaded clutch, for the rare formal/dressy times. I think that's it.

Don't get me started on shoes. I'm 5' 11". I wear a size 10. Shoe shopping is NOT a fun thing for me. Try to find good looking dressy, yet relatively flat shoes. Aaaargh!

Bubba's Dad did great with the Gemma-morph! :lmao: Look what we do to a simple drunken post. I'll have to be careful if I PUI again!

Alison & Rose & Gemma - Hi! Good to see you guys.

Todd - Tell Mac HI! Hope you enjoy your time together.

I'm heading down to civilization again today. Got to meet up with my oldest sister for lunch and finally give her the birthday present I've had sitting in my closet for a month. :rolleyes1

Well, just another very quick drive by ... Mike is outside cutting the grass, and I am supposed to be at the gym, but that is just NOT happening this morning.

My night was not quite as wild as any Gemma (loved the Photoshopped pic, BTW) would have, and it would be utterly ridiculous if it were. But, we went to our favorite restaurant where they made a special just for me (red snapper over rice pilaf and under some garlic butter with broccoli, tomatoes, and artichoke hearts). Can I just say that although it probably doesn't sound appetizing to some, it was perfect in every way for me, and as I tried to finish the whole thing, I should've switched to water, but kept with the beer. Which I really should've had wine, but I didn't know I was getting my own special dinner. Then when we came home, a concoction of Bailey's, Frangelico, and Peppermint Schnapps sounded good -- what was I thinking? And I kept making them, and now I have to go clean up the breakfast bar, because that's where I left all the bottles and they're just sticky and I've made a mess.

I am going to tan, then come home and shower, and then I am off to the Celtic Fest. A friend of mine is having a pre-party and then we are caravaning over to the Fest. . Perfect, I need a hair of the dog right now. ...

Rose, I do know Laura Ingraham, and I would love to see her sometime. Lucky you! Glad you had fun.

I glossed over some stuff about outlets. Mike didn't marry a shopper. A vacation hound yes. A shopper, no. I am not the queen of style or labels. Function and comfort every time!

What else have I missed? I can't really read right now. So, I will just say, Happy Saturday to everyone. Smell ya's later!

Hello everyone!!!

Stoppin by to check in before I go get my timing belt, water pump and God knows what else replaced on my car.....(preventive maintenance...nothing wrong with car .... yet!)

Gemma...(& everyone else) Glad you liked your pic w/ BK :thumbsup2 When's the wedding so we can plan a shower? ;)

Rose....great of you to stop by. Sounds like you had a nice "adult" evening to yourself....you need those once in a while to keep yer sanity. Good for you! :thumbsup2

Tricia....they don't sleep 'in' at Daniel's age.... at Joshua's age you could probably get away w/ "go watch tv...i'll be there shortly".... Ry was an early riser for years. He would come into our room (Sunday mornings) and very loudly announce he was up for the day. "Mmmmhmmmm honey....why don't you go watch Blue's Clue's...Mommy will be up in a few minutes" :rotfl: When he was around 3 or 4, we explained he could get up and play or watch tv....because even if he was up, my subconscience wouldn't let me go back to a deep sleep....more like laying in bed w/ eyes closed.... could hear everything..... Even at his age in elementary school, he is so used to getting up at a certain time during the week, he is usually up (within a half hour) at school day time :confused3 Guess I'm still waitin' on those teen years when I am draggin' him outta bed at noon! :rotfl: Hope you enjoy lunch with your sister today...a little "grown up girl time" is a good thing..... (wish i had a sister i could do that with......) You and I would be great buddies if we lived near each other...I'm about 5'9" and wear 8.5-9.5 shoe (depends on the shoe...I like my flipflops bigger, so i wear 10 in them  [BUT, they always seems smaller than shoes for some reason? ]:confused3

Jodie....sounds like a yummy dinner....and, ahem, interesting evening..... (altho I think you left the best part out :rolleyes1 ) By the way, you don't want to shower after tanning....you're inhibiting the process. You need to wait about 3-4 hours after tanning to shower.... I know it's yucky, but tan then go to the gym....that'll kill some time. (The skin needs time to absorb the UV light down into it...so, if you shower, you are washing excelerator off and it does something else that I can't remember...will have to ask my buddy....either way, i do know you're not supposed to shower immediately after tanning.....

