Something About Nothing............ #14

Thanks all, DH always has a good sense of humor, and that wasn’t lost. Life may never be the same, when he does finally get released, as the doctor said should be earlier next month. While I was sad to miss our Fall trip fun, he is stubborn, but glad we got him to hospital when we did. We did reschedule the vacation until next year. Hopefully by then, time off will happen as moved until then.

That's a lot and a very long stretch in hospital. Military members are nothing but resilient and adaptable, will help him in his journey.

Thinking it may have been a good thing you were still home when this all transpired.

Pumpkin - I have the full vanity in hand. Still have to open the boxes to make sure nothing amiss.

Was surprised to realize the base comes fully assembled, like a piece of furniture. Have always had to piece them together in past

I was charged twice for basin. Will wait a few days to See if it rolls of CC.

Quick hello before heading off to work. Yesterday was a crazy day of rescheduling clients and dealing with insurance. On the bright side, I was able to resolve 2 of my insurance problems.

We are supposed to get rain all week. Hopefully it will clear out before Saturday’s football game. Next weekend we travel to NC for my first away game.

Hope things are improving for Lynne’s husband.

Good Tuesday afternoon everyone :wave2:

Good morning everyone. We had a great day yesterday with our university’s homecoming. We won our football game. Yay! :cheer2:
Congratulations on the win.

I hope B is feeling better.

Going to pull out some of the halloween blowups, maybe an animatronic or two as yard looks barren. Many had full on displays up before Labor Day lol.
It’s time for those Halloween decorations.

Last day of pool time. Sadly, had to cancel our vacation, as DH had a medical emergency three days before. He is still not out of the woods yet.
Lynne I’am sorry to hear about your husband.

Sending prayers for your hubby to have a full recovery and for you and your family as you help him through this journey.

Admittedly, new obsession is group skeleton displays. I'm cheering :duck:for this one
That is an awesome display.

Glad to hear you all were able to reschedule your vacation.

Enjoying a wonderful relaxing day by the pool. Did pop into the Mandara Spa. I hadn’t looked in there for a longtime. . It has been totally redone. Not sure when the refurb was done, but it was in need of one. It looks nice. We have access with club level.

Vacation has been wonderful. Had great sisters day yesterday.

On HHN

I will be honest HHN has been a bit of a let down this year. It pains me to say it. Only one Scare Zone decent.

Couple houses I really like.

Sadly event should be called teens gone wild this year.

I’am sure some have read of issues with unruly teens causing havoc at the event this year. Sadly they have ruined the event for the Scareactors and attendees alike.

So sad as I have also seen very well behaved teens.

There have been injuries to Scareactors do to this behavior.

I witnessed some of this behavior on this weekend in line for one of the houses and witnessed security rescue a Scareactor in Blumhouse Scare Zone from an unruly mob of teens.

I’am honestly shaking my head on this.

If I had no comparison on the event from past years I might think this years event was ok, but having the comparison from great years in he past this is a bit of a bleak presentation.

There is not as much merch, Halloween decorations are not well presented.

You can tell cost cutting has happened. For the amount of money I paid for ROF WITH EP I can’t help but say it was not worth it this year.

But most of all is the total disregard for the treatment of the Scareactors. Many have been injured and quit do to maltreatment by attendees.

There are no stilt walkers in the Scare Zones because of injuries that occurred two years in a roll. One permanently disabling one from last year.

There are Stilt Walkers in some of the houses.

My vacation in September has always been HHN, park and relaxing pool time. Might have to rethink HHN going forward. I love all things HALLOWEEN that will be sad to cut out HHN.

In Universals defense there has been increase in Security, Orlando PD AND Sheriff's dept.

Hi everyone:

Robo: I can't believe that unruly teens have endangered the scare actors and ruined all this for everyone else. I hope that Universal throws them out and bans them for life. It's horrible to think they even hurt some of them. There is no excuse for this. It makes me wonder if some of them are videoing all of this to put on tiktok? That seems to be a thing now, but I hope that's not the case. I have never gone to HHN, but we will be there on the 3rd of November for a daytime house tour. It looks like you are having a wonderful vacation with your sisters:)

Charade, congratulations on winning the homecoming game. It seems like you are a football fan like me. I don't miss many NFL games on Sundays or during the week either. My husband just does other things while I watch all the games. He will watch one occasionally but he's not a big fan like me.

Keisha: I hope you got everything worked out at Lowe's? Seriously, my brother has sworn them off many times, but then a deal comes up and he's hooked again. How can they consistently mess things up? Their management must be awful for all the stores. His is in Tennessee.

Pumpkin, I'm with you on the covid seriousness thing. I have lasting damage from my bought with it and have to wear hearing aids now.

Hi to Mac!
Hi from a distance to Tom and Carole.

Well, it's been a month and Finally my back is about back to normal. Riding in a car bothers it but otherwise, I am doing good:) I've never been out of commission for a month with back problems before and hope to never have that happen again. I'm being very careful because of my trip in early November, which is about 6 weeks away, Yea!

We have been having weird weather here. It's usually in the 60's but it has been 80's for days now. I know soon it will change to normal, but it is weird. Next I'll be complaining about the cold, LOL.

Take care all,

ruth

Hey all, I’m blond(er) again. Girl had to hustle, said she was so glad I showed up 15 min early. The receptionist only scheduled me for an hour vs the necessary two. She’s usually done early with my appt, a little over 1.5 hours.

I told her it was ok to just do highlights. Can’t remember last time I did that. Let’s just say the mr is liking it lol. Made next appt in under 2 months to add in the low lights and freshen it all up.

