Bonny -

Did you check out the link I gave you and Mac the other day? If not...here it is again. I thought you would find this interesting:

Todd -
I just checked out this link and read the story about the Bell Witch. I've heard about this story for years but we've never been there even though we live so close. But I'd like to check it out sometime. I told Greg we should try it later this year. I think it'd be fun!
Thanks for the link...

You're welcome and let us know if you decide to do the tour. How far you do live from the Bell property?

I just read in the paper this morning that Alaska is -50 degress.

Brrrr....

School children still have school, but they don't go out to recess once it reaches -20 degrees

Guess Alaska must be colder than here! Our recess is cancelled at -10 degrees, and they usually cancel school (or do a delayed start) when it gets close to -40.

And yeah, I had to shovel today, so I didn't make a 5 day streak!

Off to work - everyone have a good day!

(and yes Katie, of course we want to see your pictures!)

Happy Wednesday all ...

It rarely gets that cold here however, once you reach -40, -50 is really no difference - it's darn cold no matter what!!

When we were heading back from our trip to Florida last January, we were on our layover in Minneapolis and saw that Edmonton was -56 with the windchill ... both Lee and I wanted to get on the plane back to Orlando.

Alaska is colder than us here in Northern Alberta ... and yes I had to shovel this morning too

we got ice last night, no snow worth shoveling yet this season...oh to be able to say that come spring:banana:

MOA sounded cool to me, saw Travel Channel program last year, looks like fun

st l - good luck on the airfare

bonny - u have a more positive attitude than me when it comes to looking forward to checking out the airfare...SW should release for my summer dates end of month...im having a sinking feeling that rates will be sky high (pun intended:upsidedow ) factoring in 4th of July travel...week sounded good @ the time i picked it lol

okay, so it's a new quarter; the price of oil has been down for awhile...when r the trucker rates going to readjust (excuse store's gave for raising prices on food, etc.-blamed it on the quarterly adjusted rate they allow for their contractors-truckers...who i don't blame one bit, they can't control the price of oil & have mouths to feed too)...

if the money isn't going to transportation costs, what else r they going to blame as keeping the prices high...aka, sticky prices:mad:

vent over, i feel much better now:rolleyes1

The weather works the other way also, years ago it was -27 in Chicago when we left, it was 93 in Orlando, when I got off the plane I could barely stand up i was in heat stoke

:headache: Need to vent. I HATE THE NEW YEAR. I HATE having to deal with all of the insurance issues.

We received a letter dated Dec 30 telling us that we needed to change our long term drug pharmacy by Feb. 1. I called insurance 1st and politely stated that they really should've given patients more notice before the end of 2008.

The girl kept repeating that the info was in my handbook. I kept repeating I never got a handbook. She snippily insinuated that it was in the HANDBOOK until she finally changed the subject. Imagine, in my mail the same day I was on phone with her, I received my new insurance cards and a big pink letter stating that handbooks would be coming in a few months.....:headache:

I was on the phone on Monday with insurance, doctor, old pharmacy and new pharmacy for several hours with my DH's drugs to be delivered today. :headache: I just got the phone call from old pharmacy stating that their computer states that my insurance doesn't cover past December 31, 08.

More phone calls to new pharmacy, insurance and hopefully drugs will be here in the a.m. tomorrow. :headache:

I personally feel that there really wouldn't be a medical crisis in this country if we got rid of insurance and went back to the barter system.

We have some frequent flyer miles with Northwest that I'm going to use ... now that they've merged with Delta who know what will happen to the miles, so I want to use them up before we lose them ...

we are lucky here.
our prices for regular gasoline is at $2.00
i'm hoping it stays this low for a long time.

were you in chicagoland 10 years ago?
i think it was 10 years ago sunday we got a record of 22.5 inches in one snowfall. it paralyzed city transportation and the highways going in and out until it was cleared. then 2 weeks later, 11.2 more came in the next storm.

2005 was another bad year for lots of snow.

good thing you got out while you could.

You shouldn't loose any of your miles because of the merger
I belong to delta and northwest but just don;t have enough miles to use :lmao:

Oh by the way good afternoon homies

I did live in Chicago 10 years ago but on the big storm I was down here in Tampa with my daughter visiting family,my wife still had to work the holidays in Chicago.Needless to saw she was not happy about how things turned out.We had about a 140 foot driveway and the snowblower was of no use.I've seen enough snow for the rest of my days have not been back in 9 years

We don't have enough miles for a free ticket, but hoping for at least an upgrade :thumbsup2

Same way for me cause I have about 2,000 miles with Delta and I think I read if I wanted to use them then it would like only knock off $50.00
