My sister and I are paying for our own weddings, so I guess that's why the feelings are different, but my mom has insisted that she pay for the dress, veil, any other headpieces like tiaras and I know she wants to pay for other odds and ends too!

i don't 'do' wedding $, i spring for the honeymoon (least i can control the costs from spiralling outta control) lol

Crappy time here.

I finished work on Auld years day at 2 and was in bed with a head cold by 3.

Finally out of bed last sunday only to collapse in the afternoon with stomach pain...

Taken to hospital.

5 cm Cyst on my ovary got infected and burst.
Never had pain like it...including child birth !!

Just got out on Friday.

Pain has eased but the antibiotics have me throwing up.

'ring up ur dr & ask for different antibiotic, many r ruff on the stomach (might be the pain meds if ur still taking them) i've been there, it stinks...will pass though; hope ur feeling better soon

Well Mac. I figured we would use the pool , get a car go see the hover dam and take a ride to bufflo bills to ride their coaster up there . I want to ride the coaster at NY ,NY and see if the one at the stratusphere ( sp?) is still open . We are not big gamblers but there is so much other stuff to see there too .

I just did USF/IOA twice this year and HHN is just too much for me . If I had someone else to go with DH to the parks I would go but this trip will just be the two of us .

(i have a TR somewhere ); if u can work it in don't skip the Grand Canyon - pics just don't do it justice! we drove from vegas, stopped @ hoover & took the tour inside, then drove to GC for sunset, stayed overnight on rim, hit the sites down to flagstaff & back to vegas...bit grueling, glad we did it

off to get me a new cell phone, my battery died last trip & now i've managed to kill DSs old razr's too...i must suck the live out of it

Mike - I wish AirTran or Southwest came to western Canada but unfortunately they don't ... yet ... so we're stuck with the legacy carriers for now. I have heard that Southwest signed a codeshare agreement with our Canadian carrier Westjet (supposidly our low cost airline although they are often pricier than the US carriers that fly here). So I'm hoping we'll have access to some great deals in the future. Last I heard they would start selling tickets on each other's flights by late 2009.

It's been snowing here since just after noon ... supposed to get about 8 inches over the next 24 hours ... on the brightside, it looks like we're going to get above freezing for the later part of the week and they are forecasting about 10C (50F) on the weekend

i can hear the jealousy in your voice bonny....

ohare has canceled 300 flights already and midway has canceled 150 of them.
and the lucky ones that got out had long delays this afternoon.

this is the main reason i don't travel in december and january.
you would spend days of your vacation sleeping at the airports.....

Ugh - we're dealing with this too. Trying to go pick the kids up and just trying to shovel off a path to go down (without packing down the snow) and I can't keep ahead of it. They're saying 3-4 inches, but I've shoveled at least 3 times already and I'm pretty sure there's more than that.

We didn't get any of the mess you did this weekend though, Mac, so I guess I shouldn't complain. But they are saying really cold here coming up soon. Lows in the -25 range (withOUT the wind chill) and highs "struggling to reach zero" .

Royce & Matt flew out to Colorado Friday in the midst of your storm and are flying back tomorrow. Luckily they went through Minneapolis rather than Chicago. We'll see what tomorrow brings!

Took the younger two, GF, and another friend away skiing for the weekend. We had a really good time, but it was a lot of driving, a hotel with random teenagers and snowboarding for me the whole time since I lent one of the teens my skis. But still fun. At least the weather cooperated since we headed north! I have a bunch of pics, but they're on the new digital camera that we bought Stephen for Christmas (a Black Friday special that Royce HAD to get since it was such a good deal) and I have no idea of how to download them. Not that I do on our regular camera, but still at least I have an excuse with this one!