Hauling out the truck full of pop & water to DS house before GD track meet today. Will allow us to not have to be there as early on Saturday to the charity golf outing in order to ice it down, somebody else can handle it @ the clubhouse. Handing off the raffle stuff I bought too. Less stuff we have to drag out Saturday, the better! think I might still do a lottery tix bag, they seem to sell well.

Going to pop a nice beef roast in the oven before we do leave, some taters, carrots & celery; will be nice to having waiting when we get back home. On low temp that is so forgiving, no matter if we get back @ 6 or 7 pm.

Next weekend we travel to NC for my first away game.
Hope u have great fall weather! Have fun
Sadly they have ruined the event for the Scareactors and attendees alike.
While I do think they need to hold the tweens/teens responsible, I also think the ultimate onus is upon Universal to set up protective guidelines to provide a safe environment for both their workers and guests.

That’s a good start.

IMO a better one is to set and enforce stricter polices for minors during the event. The behavior you describe has been reported during regular evening park hours too, especially during the summer & the weekends.

They instituted curfews for non resort guests for minors in citiwalk.

They need to do the same for both resort & park guests.

At the very minimum for HHN, even though it means they might take a bit of a hit @ the gate profits, U needs to:

*set a strict age limit & enforce it for HHN, if only on the weekends. As in, if you can’t produce a document with your pic on it (school ID, driver’s license, etc) go home, unless…

*insist an adult be present, taking full responsibility for “underage” childrens’ behavior in the park.

*adult must operate as chaperone and, even then, only for a maximum of 3 kids.

do I see this happening? Yes, only after a guest gets hurts.

being a right to work state, FL permits employees to sign away rights to sue their employer. No idea how U falls in that camp. Could be NDAs and waivers for limited recourse if hurt in line of work depending how it’s categorized. I’d like to think not the case. The employees deserve better

Off soapbox now

While I do think they need to hold the tweens/teens responsible, I also think the ultimate onus is upon Universal to set up protective guidelines to provide a safe environment for both their workers and guests.
It does fall to Universal and until stricter measures go out to control the behavior it is going to be a major loss to Universal. As many older people who have the disposable cash to enjoy the events will take their business elsewhere.

Many Scareactors who have loved their jobs over the years will never return to work at HHN again do to their poor treatment.

The disappointment with the behavior and the event this year is palpable every where. I have heard complaints openly practically everytime we are on the Water Taxi, at the pool today and in the Club Lounge.

I’am not telling people not to come to HHN, because I want to feel there is always a silver lining if you look hard enough. I just think Universal needs to acknowledge the problem and put measures into place to stop the issues.

The safety of their employees and guest should be paramount.

Quick Tuesday stop in!!!!

Quiet night last night. Whipped up some dinner - breakfast for dinner and then just a quiet evening. I thought about a walk - but that's as far as it got :rolleyes1 lol

Started this post this am...it's now 1:40 and my casual gal left early as she had a family thing come up. I worked through lunch trying to partake in a teams education session over lunch - and only got to see 1/4 of it with pts being booked all day and 2 RO's this week. Our locum RO is here this week seeing pt's and doing consults and follow-ups. So....busy, busy, busy

*set a strict age limit & enforce it for HHN, if only on the weekends. As in, if you can’t produce a document with your pic on it (school ID, driver’s license, etc) go home, unless…
I am from the group of people that think that " It is ok to have adult ONLY " places - and I believe this is a place where it should be enforced. Those parents who feel entitled that their child could/should attend this type of venue need to take a backseat. Even if you feel like your child will like it - it's a no go zone. As well, as enforcing adults attend with teenegers - to be sure those teenagers act appropriately - and don't jeopardize someone safety.
Many Scareactors who have loved their jobs over the years will never return to work at HHN again do to their poor treatment.
And that is the sad reality.

Well...off to complete some tasks from all the consults this morning :surfweb:

Have a great day everyone!!!

Can you guess how my day was today?
Nope, thank goodness. Lol

Dealing with Insurance co as a consumer is daunting enough

I can only imagine having to push thru claims as a provider these days.

From speaking to many in both sides, seems to be new tactic in place???

Being that the ins companies only authorize treatment short term for various therapies, despite the patient having much longer coverage in place

Provider has to send detailed progress notes, evidencing compliance & improvement or ins pulls the plug and treatment is done

It's hump day!!! I just hope that it's not groundhog day and repeating Monday - which seems to be the theme for this week.

Quiet night last night. Whipped up some dinner - picked up some french onion meatballs from Costco, dug up 2 of my potato grow bags and cleaned up some tatters to cook, added some green beans and caesar salad - and it was done. Ds's stated they liked my meatballs better and to not buy that again. It was pricy for what it was - so probably wouldn't get it again.

It was raining last night - so no walk. But I did go out and walked around HomeSense ( HomeGoods) for all of you ::yes:: to see what was all out. I still miss working there and playing and moving all the pretty things to make nice displays. So I got some extra steps in that way.

Can you guess how my day was today?
ugh....I am sooooooooooo glad I don't have to deal with any of that at work here.

Trying to make a claim for personal services that are not covered here - some are simple - others are a nightmare. I put in a claim for youngest ds's insoles for his shoes - not a problem. For me to get some compounded medications covered, I have been pulling out my hair to get those covered.
So simple but, effective, even I could pull this off
That is sooooooooo cute! As for what I would talk about - it would also be Disney, Universal, my hate of winter, and my love of travelling in winter to hot destinations :rotfl:

Well, off to get some work done :surfweb:

Have a great day everyone!
