Something About Nothing............ #14

I agree!!! I/We have a great love of all the movies. We just finished watching " Order of Phoenix". MY least favorite of them, so I'm looking forward to the next ones. I have a feeling we will be having a few more movie nights that the boys want to watch before our trip.

I am soooo excited for them to experience both HP areas of the parks. They are beyond excited. Watching the movies has definitely added another layer to our trip.

23 days!!!!!

That`s not my favourite movie either, it`s almost like a filler between the fourth and sixth. I didn`t realise your sons hadn`t seen the Potter areas of the parks, that will be exciting!! Seeing them as a first timer is incredible!!

Pumpkin, time always runs slow when a trip has been planned!

The wait for it is always exciting.

That is so true!!!!

Quick ck in while watching debate

Both passed our physicals today.

Spent quite a bit time outdoors today, another run of 85 degree weather 😍& sunny

GD came in first place at cross co meet today, forgot to ask her time.

Cross country is very odd to me,

they line the participants up & away they go up and over the first hill, see you later gator. Spectators stand at start/finish line Not a whole lot to actually observe. I'm sure the officials know what's going on, me not so much lol

Well done on passing the health check! Always good to hear everything is working as it should and nice weather too, can`t be a bad way to spend a day....I`m not jealous lol.....

Well done for your GD!! I loathed cross country at school, it was always cold wet and muddy and I was never a runner over any distance, I don`t think many people are natural runners to be honest, but your GD certainly is a natural.

Who says you can`t sleep nights before a trip.....yep, that would be me!!! Came downstairs around 1am as I was wide awake, went back up around 3ish, slept for about an hour and up again, made a pot of tea and listened to the radio in the kitchen and dropped off on the sofa in there for an hour, then up again.

I am going to be so sleepy today.

Hair at 10am, so a few hours to go yet, we have croissants for breakfast, I look forward to them a little later, lunch will be a quick grab before we head off to meet Kyle at the Mercedes dealership, then dentist, then Chinese take out before packing.

But, it is cold and windy this morning with possible thunderstorms later, so warm clothes today and yes, scarves are out already.

Have a lovely Wednesday :flower1:

It's hump day!!!! Thank goodness the casual gal is here today. My brain won't hurt by the end of today - hopefully :rolleyes1

Weather was chilly this morning - but it seems to be warming nicely now.

Quiet night last night. I whipped up some dinner, fit in a quick walk again, had a little facetime chat with dd and gd, then just sat with the remote.

Both passed our physicals today.
Nice!!! It is what we all strive to do. It must be all the park visiting/travelling you do that keeps you in tip top shape ::yes::

Congrats to your gd on her run. I used to do cross country in high school - but that was forever ago. I like my walks now in my more " advanced" age  My knees would not let me run anymore. I had bad knees as a teenager. So I take care of my knees now and watch what movements I do.

Yikes - I hope you get a good nap in today.

Well I should run and get a few things done yet - that I can't pass off to my co-worker.

Have a great day everyone!

I am beyond excited :woohoo: It will be an adjustment for them to move back - coming back to the small town
Congratulations on your daughter and family moving back near you. It's wonderful to have family around. We are lucky that both our grown kids and grandkids live close by:)
Love these Potter movies, I admire JK Rowling more every time I watch them, she created something very special indeed
Carole, I've always wondered just how does anyone write like that. Where does it come from. She must have written the end first to be able to weave all the other things that happen in the books. To imagine a whole new world with it's customs, languages, and people is unbelievable. I am beyond glad that she didnt' let Disney mess up the Potter lands when she talked with them. Apparently they would have changed a lot of things. JKR stuck to her guns and went to Universal where they built a fantastic land. I never get tired of just being there.
I am soooo excited for them to experience both HP areas of the parks. They are beyond excited.
I envy your grandkids getting to see all the wonder and splendor for the first time. What a special vacation for you all.

