Hi Homies-
Haven't been here in a few days, just read 10 pages I missed. Been busy being a domestic goddess lately (my DH called me :) )
Did a Target run earlier in the week, then went to school team meetings(about my kids) on Thurs, drove Matthew to band practice. Yesterday a Walmart run and made brownies and decorated for Valentine's day a little. Took Chrissy to get her haircut after school and dealt with her huge tantrum in the van when I didn't take her somewhere to buy some box dvd set she wanted :( .

The weather was above freezing for a couple of days and now it is single digits here again. Well January is almost over, so closer to Springtime! :goodvibes

Hi to all :wave2:

Enjoyed everyone's pictures:thumbsup2

Going to church tonight and going to see some people getting baptized in the "jucuzzi for Jesus" baptismal water. One of our former teaching pastors called the baptismal pool "jacuzzi for Jesus" :rotfl: :lmao:

Wanted to share to all the homies here the chocolate-frosted brownies I made yest. Yum!!

Keep warm, everyone!

Ok im back.Yesterday my DD18 decided her 02 Escort could beat a 08 Caddy!! Well the caddy one of coarse..

She and everyone is fine. But her car is totaled..

When I got there she was shakend and told me the whole story,SHE WAS TEXT MESSAGING and did not see the car stop in front of her..

At that point I was mad,but I didnt show it,I was more concerned about her being allright..

But as of today that phone is no more unless she buys her own!!!!!!!

I swear it feels like one step forward two steps back!!:sad2:

Duck Man, sorry to hear about DD accident. Glad she's okay! My DH and I have said several times when we see young "adults" driving stupidly that they have to learn the hard way not to text on the road. And when they zip by weaving through traffic, one of us usually says, "They must be late for their accident."

Sad news here, too. Not as sad as a wreck, but it has me really, really bummed. We won't be going to HHN this year.

I told DH how excited I was about our October trip and meeting everyone, and he got a little uncomfortable. He said with some of the things we need to do this year, he just didn't see how it would be feasible. We have a bunch of home maintainance that needs to be done (REALLY needs to be done - our house is 170+ years old). We also have tuition for his classes, and we've been wanting to get solar panels since we moved here. And a list of other things that escape my mind at the moment. We avoid debt like the plague, so we're not taking out loans or using credit cards for any of it. Puts a big dent in the vacation plans, but it'll be worth it. I'll get over the disappointment and I WILL meet my friends the HHN fans! Just not this year.... :sad1:

Darn would too love to meet Ya'll.But I can see were your comming from.
We are the sameway. We do all repairs on our house out of pocket..Only way too go..I hate bills!!

Maybe in 2010,we can doo the Dis'er HHN VIP TOUR..:thumbsup2

i totally understand the maintenance of a house and the costs involved.
we had to have a new roof with a tear down and refit for all the windows put in last year on our house.

this past week, it has been the plumbing.
in fact, the plumber just left our house again 20 minutes ago.
when he redid the plumbing leaks in the bathroom, one of the pipes froze up today.

he insulated it this time and we are crossing our fingers.

our list is a mile long for the repairs we need to do and half a mile long for the repairs we are forced to do......

it's always a lot of
2.gif
out for us as we don't know how to do the jobs.

do what i do taminator, go solo to the darkside and it's lots cheaper.......i work part time and save every penny of it for the trip costs.