Well, DH is on his way home from Bubba's soccer game and stopping by Honda to pick up the water pump for my car today...yes, the one I didn't know I needed. Then we are heading to our friends house so he can replace timing belt/water pump, etc.... Prolly ordering pizza for dinner...this will prolly take all afternoon.... :sad2: ...but I do get to 'ketchup' w/ my girlfriend :thumbsup2 who I haven't seen in a couple of months (due to our work and kids' schedules).

Smell ya's L8r......

Guess we should all hang around together - we're all tall with big feet! Funny Tricia because I would have pictured you as around 5'2 or so! I'm also 5'9 (like Barb), but wear a size 11 shoe! Actually, as strange as it may seem, for all my life I wore a size 9.5. Then I had oldest DS and ended up at a 10 - not bad actually because it seemed like finding size 10's was a lot easier than finding 9.5's.

However, you can guess what happened next. 2 more kids, 2 more half sizes! Being in a 10.5 for 2 years was the absolute worst because nearly no one in the world makes those - had to live in New Balance and Easy Spirit. An 11 sounds so huge now, but I can almost always get stuff really closeout from Lands End (you know, on the overstocks, when all they ever have left is like 5's and 11's!).

I've found the opposite on sandals, though. I always wear a 10 in any kind of really dressy (ie cut out toe) shoe or sandal. I'd just slip right out of an 11. I think my feet are narrow, but if I try for a smaller size in regular shoes, my toes hit, but if there's room at the front they can squeeze out.

Tricia - not too many years until you start saying "Get your butt out of bed!" No actually, my 12yo still is up bright and early, but the 2 teens certainly aren't. Then you have them at 11 at night saying "But I'm not TIRED!"

Rose, sorry, but I don't recognize the name! I'm a WI person (previously MI), but not Illinois. Not to mention nearly totally a-political, so even if he was from WI, I probably still wouldn't have heard of him! Good luck on your Cubs though!

Jodie - Sounds like a fun weekend already! You guys have a good time. I know what you mean about the hubby and computer stuff. Every now and then, Brad will give me a "If I have to look at the back of your head for another evening..." type comment. Then I know I've been ignoring him for too long. :rolleyes1

Barb - Have fun getting the car stuff done... or hanging with your friends while getting the car stuff done. Just think of all the labor you are saving on!

The lunch with Susan, my oldest sister, was more of a family obligation thing. I don't have the same close relationship with her that I do with Carol. Not that I dislike her or anything, she's my sister and I love her... it's just different. I guess it's that with Carol, even if we weren't sisters, we'd still be friends. With Susan, eh, I don't know if that would be the case. KWIM?

Marcie - My sister, Susan, had the same thing happen with her two kids and shoe sizes. She went up half a size with each pregnancy. I was prepared for the same thing to happen to me, but it didn't. My feet were swollen for the last few weeks I was pregnant, but once I had the baby and the fluid-retention thing stopped happening, they were still the same size. :confused3

I'm actually a couple of inches taller than Brad. I *try* to keep my dressy shoes low-heeled because I don't want to tower over him and look like the Amazonian freak that he married, but it never bothered him that I was taller... so I will admit that I have let go more in the last few years and wear slightly higher heels than I used to. I still don't wear the seriously high heels, but I never did that anyway. My friend, Leta, from the drunken stories? She is the queen of high heels. I don't think I've seen her in anything less than a 3 inch heel since high school. I refer to them in "ho" levels. "Whoa! Leta's got her Super Ho Shoes on! Must be on the prowl..."