First, congrats on your good PE results. Also congratulations to your GD winning the cross co. meet. I don't understand too much about them either, but what an accomplishment!
Cross country is very odd to me
Yes it is.
Who says you can`t sleep nights before a trip.....yep, that would be me!!! Came downstairs around 1am as I was wide awake
Me too. I tend to watch the clock go around every hour on the hour, and then it's so much fun trying to stay awake for the trip, LOL.
then Chinese take out before packing.
Carole, I think you listed everything to do before packing!!! I know it's your least fun thing to do, but by now you must be a packing genious! You have to know where everything goes and into which suitcase:)

It's so exciting to hear of everyone's upcoming trips. The anticipation is a big part of it for me. I still have to set up a car service for us, and make reservations at a park, stay, and fly hotel in Minneapolis. Then it's easy sailing for us:)
When I scheduled the trip, I didn't even know HHN was going on that long. So, we took advantage of the last day of HHN for the day tour of some of the scare houses. That's about as scared as I want to be:)

My back is much better after 3 doses of Prednisone. I couldn't tolerate the muscle relaxant so bought some Benadryl to help me sleep and relax. It's difficult to Not do anything when you feel better. I confess I put my fall wall hangings up and some decorations around the house. Our falls are so short that I barely get them up and it's winter!!! Got an early start this year:)

Happy Wednesday everyone,

ruth

Saw this pic of Empire State bldg. Thot it pretty cool...RIP Lord Vader

Glad you have a happy brain tonight!!! Yes, chilly here now, glad it warmed up for you!

Nope, didn`t get a nap, busy all day, so I`m hoping I sleep tonight, alarm is set for the morning so won`t be too long before we head to bed.

Yes, knees need to be taken care of, my dad was bothered with terrible knee issues, so I`m hoping I don`t inherit them!!

JK Rowling is a genius and an incredible woman who didn`t have the easiest of lives and stands for what she believes in despite being vilified for it, I admire her tremendously. Lord yes, Disney would have turned Potter into an abomination!!!

lol.....we finished packing about half an hour ago, went better than expected and all 3 suitcases are under 50lb, albeit one of them is just under by around an ounce or so, but just toiletries, make up and last minute stuff to pack. I agree, the anticipation is always fun!

Glad the back is doing better, getting sleep is one of the best things, if you can sleep well you tend to cope better with anything through the day.

Will catch up soon!

What a day! Hair done this morning, er, it`s short, and blonde and I love it! Nice Olaplex treatment too, then home for quick lunch before meeting Kyle at the Mercedes Dealership, his car is stunning!!!

Then dentist, everything good there and mouth has healed nicely, got my next appointment sorted and he thinks final part will be in before Christmas, good to know. Then Kyle drove over and we admired his car some more, ordered Chinese food which was lovely, Kyle left for home, called mum who is doing much better after having Covid then Ruth will be happy to hear we packed everything in record time!!!

Glass of wine and some nonsense tv before bed and hopefully a better sleep!!

Hope everyone is good!!!

Today, I “cater” the football team dinner for DS’ team…100 people. Making 3 trays of penne. “Starter” Sauce started yesterday, the meat etc. in bit of it. need to finish that off today and get it out to cafeteria & ready to serve. I will sleep good tonight :)

I’m too lazy to write a DL TR wanted to toss a couple pics out next few posts.

DL hands down, beat MK on food in general, especially baked goods. Not the biggest macaroon fan, couldn’t resist this huge one, filled with caramel buttercream and pumpkin cheesecake. Seriously, the best I’ve ever eaten. I lugged it back to room and it was my last day there breakfast:

When I grabbed them out of the refrigerator, noticed the mr’s shortbread bat cookie had mysteriously lost a wing overnight

Well I should run and get a few things done yet - that I can't pass off to my co-worker.
Nothing wrong with a well-executed hand-off lol
I am beyond glad that she didnt' let Disney mess up the Potter lands when she talked with them.
I think of that often when wandering thru the lands @ U. Hard to imagine WDW only wanted to do an attraction or two!
It's difficult to Not do anything when you feel better. I confess I put my fall wall hangings up and some decorations around the house.
A long road for you, I’m thinking that stretching (if gentle) may have helped the back. Know when mine acts up it’s the last thing i want to do
Glass of wine and some nonsense tv before bed and hopefully a better sleep!!
You had a very full day and accomplished a ton! Are you going to grab an extra suitcase for the goodies you may bring home?

