Good afternoon all..
Finished my testing. If I make the cut they will be more!!

Hi Guys. It's almost Friday!!! Which means that DH cooks.... which means that we get to eat out!! I've got a "buy one get one free" Ruby Tues coupon, so will probably end up there. Love their salad bar.

Speaking of cold weather, DS's car sits outside while he is in Florida going to school, so once in awhile I take it to work to keep the battery charged. Had to scrape frost off the inside of the windshield this morning. :confused3 :upsidedow

hi Sharon.........so good to see you here!
our cars sit outside also.

all 3 of them and it always takes longer to get the ice off of them.
i feel your pain in the scraping.

donald, you're free now!!
you'll do great on that last test.
i just know it!

No matter were your at,it is going to be COLD tonight..

There talking about 24 tonight here for several hours!!:scared1:
Got to keep the spickets running or I'll have busted pipes by morning..

Stay warm all!!

snow day today and tomorrow and then the weekend with Monday being the holiday:scared1: :scared1:

Sounds like time for a quick trip to Disney! ;)

Janet - at 10 above our kids still go out for recess! I don't know what they're going to do tomorrow since the forecast is for even colder tonight now. Then can't cancel again (we're out of snow days), but a 2 hour delay will get it probably from -42 to -37 or so - yeah that'll help!

Oh, and no I don't scrapbook, much to the chagrin of my best friend who's spent about 12 years trying to convince me to (she's a stamping & scrapbooking seller - like tupperware parties but for those instead - can't remember the name). I keep telling her once she comes snowboarding with me I'll scrapbook with her. ;) But she insists that's not fair because you can't break your arm scrapbooking!

About the most motivated I get is posting these pics for you guys. Don't you feel honored! :rotfl: I'm too lazy to print and mail them to mom, who's too computer-leery to view them online.

Groceries - if DH is actually home, I try to make him a list on Saturday night and he goes early Sunday morning since he's usually up about 2 hours (or more) before the rest of us. Gets him out of the house and gets something done. Otherwise, sometime around 5pm on Sunday it finally occurs to us that if we actually want to eat that week someone's going to have to venture out and brave the crowds!

Hi Sharon! I don't think we have Ruby Tuesdays here. We don't have a lot of stuff, and a lot of what we do have keeps closing. Doing lunch with the DH tomorrow - guess we have to decide where! I'm getting a perm in the morning so I'll be lucky if I don't look like Bozo (with the red nose from the cold to match!) when I meet him!

Hey Gang! no, I have not died. Just some winter hibernating.

since there are soooooooooooooooo many threads about new disney resort mugs and when, I put a poll out under resorts.

hopefully, mods will not lock it/flog me.

feel free to vote. :goodvibes

Well, got that dreaded email and phone call just now. NO school tomorrow either!! UGH!!!! and no school Monday b/c of MLK day!
Chrissy did her happy dance just now :dancer:
Matthew really wants to go to school. I want them at school also :sad2:
DH is laughing, he does not feel sorry for me
DH gets to go to work tomorrow and I stay home with the nutty kids :scared:
Maybe we'll make peanut butter cookies tomorrow if I'm up to it.

Minniejack- I feel your pain

Got to watch ER tonight, as the kids took over the tv today.

Watching Blazing Saddles now, don't ask

Have a good night everyone.

marci - that's a funny quote from ur bud, remind her of the dangers of scissors;) good luck on the perm, r u keeping the same length?

any time is a good time to disney, orlando, anywhere but here

skool canceled here too - woo-hoo!

Ok I have had it with 2009 already too . WHY is everyone crazy ??:confused3
First off my DH is a wonderful man and my FIL is a SAINT and is going straight to heaven one day . It is my MIL that is nutty and not getting any better even with the nice meds the doctor gave her . Now that her mom has passed she is even worse then ever and has taken to the bottle for help. I am at wits end with her and DH and FIL want to just appease her in all ways . I say that is not the answer and REFUSE to help with letter her go down this distructive path . To that I get no help just a lot of arguments . AHHHHH
second rant ... my DS is out of school today because he has this wonderful stomach thing that is going around. So today I go to pick up the HW . All is good until I see the Social Studies assignment that is a report and project . Now I remind you that the child is 7 and we live in NYC . I read the information on landmarks and important people and see that we are assigned ...ready.. Ground Zero ...   .. Now this would be great if her was older and we didn't have direct ties to the events of 9/11 . My father is a survivor and we lost two very close friends . One that we still see his wife often . I went to the school to talk to the principal , i explained that he is 7 and that most of the information will be reserched by me and that I just couldn't spend hours like this :surfweb: looking up that subject matter it was too upsetting . She was understanding and told me to write to the teacher and that it would be changed. OK .. I am just baffled that this was even assigned to kids that age . I am also baffled that there is a child in our class that lost a father 9/11 why assign this class that project ? Is it not too much to ask really ??

Ok my long RANT is over I had to get this off my chest as I am running out of friends that want to hear me RANT to them . I know there is love  here though .:rotfl2: :lmao: .

On a brighter note it is FREEZING HERE... But the plane that crashed here had all Survivors  . It was amazing to see that everyone lived through and that the polit was able to land without hitting anything but the water .

ALL the kiddies are going to school in the morning and Mom is going to get a HUGE cup of Starbucks with one of my friends . That is if we are not Frozen first .

It is 8:30 and I am going to relax in a nice hot shower then off to bed . If I am not back later I am :cloud9: sleeping .