Gemma - I'm going on record that the BK pic was a team effort:rotfl: ; glad you think it's funny:banana:

So we got a bunch of long, cool women here? I'll stand in your shadow, I'm barely 5'4"; bad feet from years of stilletos (who you calling 'ho lol)- now i wear crocs & flats. Small feet; but had different toes broken on one foot over the years (evidently, i'm a klutz - once dropped a 2 liter bottle of pop on it & big toe split wide open:scared: ) Now, one foot is way wider than other...makes shoe shopping a challenge indeed. i'm a mutant:cool1:

DH & I are morphing into the same person...we both came down with a heck of a cold/flu yesterday evening. Still feel like heck today, have to go to dinner I promised w/DS & DIL (the confirmation stand-by); have ressies for 6:30; hope they have wedding soup today.

Hope y'all have a good evening.

Shout out to Mrs. Akdar..........outlets opening soon....
:rotfl:
I told here Barb, I have the site bookmarked for her. I like that the outlets aren't opening until we get back from Orlando :)

*Update*
After my better half figured out exactly what I was talking about she says, "Oh, you mean all the new outlets that are opening in Limerick in November" , yeah, she knew, says she saw it on the channel 69 news recently. Anyway, good news for me, they are opening a "The Raiders Image" store! That's good news for us east coast Oakland Raiders fans!

DM - I was cooking dinner tonight and it suddenly hit me. "Get wit her." "Put onions on her?" :lmao:

I'm not usually that slow. My only excuse is that we don't use the phrases "wit" and "wit-out" down here.

I still don't get it? :confused3 Guess I'm really slow! Help me out!

There's that famous Philly Cheese Steak place (I want to say Pat's). When you order, you have to say "wit" (with onions) or "wit-out" (with out onions).

Okay - thanks! Having never heard of Pat's (or really having anywhere here to get Philly Cheese Steak) I at least feel better that I wasn't being completely stupid!

Just dropping in to say hi!! Was out tonight, didn't get too drunk. Had a fab night and was standing at thebar nesxt to Jermaine Pennant!! Ok I unsertand that none of you know who he is but he plays or Liverpool FC and is very big to me!!

(Told ya she already knew ;) ) BTW, Bubba's soccer game today was against Tulpehocken....at Jefferson Park just west of Bernville. Had I gone to the game, I'd waved to you...but, I wuz working and didn't get to go. :guilty:

Tricia.... :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: NEVER crossed my mind I was tellin' DM to "put onions on Ad" :rotfl: I meant more of "get together and be a couple in life" = "wit" ;)

Marcie.... a few weeks ago (I think you were writing your TR), DH & I went to the Tweeter Center in NJ for Opie & Anthony Traveling Virus show...very raunchy and raw....a "certain type" of humor.... If you had read around that time, I did a mini-TR for that evening....mentioning how we ate dinner at Pat's Steaksin Phila. (famous and in competition w/ Geno's ....located across the street.) This is how you order there...if you don't get it right, they tell you about it...but, being rude and famous in Phila, they can do that. It's a few pages back if you want to read about it....around mid-September.

Gemma....glad to hear you had a non-drunken wonderful nite! :thumbsup2 You never gave us a 'wedding date' so we can plan your shower?? :confused3

Okay, so the car thing didn't go too well. One lousy, stinkin', stubborn bolt would NOT budge! :headache: SO, instead of taking it to the dealer to have done, will wait till spring. Come spring, will take my car to my tire place, bat some eyelashes, and ask them to 'loosen' it for me. Might have to break out a 20 :scratchin .... Anyway, he checked my belt, said it looks good and can get at least another 20,000 miles on my car before I'd have to worry. So, I feel pretty good my belt isn't ready to snap. MOF, he said I could get another 5-10 years out of my car...it's in that good a shape. We'll see....dunno if I want this car for another 10, BUT, we were tossing around the idea of giving it to the boy in 8 years for his own car and I'll get a new one :scratchin But, was nice to catch up w/ my friend...gave her family haircuts and her color/cut.... had a nice time.

