Merry Christmas, y'all!!!!!!!!!!
Hope everyone has had a great holiday so far. We kept it light so we'd have money for our trip in 13 days. WOO-HOO!!!!!!
DH really surprised me this year. We love antiques and old things. The first present he gave me was a very nice old copy of Black Beauty, printed in 1944. I got my first copy of that book for Christmas when I was 7, and it was a paperback. This is a hardcover in great condition. Happy, happy! The next present was a really big surprise. He said to be careful opening it because it would come apart more easily than the first present. When I picked it up, it felt like another big, old book. When I unwrapped it, it was a little tiny notebook PC wrapped in a spine of cardboard to make it SEEM like a book. DH is very clever. It only weighs 2.2 pounds, and most of that is battery weight. I can fit it in my purse! I'm naming it Pubert after the youngest member of the Addams Family. I'll be calling my little bouncing baby a kneetop instead of a laptop. It's just too cute. And blue! I've been a little lost ever since Jonathan destroyed the laptop, so I'm thrilled to bits. Best of all - the manufacturers have started demanding that computers come loaded with XP again instead of Vista, so this one is BETTER than the last one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The kids loved their stuff, Brent really likes his stuff and was very surprised by all of it, and the dogs are just glad they got breakfast. We had a big pancake breakfast after presents, and Jonathan decided he likes bacon. Two sources of protien he'll eat now! Good thing the other one is chicken.
...you encourage your kids to use the decorative nut cracker for the nuts, and then get dramatically upset when they break it.
...you forget to read How the Grinch Stole Christmas with the kidlets.
...you eat macaroni and cheese for Christmas dinner 'cuz ham takes effort.
...you refuse to shop at all for Christmas because everything is cheaper after Christmas.
...your favorite Christmas saying is Bah, Humbug!
...you tell the kids there is no santa just so they'll stop asking for so much stuff.
...you tell the kids Santa is just Satan with the N in the middle, and his "elves" want to poison them with those so-called candy canes.
You're making your own invitations? I wish I'd had that kind of skill and motivation! You'll have to show us pics when you finish one!
Marcie, sorry about the bannister. Crazy! And the other accidents brought a smile to my face, because that's just most days at my house.
Mac, you're a good elf. Everyone who thinks Mac should give me her address so I can send her an honorary Elf ornament, say AYE.
Todd, I think I need to relocate eventually. I just love your orange trees.... My Grandpa in CA used to grow lemons and limes in his back yard. I can't move there because it's going to fall into the ocean after it burns to a crisp.
I have thoughts for most of the rest of you, too. But kids are needing me ASAP. Gotta run. And I can keep my kneetop right with me!

I was going to post a thread on this but figured I start here first so lets see who plays along:
You might be a Grinch if
...you encourage your kids to use the decorative nut cracker for the nuts, and then get dramatically upset when they break it.

Well finished opening gifts around 8:30 this morning...
Probably going to get Chinese food for lunch/dinner (I know, we are so traditional)
I got the Cricut!!! Its a scrap booking tool that I'm going to use to make my wedding invitations.
Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday!