Yay Penny - welcome back! Don't you have a birthday coming up soon?! ;)

No notice on schools here yet. No, they'll wait until 10:30pm like they did last night, when it's too late for anyone to do any actual planning or anything. Or do the 5:30 wakeup "no/delayed school" call. Those both make much more sense than telling people at 7pm when it could actually be helpful. :rolleyes1

Janet - I'm still trying to grow out my hair to close to one length. Still about at the collar, but not layered. I've been trying since our Disney trip, 1.5 years ago, and I swear my hair just doesn't grow. My son's grows about a foot each year. Mine maybe an inch.

Mary - I agree that's a pretty ridiculous assignment. It's not exactly "history" yet, and obviously a bit much, especially in your part of the world. I'd still feel it was a bit much, even here. Maybe in 20 years or so, or as you said, maybe at the high school level. I read about the plane crash - wow! That seemed really weird, but glad it wasn't as serious as it could have been.

Off to catch CSI soon!

Hello all. My niece and nephew have gotten me sick again. Oh well. Hope all is well.

does your mil have dementia?
maybe the death of her mother has put her over the edge.
is she on aricept?

i think many schools do projects on the 9/11 situation to keep it alive for all generations. many do not want to forget what our country has gone through.
sometimes a project like that has the student at a young age to talk to others about it and present the his report as a reporter.

it wasn't only people that live in new york that were affected.
we all were.

hey marci, i'm a big fan of CSI also.
i thought it was good tonight.
maybe great! especially at the end where grissom finds his love.

you'll have school tomorrow.
it is going to still be cold but a tad up in the numbers but not quite zero yet.

and i know some one else that is going to have a birthday this month..;)

Hello all. My niece and nephew have gotten me sick again. Oh well. Hope all is well.

don't you just love sharing........
families always give the sickies to the ones they love the most.
i bet you got lots of hugs from the kiddos.

do hope you feel better soon andy.

From my nephew. My niece doesn't like to give me hugs. But she's 2, so she'll grow out of it. I'm going to see an exhibit on King Tut at the Dallas Art Museum on Sunday, so that will be fun. And only 5 more days till Repo comes out on DVD. I suggest all you horror buffs check it out. Its awesome. Its direct by Darren Lynn Bousman, director of Saws 2-4. And stars Anthony Stewart Head from Buffy.

No school tomorrow! :sad2: Guess that means a makeup day somewhere in there now to mess up our lives! Matt had a whole one day of school this week since he was in Colorado Mon & Tues and then off Thur & Fri! Totally changes my plans for tomorrow, but I'm still going to go early and get my perm. Boys will still be sleeping or playing video games at that time anyways.

I enjoyed the CSI tonight too. I was a bit more  than you at the ending I guess, probably influenced by my kids doing a Jurassic Park thing since it was in Costa Rica and Grissom was dressed like they did in the movie. I kind of felt that if I were Sara, I'd be like "Come on, I went half way across the world to get away form you and you still followed me!" ;) But I liked the plot overall. I just wish they'd shown either Grissom or the professor going back to the jail to truly gloat. Kind of like "ha, ha, bye, bye!"

And conveniently enough, Stephen's GF's birthday is the same day as mine so it's easy to remember. Don't tell her, but he got her some cool charms, so we ordered a charm bracelet and a bunch of other charms online for everything she likes. I'll try to remember them all - there are:

1. Two charms from Twilight (diamond heart for Edward and wolf for Jacob in case you're interested, Mary!)
2. A cute turtle charm (because she collects turtles)
3. A sweet 16 charm (since she's turning 16)
4. A bone charm (since she has a dog)
5. A music note (since she's in choir)
6. A skier charm (for obvious reasons)
7. A toothbrush/toothpaste charm (her mom's a dental hygenist at our dentist)
8. A bingo charm (they're big church bingo players and have taken my son several times)

I'll try to take a pic when we get them all.

Well, I'm going to go try to pry the boys away from the video games and convince them that they want to go to bed even though there's no school tomorrow. Night all!

Hey youse....

Thank youse all for the mummy dust and hugs....

Youse are all the best homies ever !! :goodvibes

Good morning homies
The starting of a long day cause already took Dw to work cause she has to go in due to school being out ( not for snow but for temp being 10 below )
her boss is out due to personal problems and other coworker out cause she said her stomach was hurting still from yesterday which mean Dw had to work three hours over yesterday and has to be there by herself today and clean the whole building by herself and not to mention she has hurt her knee and is now limping around.
Poor little lady works so hard
Can't wait to take her to Universal in june cause I think she has earned it

Good morning all!!Its Friday..Have to work tommorrow tho,but its in Orlando and its only gonna take me 2hrs to do it.So I'm gonna slip on into Universal too finish my day!!:thumbsup2

Scotlass hope your feeling better!!!

Hello all...

Mac . my MIL is manic depressive ( sp?) and now she is drinking so it is not a good place to be right now. Everyone seems to appease her now and that is not the right thing to do . She needs to be on her meds with no drinking involved . LOTS of stress there :upsidedow :sad2:
The Ground Zero thing bothers me more because of the age group that the assignment was given to . My older two could do this project with no issues at all but it is just way too much information and understanding involved for a 7 year old. I understand the history aspect of it totally .

Marcie .... Love the Twilight charms idea can't wait to see them . I am totally OCD by the way with it . I am thinking of putting a quote from it up on my walls with the Cricut machine I can cut those vinyl letters with that machine and I have a scrapping corner that needs some life put into it . ;)

Off to a good shoe sale today and then some light cleaning . DD has a friend coming over . Then the mad dash to get everyone everywhere they want to go on a Friday night :drive: . Moms taxi service right here at their service .

Looking forward to doing this :beach: in 5 months It is TOO COLD OUT .