BTW Janet...speakin' of color/cut...... :rolleyes1 ....waitin' on those pix :surfweb:

Guess that was about the hilites of the day...... how bout you???

Barb - okay, I did read the mini review at the time, but evidently not in enough detail. Yep, I was confused!

Since it's a pretty quiet evening, I'll share a funny story I've been meaning to post. We have a hot tub on our back patio - here's a picture of the boys in it last winter to give you a visual:

Whirlpool2.jpg

Well, a little over a week ago, we went out in it. Usually at night when we go out we don't turn the light on, either on the patio or in the whirlpool, because it's nicer to just sit in the dark, see all the stars, etc. We usually even try to turn off the kitchen lights (next to the hot tub) so it's nice and dark (and it was me and random kids so nothing exciting was going on! ). Anyways, DS14 had gone in so DS12 and I were out there alone.

Suddenly I notice a large dark shape in the hot tub. As I start to say "Get that big leaf out of there", I suddenl realize that said leaf is swimming! Trust me, you'd be impressed at how fast I could be out of the hot tub and standing nearby on the concrete patio! Meanwhile DS has figured out it's a frog and as I keep telling him to get it out of there he's having a blast watching it swimming around (do frogs and chlorine mix?) Finally (after I'm shrieking a bit), he scoops it out and puts it back out in the yard.

However by now DS is just completely :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ! He thinks this is the most hilarious thing in the world, and asks me "Since when are YOU so terrified of FROGS?" See, we go camping a lot and one of the places we go to has a pond with tons of frogs/toads and yes we go out in our little inflatable boat and catch them and let them hop around the boat and back into the water. But, see, that's a whole lot different than sharing my hot tub with them!

Incidentally, he still laughs about this happening every time we go out there (and we now leave the light on!)

Tricia.... :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: NEVER crossed my mind I was tellin' DM to "put onions on Ad" :rotfl: I meant more of "get together and be a couple in life" = "wit" ;)

I knew what you meant. I just happened to remember the "wit" thing in regards to the onions and whatnot, as mentioned in your mini-TR. Callbacks= great comedic tool, as illustrated here.
:cool2:

our next vacation/holiday dilemma is a strong one.
flights from maine to Bahamas are awfull.
to fly outa Manchester or Boston is a llllllooooonnnngggg day......

So I was thinking, what if we do Clearwater/Tampa???
see Busch Gardens, the Zoo and Aquarium, and some beach time.
I have always wanted to try a wave runner and snorkeling...

Thoughts? Comments Wanted! Suggestions....
I promised Dh we would not do Dis or Uni next year....

although, put me on record for wanted a threaders meet...
i would be there......:thumbsup2

Gemma - I have no idea who you were standing next to at the bar, but if you are excited then I am too! :thumbsup2 :yay:

Barb - Sorry to hear the car stuff didn't go exactly as planned, but it must be good to hear that things are in good shape. My car is dying a slow painful death. It's not pretty. :sad2:

Janet - Hope you & hubby are feeling better. :goodvibes

Marcie - I can think of a lot of things I wouldn't mind finding myself sharing a hot tub with... but a frog is NOT one of them! :lmao:

DM - I thought your onions comment was hysterical... once I made the connection. :rolleyes1 I was cooking onions, which reminded me of Barb's trippie with the picture of the Philly place menu, which made me think of you saying the thing about putting onions on her, and viola'... I'm standing at my stove lauging my butt off while my family looks at me like I've lost my mind.

Penny - Good luck on the vacation decision. I have been to Busch Gardens Tampa and loved it, but it was... goodness... 10 years ago, maybe more?

Thanks for keeping track of the football for us. Yes, let's hope that the Falcons decide to break the egg and win one for me. :scared:

I don't know what we'll do today. I don't think I'm in the mood to flip channels between football and the race. It is a beautiful day. First touch of fall is in the air. I think I'll try to convince the boys to get out in it and DO something. We'll see...

Busch Gardens Tampa is fun! Sheikra = one of the most amazing/scary/fun rollercoasters you'll ever go on. Ever.