Thought of a friend the other day. Her entire family participated in what I thot an odd way to make room for souvenirs in their luggage. They would pack the rattiest underwear & socks, then dispose of them each day. Gave them enough room for whatever. Bet housekeeping just loved that.

It's Thirsty Thursday and boy with the way this week has went - I might sitting with a beverage tonight or tomorrow after work :rotfl: It's been a bit of a crazy week with extra emergencies coming in - lots of extra bookings for scans and labs in other centres and and and. Many things have been hitting my desk. I am hoping today and tomorrow will be a more of our normal days.

Busy night last night. Whipped up some dinner for us - then baked some nanner bread, ,the colored all the sparkles out of my hair again :rolleyes1 Those darn sparkles keep reappearing lol. I only do a root touch up. I actually have an appt later this month to color/brighten all my hair again. I get it done once a year then touch up my roots throughout the year.

Woke up this morning, and it was raining. The sky definitely was dark this morning :sad1: Even when I was driving to work - it was still somewhat dark yet with the rain clouds. They must be dark heavy rain clouds to have it feel so dark.

Ugh...hit enter before I finished with my quotes - I hope this is NOT an indication of how my day is going to go

My back is much better after 3 doses of Prednisone
It is great to hear your starting to feel better. Back pain can be so crippling. Stretch, stretch stretch!!!
Glass of wine and some nonsense tv before bed and hopefully a better sleep!!
That sounded like a VERY busy day!!!! You deserved that glass of wine!

Safe travels for tomorrow if I don't get to post again
Today, I “cater” the football team dinner for DS’ team…100 people. Making 3 trays of penne
That's a big task!!! I have never done something like that. I wouldn't even know how to adjust to make food for that many people  It sounds delicious though. I am definitely a pasta lover of any kind
Not the biggest macaroon fan, couldn’t resist this huge one, filled with caramel buttercream and pumpkin cheesecake.
That looks DELICIOUS!!!!! I'm looking forward to our Epcot day. I have a few items picked out that I want us to try. Dh and boys are not too keen on staying in Epcot all day - I'm hoping I can convince them to stay a little longer before jumping to HS.

Well, I should get to some of my tasks for today :surfweb:

Have a great day everyone!!!!

Dh and boys are not too keen on staying in Epcot all day - I'm hoping I can convince them to stay a little longer before jumping to HS.
Ive been known to bolt &wind up @ MK . We either do a designated driver on Epcot days (cheers) or take the bus. Otherwise, I get nervous leaving rental car in lot for fear I’d miss the last bus or monorail. Certainly, not the end of the world but, can’t shake that thought lol

Took 1-1/2 hours to buy concert tix to the annual TSO concert in December the mr loves. Couldn’t figure out why the issue with our citi CC presale. Kept rejecting.

I forgot we got new cards/new numbers  The old info was stored in Ticketmaster, even though i have the two accounts linked in order to use presale. To their credit, Citi’s customer service managed to not laugh at me after I came in rather “hot”. Duh

Now i want banana bread lol

I am lucky - I always have a sober driver. Dh has been sober for 17 years now. And we have a car rental - as we are staying off-site. I never even thought about taking a bus from Epcot to HS. Is that even possible? Then take a bus back to Epcot after we are done HS. Instead of driving to both places.

Good Thursday afternoon everyone.
Thought I would check in from the home of our beloved Minions.

Robbie
Have a fantastic time
Thank you Mac we are having a wonderful time.

Have a great time! I know you'll have a great time!
Thank you Pumpkin we are having a wonderful time.

Not sure whether to applaud the person who thot this up or hope they don’t live near me
Whoever came up with that lawn mower skeleton theme was a genius…..lol

Naw, more like a side-kick to one. I do try to keep my commitments, nothing would upset me more as a kid when adults didn’t follow through on their promises.
Well said. Those memories of promises not kept stay with us for sure.

