Merry Christmas, y'all!!!!!!!!!!

Hope everyone has had a great holiday so far. We kept it light so we'd have money for our trip in 13 days. WOO-HOO!!!!!!

DH really surprised me this year. We love antiques and old things. The first present he gave me was a very nice old copy of Black Beauty, printed in 1944. I got my first copy of that book for Christmas when I was 7, and it was a paperback. This is a hardcover in great condition. Happy, happy! The next present was a really big surprise. He said to be careful opening it because it would come apart more easily than the first present. When I picked it up, it felt like another big, old book. When I unwrapped it, it was a little tiny notebook PC wrapped in a spine of cardboard to make it SEEM like a book. DH is very clever. It only weighs 2.2 pounds, and most of that is battery weight. I can fit it in my purse! I'm naming it Pubert after the youngest member of the Addams Family. I'll be calling my little bouncing baby a kneetop instead of a laptop. It's just too cute. And blue! I've been a little lost ever since Jonathan destroyed the laptop, so I'm thrilled to bits. Best of all - the manufacturers have started demanding that computers come loaded with XP again instead of Vista, so this one is BETTER than the last one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The kids loved their stuff, Brent really likes his stuff and was very surprised by all of it, and the dogs are just glad they got breakfast. We had a big pancake breakfast after presents, and Jonathan decided he likes bacon. Two sources of protien he'll eat now! Good thing the other one is chicken.

I was going to post a thread on this but figured I start here first so lets see who plays along:

You might be a Grinch if

...you encourage your kids to use the decorative nut cracker for the nuts, and then get dramatically upset when they break it.

...you forget to read How the Grinch Stole Christmas with the kidlets.

...you eat macaroni and cheese for Christmas dinner 'cuz ham takes effort.

...you refuse to shop at all for Christmas because everything is cheaper after Christmas.

...your favorite Christmas saying is Bah, Humbug!

...you tell the kids there is no santa just so they'll stop asking for so much stuff.

...you tell the kids Santa is just Satan with the N in the middle, and his "elves" want to poison them with those so-called candy canes.

Well finished opening gifts around 8:30 this morning...

Probably going to get Chinese food for lunch/dinner (I know, we are so traditional  )

I got the Cricut!!! Its a scrap booking tool that I'm going to use to make my wedding invitations.

Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday!

You're making your own invitations? I wish I'd had that kind of skill and motivation! You'll have to show us pics when you finish one!

Marcie, sorry about the bannister. Crazy! And the other accidents brought a smile to my face, because that's just most days at my house.

Mac, you're a good elf. Everyone who thinks Mac should give me her address so I can send her an honorary Elf ornament, say AYE.

Todd, I think I need to relocate eventually. I just love your orange trees.... My Grandpa in CA used to grow lemons and limes in his back yard. I can't move there because it's going to fall into the ocean after it burns to a crisp.

I have thoughts for most of the rest of you, too. But kids are needing me ASAP. Gotta run. And I can keep my kneetop right with me!

All you photo posting peeps:

Do you prefer Snapfish or Photobucket? I have a Snapfish account that I've never used. I probably have a Photobucket account too, but I've heard alot of people say it's a slow pain trying to load pics there. So what's the best route in your opinion(s)?

I know I'll want to post pics with our TR when we get back from our January trip, so any help is appreciated. TIA!

I tried both and photobucket seems too be alot more user friendly to me..
Once you have the pics on your PC the download(depending on how many)is easy!!

i have both but forgot my pw
i have lots of pics on them.

if i can just find that scrap of paper i had the pw on.........
one of my sons said he would teach me how to post my pics here.

since that has not happened yet, no pic posts here from me to you all.

Tink - I've never had problems with photobucket. Every now and then they do an "update" and then you kind of have to figure out everything all over again  but otherwise, I've never had problemw with speed. If I have a ton of pics to upload (like 70 or so), I'd probably do 10 at a time so I wouldn't lose them all in the middle if the site or my computer was beings stupid. If I am doing 10, I'd probably set it to upload, go get a drink, run to the bathroom, etc., and it's usually done by the time I get back.

Oh and contrats on both the presents! Cool! :thumbsup2 Guess we'l see you around a lot more now then?! ;)

I would stick with Photobucket. I've had an account on there for four years and have never had any problems.

Today was surprisingly busy at the parks. This is good. It's going to be hyperbusy the next week, but I'm a Seasoned Pro.

That is all. Nothing special to report otherwise.

darkie, hope you got something good in your christmas stocking this year..

A got an fistful of air.

I don't celebrate Xmas, so I got & received nothing. Which makes me happy. :cool2: I have to save my $$$ for my trip to Las Vegas anyway. That trip is next month! :woohoo:

me too bonny...

maybe metro is waiting closer to the end of this year for the new siggie..

Hello all ...

Christmas was good here too . Kids all got what they wanted and mommy got her new Coach Sunglasses ..( Thank goodness for those coupons ) and I also got some clothes which I needed for work :teacher: .

So Katie which Cricut did you get ? I have the Expressions and I  it. I do some scrapbooking on it . The kids love it to do projects with too . We have a science board due on the 5th of Jan . that I am going to use the Cricut for .
I can't even think of making my own Wedding invatations though :scared1: that is a lot of work . Since you are having a Disney Wedding are you using the Mickey and Friends cart or the Princess one? That would be a nice touch ... Maybe :confused3

Hope everyone else got great stuff for Christmas . Looking forward to the new year . I am in the process of making the HHN or Las Vegas decision for next Oct. I so want to go to HHN for my DH and his 40th B-Day but we have never been to LV either and it seems like a good idea too . Going to wait and see how the money goes and see if there are any deals for either as it gets closer.

Have to go to a mass for my friends mom today and I may take the kids to the mall .. Teen girls with gift cards to spend makes it a happy day for them .
BBL :surfweb:

AYE :cool1: from me too .

Hey Metro are you a Child of the 80's Video Games too ???

LOVE the new Signature .. Mine would have Pacman or Ms. Pacman but gotta love the old arcade games .. Hence the need for X-Box 360 in my house .

Macadamia I think mac needs several ornaments/gifts. I can not believe she went out and mailed out an ornament & was out the expense to 2 day ship it right after she had surgery. She did not need to be out in her weather especially doing that. She definetly went above and beyond.

I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas!