She is such a little ray of sunshine! Happy trails to you
Yes, she is. K is a wonderful sister.

Have a wonderful trip Robbie, enjoy your time with your sisters!
Thank you Carole. We are having a nice relaxing vacation. .

Not thrilled when I took off my toenail polish from last trip and saw one of nails blackened, appears the errant suitcase slammed it hard enough to do damage. Doesn’t hurt, just starting to raise up funny. If it’s going to fall off, hope it happens sooner vs later. Not my 1st rodeo with that mess.
Vacation battle scar. Thinking on the positive side it will grow back.

Robbie: I do the same thing lately since my husband isn't able to travel anymore, at least to places like theme parks. So I am taking my son this year to Universal. I also fix him what he loves, but he likes to eat out too,so he will be fine.
I miss not having hubby with me. Our son, daughter in law and grandchildren are getting him out for meals too. He does enjoy his time with those sweet children. He is a wonderful dad and grandpa
.
Yes, like I said I'm with my son this time. Last year was with my daughter. My granddaughter chimed in that she would love to go on a trip too, However, I have 6 grandkids and 2 +one on the way great grandkids, so I don't think that will happen soon:)
Sounds like you will have lots more fun trips to have with various family members.

am beyond excited :woohoo: It will be an adjustment for them to move back - coming back to the small town. But it seems like things are easily falling into place. Son-in-law will be going back to being a sales manager at a car dealership, dd is able to keep her job and work remotely - and will have to go to the city for 3-4 days per month. They already found a spot for gd at the best daycare in the city. So once they have their house in the big city on the market - they will start looking at homes here.
So nice to hear your daughter and family will be close to you again. I know you will be happy to have your sweet granddaughter close by.

am soooo excited for them to experience both HP areas of the parks. They are beyond excited. Watching the movies has definitely added another layer to our trip.
They will really like the HP areas.

Congratulations to Kyle on his beautiful new ride.

called mum who is doing much better after having Covid
So good to hear your mom is ok after having Covid.

Looks yummy.

Mac hope you are doing well

Carole safe travels to you and Tom.

We are relaxing at the pool today. It is a beautiful day to be at the pool. A little weather to please everyone. Some sun and clouds.

Tried the newly remodeled Trattoria del Porto for breakfast today was fantastic.

HHN planned for tonight.

Ordered some food to snack on.

Have a wonderful Thursday everyone.

Minion water time.

I am lucky - I always have a sober driver. Dh has been sober for 17 years now.
33 for DW and 37 for me. Many of our guests are new and in need of a little escape from reality that doesn't come with complications. We also DD for friends who do drink at festivals. They can let loose a little and we don't have worry about friends, win win.

Again I'm asking

Is it 4:00 yet :rolleyes2 One meeting this afternoon to have our new consults sorted out for next week. I am just putting the finishing touches on the meeting minutes.

One more day....one more day - has been my Mantra all day today, :rolleyes1

We are relaxing at the pool today. It is a beautiful day to be at the pool. A little weather to please everyone. Some sun and clouds.
That is a FANTASTIC view!!!!!! I hope you are enjoying your time there!
Pumpkin….its 4:00 and now you are a free bird and off the clock to head home!
I went home and sat in my chair. I was burnt out. My brain couldn't think anymore. It was a McDicks night last night. I was simply exhausted. I did have a good sleep though last night and feel good again today...but I am VERY glad it's Friday. It's been a very crazy long week.

We are headed to the city tonight to see the kids. I think they have a few things they are wanting us to help them with to get their house ready so they can list it to sell. Youngest ds is coming along as well, as he wants to buy a few things there for our Florida trip.

I am hoping today goes smoother. We are a skeleton staff today with one emergency consult and CT scan today. WE have plans a, b, c, d, e, & f if needed ::yes::

Alright...off to get our consult roomed.

Have a great day everyone!!!!!
